 I completely agree!!!!

OMG - - don't even get me started on Grey's. TOTALLY LAME. A DEER????? oh, yeah, they'd let Izzy defibrillate a deer. <_<

and George and Izzy - - EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! it's so NOT right!!! I don't get it. And what's with all the interns? last season - six - this season - about 30 of them with nothing to do? and.......Meredith has a sister?!! oh yeah, out of nowhere she shows up.........

and speaking of Meredith - WTH? WHO would break up w/ McDreamy? Oh I am SO annoyed with that whole story line....but I guess she's been kinda messed up ever since the near drowning, maybe?

Highly annoyed wtih whole show.....

I am at peace with my tv again.......Grey's is back on :)

Would it REALLY be typical Derrick/Meredith relationship if they weren't in CONSTANT turmoil?? ha I was cracking up when they go "break-up kiss?.......break-up sex?" ha Typical THEM! I did read/hear somewhere that Meredith will have some new love interests this season.....soooo that means More Mchotties

I am also not a huge fan of the George/Izzy story line. It just isn't normal.

I thought the deer was a little out there........however I was cracking up when they used the paddles and shocked it back to life. It just got up and looked around like "HUH?" lol

I am SO glad the show is back on..........YEAH!!!!

-Jessica

Ok--I have to say this....I think Meredith and Derrick look so much alike that they could be brother and sister.

Their mouths are identical.

This has been bugging me for a while now

at that moment I was awaiting what would NORMALLY happen - deer goes into mad panic then runs out into Seattle traffic, only to get creamed again. but nooooo - it waited calmly in the truck until animal rescue arrived......

so glad you got that off your chest, Patti.

they kinda DO look alike......

I totally LOVE Grey's Anatomy!!!! I also really like Private Practice even though I hated it when they did the spin off. It was really good...I thought. But then again, I LOVE Kate Walsh. What did other people think?

I agree the deer thing was REALLY stupid! What were they thinking?

Overall, I am glad it's back on...makes my week feel faster!

Yep, another Grey's fan here.

I agree...don't like the George/Izzie thing at all, and yes she makes me tired. :P

Also can't believe there are SOOOO many new interns, sheesh. I can hardly remember my own name anymore, what the heck are they trying to do to me.

The deer was lame, but I figured they needed to give her something THAT lame so she could make her little speech at the end.

Just found out one of my friends from Ohio State is an actor on the show.

He plays one of the new interns - guy with short curly blonde/brown hair. He didn't speak in the last episode, but he did say something like "lets go to the cafeteria" in last year's last epsiode.

Weird seeing him on tv...LOL

p.s. His name is Joe (in real life)

My thoughts exactly Susie, that whole deer thing was kind of strange, and the "I'm Bambi" metaphor- to then literally have a "bambi" deer in the show to make a point......

I was pretty BORED watching the season opener, it didn't seem to have that same energy and fabulosity of seasons past. I was expecting a lot more, fireworks, a big bang, SOMETHING, but maybe I am just being nitpicky  .

I just hope they get the kinks worked out with the cast changes and it gets back to the Greys I knew and loved.

 Patti

Me too . . . plus, I don't like the way they portray Callie as coming across weak and needy both at her job and her marriage. She didn't start off that way.

Also agree with waaaay too many interns. I think they have got to get rid of some/most of them . . . they are cluttering up the set.

Sorry, BB, hope your friend makes the cut that I have wished for. :(

Patti, I never thought that before, but I am from now on since you've planted that seed!

Dude! In the preview for the episode this week (FINALLY!) that nurse says she's in love with Derek! What?!! Apparently a lot has been going on at Seattle Grace while we've been trying to entertain ourselves for months on Thursday evenings! ;)

Ok, I have to admit that I didn't know until this season it was Seattle GRACE....I thought they were saying Seattle GREY'S :ph34r:

I HOPE we get our old Grey's back with the new episodes..

Can't wait till Thursday night! Ugly Betty, Grey's AND Lost :D

Julie--so funny that you thought it was "Grey's" instead of "Grace". I actually couldn't remember the name of the hospital at all, so you did better than I :P

Grey's is on TONIGHT!!!!! So excited...(and Ugly Betty and LOST)

It's a pop corn eating, tv watching kind of night :D

Soooo... what did everyone think??!

I like Meredith less than ever after she screamed out "Tumor!"

I can't believe Derek and Mark actually even talk to each other. That's so weird to me.

Lexie's speech at the end was awful!

All in all, I thought it was a pretty good episode, though. I'm just glad the show's back!

I know--that was incredibly insensitive <_<

It was a good episode, I thought...lot's of blood and guts, though. So glad it and Lost are back :D

Green12 Enthusiast

I actually felt last night's episode had hints of the Grey's I once knew and loved, very close but not all of the way there yet.

It was great to have it back, yet it was strangely unfamiliar too since it had been away for so long. I feel like I have to get to know it all over again

I'm hoping last night's ep was just easing into bigger and better things to come.

DingoGirl Enthusiast

hmmmm.....well, I am just more and more annoyed w/ Izzie all the time. She is REALLY bugging me! Her ridiculous antics last night - - and doesn't even seriously get in trouble for all the stupid, unnecessary tests......right..... <_<

Meredith bugs me all the time......sitting in the shrink's office - saying nothing - -

Lexie's speech - - do you guys notice that all the girls' speeches are the same - intonation, cadence, rant, style - all of it - - driving me nuts......

