Doh.....was all set to hop back in my lil pool to float but thot I'd check what's for dinner and now I am drooling over oysters being served 3000 miles away and swatting my poor kindle!!! Actually thought a bug got under the glass Cuz I'm outside and feeling a bit of the ebbys all day thanks one tick that bit my buddy and bedbugs discovered in the apt next to sis today while I was on a MoveOut preinspection....creepy crawlys go away!

So this morning started off s$#&ty when happy hubs woke up with a severe case of the grumps -- so I rode his/my bike a bit longer as I knew his primary bike is in the shop -- gave him time to understand he woke in a bad mood....all good now.

Last night we had spaghetti with some yummy crockpot sauce I let simmer all day --- it had herbs from my patio that I have not killed yet - in fact they are thriving!

Tonight is bbq chicken with baked beans - the simple bushes/maple syrup/red onion topped with bacon ones and corn for the guys...zucchini for me.

Almost talked myself outran the crab cakes....as I was being grumpy as I cannot do crab....buy picked up the ingrediants today...hope mine turn out close to that picture -- should make the three dads over here tomorrow happy :)

Edited....damn kindle turned s$#&ty to shifty.

Hahaha I hate those automatic spell corrections. It just makes you swear more when they auto-correct your swearing!

Great news, I  can almost use my right hand again. Turns out the rapidly spreading horrid pain I developed on Thursday started spreading to my arm, neck, then my foot and up my leg. Then, my right lower back/near buttock was burny..so, I use a hand mirror to look backwards at myself in the mirror--not easy checking your self out back there...and I've got a good sized tick bite Bullseye rash going.

Aha..... that explains the creeping paralysis and throbbing digits....country living whoohoo!

Have to take the dreaded antibiotics for 14 days (no choice) and so my appetite is off. Plus, I feel kind of weird.

SKI..crab cakes look drooly good

Addy enjoy your toes and the food fair

MW look what you started

Arlene....please pass the oysters.

Dinner is probably going to be whatever the hubs can whip up easily. I marinated the chicken for him at least.

Going to rest now. ANTIBees make me feel like yuck.

Oh, horrors!  Ticks are loathesome.  I found one on me, too, but it didn't eat me.  Feel better soon, K?  That little bug thinger is too cute for a tick!  Just where on earth do you people find these awesome emoticons?

Dinner was tediously uncreative.  Still out in the country housesitting so I made do with my Bolognese with which I made meat nachos.  Will go into town again tomorrow to do some more cookin'.

It does indeed. I am thick in the head too from the tick  bite infection and the meds, so...We're a pair !

thick as thieves, as it were. :)

Dinner tonight will be whatever combo I can make from the grilled chicken and peppers last night (feta, olives, toms, arugula  maybe??) and roll it in a warmed tortilla wrap.

That's the best I  can do. ta da

I have managed today to hobble around enough to water my garden and get a second load of laundry into the washer so far. I discovered that much to my surprise and although pineapple should be safe from a tyramine standpoint, that last night it made me pretty instantly half blind. And I thought I was testing my histamine limits! Joy. <_<

I think for dinner we'll do burgers on arepas if I can talk myself into arepas tonight. Some corn or green beans or maybe cornbread if I don't do arepas. I don't know but I'm sure I'll think of something that resembles a vegetable. Other than that a significant amount of R&R and enough anti-histamine tea to drown an elephant is on my menu today. And maybe a home mani so my fingers don't feel so naked when I look at my toes. ^_^

Mr Mindwarp made roast chicken today with sweet potatoes for me, even though it's father's day.

I am just nearly getting over migraine, and am awash with forms and math tests (not my forte) so excuse me if I am a bit incoherent.

The boys are handling the steak, corn and salad -- I will attempt those beautiful crab cakes.

Also in the bag -- I made soft triple choc brownies -- then whipped vanilla ice cream with some extra vanilla to top the brownie...sitting in the freeze...planning on whipping some cream then drizzle carmel sauce == but thinking a sauce out of kalua would be awesome -- depends on how grumpy I am in an hour after an attitude adjusting float ;)

just looked up recipe for coffee syrup....brownie/ice cream pie WITH coffee syrup - yep -- that should improve everyone's mood around here!

I should just come live with you. You always have chocolate and I always have somewhere to pack in the chocolate.

I decided on corn spoon bread with our burgers. I left out the green onions because my husband doesn't like them. Turns out he doesn't like corn spoon bread at all! <_<

8000 posts? Who knew I could possibly talk that much? (watch it, you wiseacres!!.)

Victoria sponge cake and chili chocolate cake sounds heavenly.

A piece of each please! Chocolate issues be damned!

The sun is out (you know, that bright round thing in the sky?) but I cannot partake of it too much because of this stupid medicine  Directions say I'm supposed to hide from it. (curses, you little tick!) so I may try the gym again. My bones and muscles are really sore. Wish I had a hot tub. Wish I had a hot tub.

Wish I had a hot tub. (chanting here in hopes the genie hears me)

Anyhoo, another set of gawkers coming to look at the house tonight.

I've got bison chili going in the crock. That should smell inviting. I made cookies last time and it smelled like cinnamon.

Maybe these peeps like spicey? I've got St. Joe in the ground upside down, according to those who know this magic house selling stuff.

