Colorado Ranch

Just thought I would share---

My husband and i just returned from Aspen Canyon Ranch in Colorado where we went on vacation with 4 of our friends. It was a smaller type dude ranch. We rode horses all day, went skeet shooting and fly fishing. It was gorgeous and so much fun. We were there for 4 days, but wish we could have been there longer.

Anyway, Debbie - one of the owners and also the cook, made me delicious gluten-free meals every day. The food was wonderful, everyone said so. And she always made sure that I got the same thing as everyone else, just a gluten free version. gluten-free salmon and steaks and BBQ chicken. She made gluten-free pasta salads, and ordered me so gluten-free cereals and waffles for the morning. She also makes excellent homeade ice cream!

The trip was so great, it was expensive, but worth it. All food, lodging and activities are included in the per person price. It was just an extra added bonus that I got to eat so well too! I called her in advance of our arrival, and let her know my issues, but i brought some food with me too because you just never know. I returned home with most of that food. The staff was great.

If you are looking for wonderful scenery, lots of time on horseback, and great food, you should try Aspen Canyon Ranch. It was a vacation that was such an experience. If you go, you have to stay in the "Cliffhouse Cabin", a little cabin overlooking the river and tucked into a cliff. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, a full kitchen, and your own hot tub overlooking the river. Just the thing to cure the saddle sores!!

I have to agree with you, cross contamination is a big factor for me also I have cealiac and thyroid condition.2 years for me on cealiac. Am I’m still having issues. Went to my gastroenterologist in this past nov. said everything looks good . I am looking into coffee now and what I’ve read cross contamination is possible. I’m stumped. I’m so sick of being sick at times. peace lily🥲

You already got some great recommendations. Just want to second that Mallorca (and Spain in general) is one of the best and easiest places for celiacs to travel. I have been to Mallorca multiple times and have never experienced any cross contaminations and there are SO many easy to buy options in regular supermarkets. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

I agree.  If someone has Barrett's Esophagus, at least here in the UK, as I understand it under normal circumstances a PPI needs to be taken long term (or similar medication).  I have two friends with this.  The PPI it does have side effects but they still have to take it.