And - what is going on w/ Callie and that doctor? are they gay?

Loved the scene in elevator w/ McSteamy and McDreamy - very cute - -

okay.....someone remind me WHY I watch this show again?

stupid train wreck and I can't look away......

Ahhh life is good! Grey's is back on YEAH!! I thought last night was a bit bloody (the intestines falling out of the bear guy ewwww) BUT the story was good.....it didn't seem like it lasted a full hour it left me wanting more more more!!

I liked this week's episode, might have been because Addison came back. I think I figured out with her guest appearance that I miss the chemistry of the original cast of characters, even Burke

angel-jd1 Community Regular

I agree, I miss the old characters also!!! Having Addison back this week made for some funny scenes (like the elevator!!!) I was cracking up with the elevator scene....McDreamy, new girl friend, Meredith, Addison, and then McSteamy!!! haaahaa

In the previews for next week they show some newspaper cut out of Burke, however it goes so fast I couldn't read what it said. Did anybody catch what the title of the picture/article is??

no argument. Never take the pills sold for Nuclear events, except in a nuclear event when instructed to by authorities.  Some of these go up to 130 milligrams per pill. 5000 times the strength of the dietary supplement.  130 times the safe upper limit.  130 mg = 130,000 mcg. Dietary supplements like Lugol's Solution and Liquid Iodine are 50 micrograms per drop.  It takes 20 drops to reach the safe upper limit. In the US the Safe upper limit is 1100 mcg.  In Europe 600 mcg and in Japan 3000 mcg ( 3 mg).

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @JudyLou! There are a couple of things you might consider to help you in your decision that would not require you to do a gluten challenge. The first, that is if you have not had this test run already, is to request a "total IGA" test to be run. One of the reasons that celiac blood antibody tests can be negative, apart from not having celiac disease, that is, is because of IGA deficiency. If a person is IGA deficient, they will not respond accurately to the celiac disease blood antibody tests (such as the commonly run TTG-IGA). The total IGA test is designed to check for IGA deficiency. The total IGA test is not a celiac antibody test so I wouldn't think that a gluten challenge is necessary. The second is to have genetic testing done to determine if you have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease. About 30-40% of  the general population have the genetic potential but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, genetic testing cannot be used to diagnose celiac disease but it can be used to rule it out. Those who don't have the genetic potential but still have reaction to gluten would not be diagnosed with celiac disease but with NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity).  Another possibility is that you do have celiac disease but are in remission. We do see this but often it doesn't last.

Hi there, I’m debating whether to consider a gluten challenge and I’m hoping someone here can help with that decision (so far, none of the doctors have been helpful). I have a history of breaking out in a horrible, burning/itchy somewhat blistering rash about every 8 years. This started when I was in my early 30’s and at that point it started at the ankles and went about to my knees. Every time I had the rash it would cover more of my body, so my arms and part of my torso were impacted as well, and it was always symmetrical. First I was told it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite. Next I was told it was eczema (after a biopsy of the lesion - not the skin near the lesion) and given a steroid injection (didn’t help). I took myself off of gluten about 3 weeks before seeing an allergist, just to see if it would help (it didn’t in that time period). He thought the rash looked like dermatitis herpetiformis and told me to eat some bread the night before my blood tests, which I did, and the tests came back negative. I’ve since learned from this forum that I needed to be eating gluten daily for at least a month in order to get an accurate test result. I’m grateful to the allergist as he found that 5 mg of doxepin daily will eliminate the rash within about 10 days (previously it lasted for months whether I was eating gluten or not). I have been gluten free for about 25 years as a precaution and recommendation from my doctor, and the pattern of breaking out every 8 years or so remains the same except once I broke out after just one year (was not glutened as far as I know), and now it’s been over 9 years. What’s confusing to me, is that there have been 3 times in the past 2 years when I’ve accidentally eaten gluten, and I haven’t had any reaction at all. Once someone made pancakes (they said they were gluten-free, they were not) and I ate several. I need to decide whether to do a gluten challenge and get another blood test. If I do, are these tests really accurate? I’m also concerned that I could damage my gut in that process if I do have celiac disease. My brother and cousin both had lymphoma so that’s a concern regarding a challenge as well, though there is a lot of cancer in various forms in my family so there may be no gluten connection there. Sorry for the ramble, I’m just doubting the need to remain gluten free if I don’t have any reaction to eating it and haven’t had a positive test (other than testing positive for one of the genes, though it sounds like that’s pretty common). I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice!

Hello, just popped in my head to ask this question about medications and celiac? I have always had refurse reaction to meds since I can remember  of what little meds my body is able to tolerate. I was taking gabapentin 300mg for a week,  in past I believe 150? Any ways it amps me up not able to sleep, though very tired. However I did notice it helped with my bloating sibo belly.I hate that my body is that sensitive and medical doesn't seem to take seriously. Im STILL healing with my skin, eye, and now ms or meningioma ( will know in April  which)and dealing with this limbo nightmare. I did write my name, address ect on the reclamation but im not tech savvy and not sure if went through properly. I called my city representative in Stanislaus County and asked if theres a physical paper i can sign for proclamation for celiac and she had no clue about what I was saying, so I just said I'll go back on website.
    • Scott Adams
I'm not saying that some celiacs won't need it, but it should be done under a doctor's supervision because it can cause lots of problems in some people.
