Fresh Meats?

So my boyfriend has been dying to show me that he can make me a safe gluten-free meal. We spent over an hour at Wal-Mart last night reading labels. We love eating grilled meat, but I was having the hardest time finding any that I knew were safe. All the fresh steaks and such said that they contained broth. I don't know if that's safe or not. I literally couldn't find any steaks that I knew were fresh. Are these fresh steaks usually considered gluten-free? I don't know how to go about buying meat anymore. This is frustrating.

If they contain broth, there should be a manufacturer's phone number somewhere on the label. You'll want to call it and ask if the broth has gluten in it. Usually there's someone who has a clue, since a lot of celiac's have to call to find out. You might try a search and see if anyone else has called and knows a safe brand. Sorry this isn't more helpful, I usually grab my meats from my local grocery store, and they know what to look for, since they see me regularly.

Fresh meats and vegetables don't have to list allergens (Why? That is so ridiculous!), so call or ask. Perdue chicken has a list on their web site, and you can always go to the store's web site to see if they have a list of their store-brand items that are gluten-free. That's why I spend a little extra money and go to my local meat market; it's meat, no fillers, broth, or junk to change the taste of my food!! :)

No need to be confused and please ignore the past answers - at least for the U.S.

Fresh meat MUST list anything that adds nutritional value, and that includes ANY grain --wheat, rye, barley. This is a USDA rule that is much older than the allergen rule and has nothing to do with it. If it's not listed in the meat, it's gluten-free. Period. No further discussion.

      The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

      I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

      Yarrow Pom works really well with the skin issues I found out.I had to stop so my doterra because dealing with medical celiac circus. I had shingles in Feb 2023. Prayers for healing

      More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
