new car smell as eyeshadow. If you put enough on, it's almost fluorescent orange. Very fun!

OOOOhhhh, and then, since it turns color on me, I'd get to see a kalaidescope of changing color as the day goes on! :P Hum, I'll try it! Wait, hum, maybe it wouldn't turn color on my eyes though...still I think I must try.

When I'm on the new website, I often click excitedly on a lovely creamy peachy shade of blush, only to see the words "new car smell" pop up. Then I go like this: <_< (they so lie about that color...seriously, why does it look so pretty online, yet so horrid in reality? )

I'm actually a bit bummed, b/c I was hoping the colors would be depicted more accurately on the new site. I know it's not possible to get them perfect since computer screens vary, but really...they're pretty off

Ha, I ordered my train case. A present to myself. :) Also a tooth whitener.

Today I tried to use the Pearl Beige as an eyeshadow...it looked pretty good but was just a hair too light so I put Gingerbread man over it, and I really, really liked that, lol.

I also switched the brushes I use...Normally I use the flat top for my silk dust layer, then use the long handled kabuki for my foundation. I switched them today...still not sure what I think about that. I'll get back to you. :P

Yay on the traincase and spill on the tooth whitener, I'm interested

I'm also interested to hear how your brush expeiment goes.

Guess what, Guess what lol

I got my makeup. I also now know why it took so long. I paid for usps priority and i got it from dhl. I was so mad tho cause it was 15 minutes after i did my makeup lol. I was out of sunlight so i had to use mint lol. I still have to look over everything.

I am happy again that i got it, even tho it took forever. Even tho I have to find room for the stuff i bought now lmao

paula

YAY Paula!!! Can't wait to hear what you think of everything.

Perfect! Back to the neon 80s, you could wear florescent clothing and gloves and sing Wham songs to complete the look and feel...not that I did anything like that back then

I'm with you on this. Another frustration I had when ordering is there are several blushes without descriptions that I was interested in. I am finding I am paying attention to the written description and I really go over their wording carefully, along with the visual of the color swatch, to make my decisions.

But then again how many times have we all gotten a color and it was a total unexpected surprise, very different from what was shown and the description.

I guess we just have to try EVERYTHING!!!!!

That's the spirit! :D:lol:

I like looking at the description as well to make my decisions. :(

Placed a new order today. Tried to do it on the new site, but it does not have the option of sending a check or money order as the old one does. I have always placed my order and then sent a check. Had to go to the original site to do that. Hmmm....If anyone is interested, I ordered Fairly Light Neutral Semi-Matte foundation, Email Me blush, Start to Finish Fair finishing powder, and Intensive Light Concealer. ;)

Auntie Lurlynn Newbie

Hey Ya'll!!! :D

After having the time to read only the first 10 of the 164 pages about this incredible make-up, I'm totally sold on it, and I haven't even checked out the website yet! Good thing my birthday is in 9 days, because some of my b-day money will be going to EM. Right now I'm using Merle Norman's mineral foundation and for blush, etc. I'm using Clinique. I think I'll really like EM better. One question, I have dry skin, so can I apply foundation right after moisturizing?? I know if I did that with any other mineral make-up my face would look all cakey. Not a good thing :(

After I get my make-up in I'll tell ya'll what I think about it.

Hey cmom, glad you were still able to order at the old site with a check :)

I'm very interested in hearing how you like Email Me and the Start To Finish, so when you try them out you'll have to post a review.

Welcome Auntie Lurlynn!! I think you will really love Everyday Minerals as much as we do :)

I think I had read a tip to let your mousturizer set for about 5 minutes before applying anything, but I often don't and it seems to work out ok for me, not cakey at all. You will just have to experiment.

FYI, the original glo formulation of the foundations seems to work well for me and my dry skin areas.

Hi, Auntie Lurlynn. I have very dry skin as well. I am a big loser cheater, but I actually mix my EM into my moisturizer and apply it that way. Then I let the moisturizer set for 5 or 10 minutes and buff it in. I get a nice even coat, and no snowy caky face. I use the original glo, the other formulations are just too drying for my face.

OK - today is Mistletoe. LOVE IT!!! It is a great emerald green with a sparkle. Looks great with my green eyes. I used Cliche as a base again today. I am going to run out of this stuff fast, and will have to buy a new one before long.

