I like Donovan. (Don, Donny, Van)

I like Gunther, too.

Because I teach, I like the idea of having a unique name --- but not a bizarre name.

I like the "older" names that have fallen out of the "Top Ten" lists, but are still good solid names....like

Timothy

Thomas

Neil

My cousin is having a son, soon, and they are naming him Levi - cute. I can picture him in little Osh Gosh Overalls already.

I know someone named Tobin. (toe-bin) I always thought that was neat.

Good luck choosing! My parents named my little sister within minutes of her birth. They were stuck on Bethany the entire pregnancy and at the last minute chose Ashley (a family name - before there were a million Ashley's around).

Have fun!

Amy, being a teacher, do you think the other kids would make fun of a kid named Gunther (Gunn, Gunny)? I really like the name. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Keep those ideas coming guys. I'm hoping something will jump out and grab me.

And don't forget, you can always change their name!! I was born amber adelle, but never once did I answer to amber. It just never fit. I went by adelle until I was 9 and my mom officially changed it. I LOVE my name. My BFF's dh never went by his given name, always answered to his dad's name. They changed it when he was like 3 yo. I brought up Gunther to my hubby (he's good at making fun of names ha ha), and he couldn't really think of anything. I like your list. Relax and good luck!!

I too am pregnant. I have three boys named Bryce, Braden(Brady) and Connor. I am really having a hard time coming up with a boys name that fits with theirs.

A friend of ours named their baby Gunner and I didn't like it at first, but now i really like it. I think that would be another option for you, if you like it. I do think Gunther is a bit different. Everyone is SOOOOOOOO different though in what they like it is amazing. You will never find that everyone likes the name you pick. SOme will hate it and some will love it, but if they really love your child, it will grow on them and in the end I think they will like the name.

Goodluck deciding.

I also like different names and some common names spelled differently, it makes them stand out.

I want to name my girl Kortlyn. This thread has helped me and John start thinking about babys.

I like classic names. My daughter is Katherine. My husband is Bill & I'm Susan. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

My brother and sister-in-law are due in June. His initials are M.A.D. after my grampy who was H.A.D and if theirs is a boy it is going to be B.A.D.

I like classic names too; but I like Gunther as a first name. I think it could be a German orgin anyway so it would fit with the last name.

My sister in law wanted to name her girl some odd sounding name and my only comment was "make sure it doesn't mean something else (that could be a bad word) in another language...."

I've always - since the 1970's when I was a teenager -- liked the name Mariah. I liked it before Mariah Carey. I believe Mariah is the name of a mountain in the Old Testament. I also love Rachel. Mike & I always joked that we'd name our children (using last name of Martin) : Martin Martin, Steve Martin, Richard Martin, Mary Martin, Short Martin (using Martin, Short ha ha) - to youngsters , these were all celebrities or actors in the past. Alas, we never had children nor pets so no name damage was ever done.

When I was a kid I had two great Aunts with very Italian names of Bachelene and Sigalucha. As a kid I thought the names were strange, they weren't simple like Maria, Angela, Donna. They must have been from a different side of Italy.

Gunther is a very German name, as is Guhl. From what I gather, it means nothing in German, just a last name. It was my grandmother's maiden name and she liked it so much she kept her name when she got married. I remember her always being very proud of her German heritage. When my mother was sick and couldn't take care of my brother and I, my grandmother took us in until she was well again. She played a HUGE part in my younger years. She also taught me to paint and draw. She only got to meet my daughter a few times as she fell ill quickly after her birth. Before she went blind, I believe she saw Tori once. I think it would be a nice way of honoring her, to name my son after her. I still haven't decided though.

Blake is one of the newer names to go onto our list. We love that name! :) Still, I think the family name is priority for us.

Angie ~ I really think you should stick with Gunther then. Your grandmother sounds like a wonderful person to honor.

My kids both have middle names for family. My son (Nicholas Charles) was named for my father who passed away when I was only 17 years old. I am also a big "meaning" fan, though. His name means Victorious Man and I remind him of that sometimes. He tends to have a low self confidence and image of himself sometimes. My dd (Carleigh Grayce) was named in part because Carleigh is a derivative of Charles and Grayce was my grandmother's best friend. She was my mom's godmother and a wonderful person. When my grandmother died, also before my kids were born, she "took us over" as likes to say. I thought it honored both of them because my grandmother's name was Gussie and she always hated it.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
