Just got news they are putting my bil back in the hospital today. I havent told hubby yet since i just read the email. So everyone keep this family in your prayers and thoughts. We had thought we would spend the holidays all together as family which they havent dont in years, and now it looks like that wont be happening unless its in the hospital. Once i find out more I will post to all of those that have been followingb all of this with me.

Hi Paula,

I'm sorry he's still having trouble. Thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family.

thank you joni. He is back in the hospital, he was not ready to get out for the first time. The whole family is at war. It isnt a good situation in any account. I just hope my bil gets better and home for christmas like he plans.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Paula. I'll pray that he improves quickly in the hospital and that the family can find a way to get along and do whatever needs to be done.

Sorry, I think I got you mixed up with another poster.

I hadn't been eating gluten free before having the antibody test done. I started eating gluten free after having the test done because the gastro PA told me to eat gluten-free for 6 months. I'm now 3 months in.

I tend to agree with RMJ. Your doc took the reasonable and practical approach to diagnosis. All things considered, it was the right way to go. However, if you have first degree relatives that show signs of possible celiac disease, urge them to get formally tested before they start the gluten free diet.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.