Colleen, that doesn't make you a loser cheater, it makes you brilliant!!!!

Dang, Mistletoe is one I had my eye on but passed on in the last minute in my recent order. I thought I didn't need yet anther green (I have cypress, emerald, and pressed olive is on it's way).

I'm going to add it to my list for my next order!

Yes, you MUST try EVERYTHING!

Tooth whitener...I've been wanting to do that for a while, but I've tried the drug store stuff and it just doesn't work, and the dentist's office is too expensive right now...but I was afraid to try some of the other stuff out there, not knowing if it would work or not. Then yesterday, I happened to click on something on a webpage I was on, and it happened to be reviews of some teeth whiteners. They only found two that worked reasonably well, and the second of the two was one that Sephora sells, so I decided to try it. The reviewer was disappointed because it only whitened by 5-6 shades, lol. The #1 on the list went 7 shades...but that was from a website I'd never heard about before. I decided to try the one at Sephora. I'd be happy with 5 shades, lol.

If anyone is interested, I ordered Fairly Light Neutral Semi-Matte foundation, Email Me blush, Start to Finish Fair finishing powder, and Intensive Light Concealer. ;)

Silly, silly girl...OF COURSE we're interested. More than just interested, it is the duty of all cult personnel to report all orders!

Hey Ya'll!!! :D

Hi there! Welcome! They do have free (just cost of shipping) sample kits you can get, and you can order larger sample sizes of the makeup products too, so you don't have to get big containers of stuff until you know you like them. I see colleen gave the suggestion of mixing the foundation with the moisturizer, which is what I was going to suggest too.

I really love Mistletoe!

Ok i tried some of the stuff out lol. Im really shiny tho. I put on pearl sunlight and got some shine under my eyes and nose lol. Then i put on the start to finish powder, I love this. Then i put on buttered tan. Then i tried the free blush and my cheeks went grey almost black, so took that off and went back to phot album. I used the silk dust to finish it off. I do like the start to finish powders. Tommorow i am going to try the presssed powder. I didnt have time to really experiment cause i was getting ready for an baseball game lol.

That color didn't like you very well did it!

dlp252 Apprentice

Oh Oh, Paula and I finally have a color we CAN'T share!

confused Community Regular

Im going to use it for an eyeliner i think for the rest of my life lmao.

Ok tried the prssed powder. Ummm i looked like i was going goth lol. I used the pressed olive. I really think they are going to have to make darker shades, because i do love the coverage they give, justnot the color. ALso they dotn mix well with the pearl sunlight at all, it was like seperating all over my eyes and nose lol.

I did like how the start to finish soft bronze looked for finishing powder.

paula

dlp252 Apprentice

Yep, goth is a good description. Good to know a darker color won't help, lol!

confused Community Regular

Im wondering what it would do to mix the pad with the pressed powder and our favorite foundation. I looked so bad. My eyes are really red cause of my allergies and crying last night, that they really stuck out with the goth look lol.

Crap i forgot to try some of the lipsticks lol

Oh yeah...I'm wearing Copper today. I got my latest order yesterday, and copper was the lipstick I tried this time. It's a nice color...I thought it would be very orange, but it's not, and it's sort of sheer which is very nice. I mixed it with a pink today just because of what I'm wearing, but it'd be nice on its own too.

Thanks for the info Donna. I might have you try it first and see how you do with it, a guinea pig of sorts  But it sounds really promising, I'd be happy with 5 shades...I'd be happy with even 2

Paula sorry about your pressed powder experience :(

I wanted to order some of the lip glosses, but I see they all have sunflower oil in them and I'm allergic. So no EM lip glosses for me. BOO!!

confused Community Regular

Now for sure i know no more pressed powder. I had 5 people tell me that i looked very pale today while i was an function this morning lol.

I put on soccer practice lip gloss and i love it.

Yes, and this one is supposed to NOT make teeth sensitive...so I'm hoping it works, lol.

Okie dokie then...no more pressed powders for me. Unless.... Do they have a tan, lol, that might work.

Yeah, I really like soccer practice!

I love love lounge party, btw. I'm really fair but this totally works for me as a blush. Love it!

dlp252 Apprentice

Soccer practice doesn't seem orange at all to me. :P

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.

I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
