Venting.....feeling Like Crap Again!

Well, I wanted to be able to vent and you all are the only ones that really "get" the frustration and pain.

Just a quick recap: Gluten free since April '10, had colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scans, you name it been there done it. Fired 1st GI because it seemed I could be rich for the $ I was paying her to hear well, it's not for sure or I guess we could test for that. WHAT!!! 2nd GI ordered full panel of blood work and is taking a let's check it off approach. So, I am not to sure about that one either. At least he listens and gives me some pain killers for the horrible attacks I was having.

Anyways, 2nd GI wants to rule out endometreosis. So, I went for regular pap and have yet another UTI. Go figure I seem to have them more than not. I drink cranberry, flush with water, pee after sex all the tips. Just have always had them most of my life.

Went for the vaginal ultrasound today and listened as the tech said a bunch of hmmms and repeated apologies for having to push on my abdomen which was extremely painful.

The OB is now ordering that my hormones levels (follicles) thyroid and a CBC blood panel be done. I requested a B12 check as well. I have extremely low B12 and take shots and sublinguals. So, I figure anytime my arm is getting poked for blood they can check my B12 levels.

Ok, the venting part: I AM SICK OF THIS PAIN! I have actually had a few days now for the 1st time in a year w/o pain and after today I hurt so bad that I am in a ball on the bed ready to cry my eyes out. UGH!!!

Sharp, sharp pain in the left side is taking me to a place of anger and hurt that I can't describe. I wanted to vent here instead of taking it out on my poor kids.

So sorry :( I had one of those icky ultrasounds once. They assured me it wouldn't hurt at all. I was in pain for days afterward. Not trying to scare you, just letting you know it's normal. I hope you can take a few days to rest and take care of yourself.

The thing is that I remember them hurting much worse way back in the days when I was preg. Can't remember which kid it was but I had to have so many of these type ultrasounds it was something else.

The actual test itself was not hurting. The pushing on my abdomen was what hurt so badly. I was afraid of the pain so I had taken 1/2 of a hydrocodone before going in. Thank goodness I did. The tech said she was trying to move around some trapped gas so she could see my hiding right ovary.

Does this mean anything to anyone? Why would my ovary be hiding? The tech seemed a bit concerned throughout saying hmmmm, let me take another measurement, and things like that. Am I just freaking???

Nothing to worry about. A little gas in your intestine was showing up on the ultrasound and keeping the tech from visualizing your ovary clearly. That's what she meant by "hiding". I imagine a tech who was causing you obvious pain would be acting concerned.

I hope the pain goes away soon from all that prodding. :(

This sounds kinda like what I've experienced up into my 30's......a laproscopic 'look' inside was the answer I'd needed for so long.

I had an infection in my teens that created adhesions in my lower abdomen.

Everything was adhered together.....Everything!

Scar tissue grew my intestines and the reproductive organs together that became very painful during sex and bowel movements..........even grew up my tubes.....hence the reason I cannot have children.

When they did the laprosope......they cut it all away and I have not had the pain since......going on 15 yrs now.

It may be worth the same to you.......they NEVER found THAT during an ultrasound!

If your intestines are attached to your uterus........due to adhesions. Then this procedure would tell you for sure.

Something to ask your doctor about.....I was sent to a specialist after 15 yrs of this pain - now 15 yrs without......and diagnosis for Celiac just recently and didn't even compare to that pain I once experienced.

It's your body......defend it as you see fit..........with empowerment!

Yep, that's pretty much the same thing my ultrasound tech said to me. It must be pretty standard for them to have to move things around to get a better shot. I wouldn't read anything into it.

Thanks for all the responses thus far.

Yes, my new OB is FANTASTIC! I love her already! She already said we need to think about laproscope and I told her no need to think let's get to it! She wanted the ultrasound first and we are moving forward with the laproscopy.

I sure hope they find something. I am thinking maybe I have scar tissue from the many infections I have had through the years. I dunno! I am desperate!

I am so sorry you have to deal with that. I used to have to have a lot of bloodwork done (I was diagnosed with Eptein-Barr @ 15). It was hard at first but after I got used to it I was a trooper.

Think about all the gluten free cookies you get to eat after ;) lol

Being gluten free made my UTI's stop happening. Hope the same will happen to you.

      I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50.       BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.

      You might try Heallix.  It's a silver solution with fulvic acid. I just put the solution on with a cotton ball.  It seemed to stop the nerve pain. Again,  not in your eyes or ears.   Go to heallix.com to read more about it and decide for yourself Also,  I do think nerve and celiac combined have a lot to do with your susceptibility to shingles breaking out.

      Celiac disease requires both genetic potential and a triggering stress event to activate the genes. Otherwise it remains dormant and only a potential problem. So having the genetic potential is not deterministic for celiac disease. Many more people have the genes than actually develop the disease. But if you don't have the genes, the symptoms are likely being caused by something else.

      Yes, i pulled raw ancetry data and saw i have 2/3 markers for DQ2.2 but have heard from friends in genetics that this raw data can be wildly innacurate
