Please, please, please respond if you have had a bad reaction to Lundberg's BBQ Rice Chips, or any of Lundberg's Rice Chips. There are a number of people using this forum of have complained they felt ill after eating them.

It's important that we figure out if there is a problem, and address it with Lundberg's.

FYI, all of Lundberg's products are processed in their facility, EXCEPT the Lundberg Rice Chips which are processed by a different company in a different facility. You guessed it, that facility also processes wheat on the SAME equipment which is "washed down" afterwards.

In my opinion, they're not safe. I had a reaction to them immediately and it was the only thing I had eaten, so I'm sure it was the chips. Not BBQ, though, but rice. I won't eat Lundberg again.

Oh no . . . . . . I eat Lundberg chips all the time. Since I don't have GI celiac, the only way to know if I've been "glutened" is either 1) through bloodwork or 2) more neurological damage.

My cranial reflexes are now GONE -- not only is it dangerous because they're protective, but it is indicative of a HUGE neurological problem. I just found that out when I went to the neurosurgeon. My eyes also have increased neurological trouble -- I found that out three weeks ago at the neuro-opthmalogist.

I HATE when companies do stuff like this. Why would they put people at risk like that? I am LIVID. I am also calling them tomorrow and addressing this with them.

Thank you for the information.

I eat them and don't react at all.

YES!! I react badly to the Lundberg BBQ rice chips (and possibly the other flavors, but I KNOW the BBQ chips are bad news). I have yet to get sick from the plain Sea Salt chips and continue to eat those without problems.

Things like this really upset me. They can process food on shared equipment with wheat, just don't lie and put "GLUTEN FREE" in the corner of the product without testing.

I have gotten sick everytime I have eaten the BBQ chips. I steer clear of all their products now -- too risky.

I eat their honey mustard ones with no problems!!!

It makes me wonder if it's something in the BBQ flavoring -- either that or do they use the chips from the first run for BBQ???

I react to them also. I am another one who is a bit more than annoyed with these companies. They are fully well aware of CC issues but heck if they put that on the bag they won't sell as much of their product. I always make it a practice now on the rare times I eat anything labeled gluten-free to look and see if they make other poison products also. If the company does I pass, I have to, I don't want to but it takes weeks for me to recover from a glutening. I would love to be able to eat processed mainstream foods but unfortunately I found it is like playing with a firecracker. I never know if when the food leaves the hand if it will blow up my gut.

I've just recently been eating them and due to other food sensitivities, eating only the Sea Salt ones. I bought a new bag and brought it to work with me today. I had about 5 or 6 while working and starting to develop a stomach ache. Since this is all I've eaten for the past couple hours it make me go hmmm. It does say caramel coloring - what is that made from? So I got on the internet to see if anyone else is having problems and here you all are. I guess these are a no no now. That's too bad. They were good.

loraleena Contributor

Geez, I always wondered why I always felt fuzzy headed and a little yucky after I ate those. I stopped eating them because of this!! I get that reaction to all the flavors.

Hmmmm very interesting. As some of you know, I have been trying to figure out what has been making me feel bad the last several days. I didn't even think about this. I had the Santa Fe BBQ ones. They are soooo good. But, maybe that is what's bothering me. I will cut it out as well as some other stuff and see.

Thanks for the info

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