Hey, I'll try anything once. The things I like, I do them twice, thrice, etc.Happy Monday. Check ya later, peeps.

Adalaide Mentor

Party? Cake? I'm on my way!

Or we can party at my house. There is a hot tub in the back yard. One I can not use because when I get out my blood pressure take a nose dive off a cliff and I pass out. <_<

I have no idea what I'm going to make for dinner. I was going to make a roast but didn't think to get it out of the freezer until yesterday so I guess that is tomorrow's dinner because I'm sure it is still solid enough to murder with. I'll think of something I'm sure.

that's a bona fide sin down here!  i have a really good recipe (but i think everybody likes it because it's more like dessert lolz)  it's like custard on the inside with a crunchyish outside.

reminds me of that joke - attributes of women:  kind, considerate, sympathetic, helpful, blah blah blah

attributes of men:  can carry heavy s$#&  :)

In 70-year-olds, DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) levels are significantly lower than in young adults, typically around 20% of youthful levels, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov). This decline is a natural part of aging, with DHEA production decreasing from its peak in the third decade of life. While some studies suggest potential benefits of DHEA replacement in older adults, particularly in women, results are not consistently positive across all studies.

Welcome @bold-95.   That's a tough situation.   Understanding DHEA Deficiency in Menopausal Women A major cause of hypothyroid is iodine deficiency.  In the 60's bread had 90 mcg, milk 100 mcg per cup and we used iodized table salt.  A sandwich and glass of milk supplied 300 mcg,  Now in the US bread does not use iodine as dough condition, milk has a bad name and table salt is avoided.  Net reduction from 1970 to 1984 of 50% of iodine intake.   Urinary iodine levels (mg/dL) in the United States, 6-74 years of age NHANES I, 1971-74 Median 32.00 2NHANES III, 1988-91 Median 14.5 NHANES 2000 Median 16.1 There has been a trend for increased prescribing of levothyroxine (LT4) in the United States.  LT4 was the tenth and seventh most commonly prescribed drug based on the number of prescriptions in 2005 and 2006, respectively. From 2008 to 2011 the number of LT4 prescriptions rose from 99 million to 105 million, with LT4 being the second most prescribed medication.1 From 2012 to 2016 the number of annual LT4 prescriptions increased steadily from 112 million to 123 million, with LT4 being the most prescribed medication.2,3 During 2017 and 2018 LT4 was the third most prescribed medication, with 98 million Levothyroxine prescriptions trends may indicate a downtrend in prescribing. DHEA and hypothyroidism are linked, with some evidence suggesting that low DHEA levels may be associated with hypothyroidism.

For minor aches and pains, my go to is Original Alka-Seltzer.  Aspirin and bicarbonate.  It is dissoved in water before you swallow it so no tablets to aggravate the stomach wall.  The bicarbonate buffers the stomach acid for upset stomach. Willow bark contains a chemical called salicin, which is similar to aspirin. It has pain and fever reducing effects in the body. The last time I took Advil for serious pain it spiked my BP to 190. Some blood pressure medications have been linked to rib pain or musculoskeletal pain as a side effect.  I had to stop Atnenolol because it had me bent over like a 90 year old with a walker.  Another med prescribe by my doctor left my knees unstable.  Currently, Losartan has weakened my back and thighs.  Can't walk to my mailbox at the street and back without having to rest my legs.  Upper body is however increasing muscle mass.  No one believes me though; think I'm malingering.  Those blood pressure meds also had no effect on my BP, but doctor wants me to continue on (man up, its good for you, with the Losartan + clonidine.  What has been working is Clonidine.  It has lowered my BP. but it is considered third tier BP med.  No side effects and it lowers my BP from 160+ to between 115 and 139.

@bold-95, welcome to the forum. Rib pain can be caused by Chondritis, an inflammation of the cartilage in the ribcage or breastbone.  Vitamin D deficiency causes this condition and Osteopenia. Celiac disease damages the lining of the small intestine, making absorption of nutrients like vitamins difficult.  Nutritional deficiencies result.  Diseases can be caused by not having enough of certain vitamins and minerals. Vitamins are chemical compounds that our bodies cannot make, so we must get them from food or supplements.  Vitamins are crucial to our bodies functioning properly.  Eating a nutritionally dense diet is important, but to correct nutritional deficiencies, supplemental vitamins are needed.   Over the counter pain relievers like NSAIDs and PPIs can cause additional inflammation and damage to the small intestine.  OTC pain relievers worked for me but they hurt my digestive system worse.  Yes, Cobalamine Vitamin B12, Pyridoxine B 6, and Thiamine B 1 have an analgesic effect when taken together.   I'm leaving links below so you can see for yourself.   Analgesic and analgesia-potentiating action of B vitamins.     https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12799982/#:~:text=Disregarding pain resulting from vitamin, three are given in combination.   Mechanisms of action of vitamin B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (cobalamin) in pain: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35156556/   B Vitamins in the nervous system: Current knowledge of the biochemical modes of action and synergies of thiamine, pyridoxine, and cobalamin https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31490017/   Role of B vitamins, thiamine, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin in back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33865694/   The Combination of Neurotropic Vitamins B1, B6, and B12 Enhances Neural Cell Maturation and Connectivity Superior to Single B Vitamins https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11987730/
