Loey Rising Star

Back from root canal. Keep in mind, I am a black belt in karate - undefeated in competitive fighting. I have had a freaking metal stake jammed in my side, and have hit an oak tree at 50+ miles per hour.

NONE OF THAT COMES CLOSE! Worst freaking pain ever! I literally jumped out of the chair a few times. :

BUT it is behind me now... I can recover now right? Just need to get a crown... dunno what that involves, but cant be worse... right?

So sorry! heal quickly. I don't think a crown is as bad

Or come visit me LoLo, tis legal here.

Or here.. .. . . :)

. Did you miss the big killer mutant wasp attack of 2012? Massive stingers at the ready they buzzed down from the light fixtures and up from the bed covers. Never deterred except for a direct hit from the hairspray and floppy sandal. And then Vincent shared his roots with a friend who was all too happy to explore them.

Fairly normal going's on around here.

:lol::rolleyes:

Welcome back Looey! Is that a new name for u? :) Ok, Peanut-Looey it is then. Sounds like quite an adventure there Peanut-Looey. Between you in your luxury spa visits (hospital) and Shroomster's coma conundrum we had a lot going on. Did you miss the big killer mutant wasp attack of 2012? Loey Rising Star

Hi guys. I know this doesn't belong in this thread so if a moderator could move it I'd appreciate it. Since I've been home from the hospital I can't keep anything in me. Terrible runs. Living in depends. I decided to play detective and called the hospital to see what the name of the food they gave me through the feeding tube was. It was pulmacort. I looked it up and discovered soy was the main ingredient. At least now I know I'll be able to eat again later this week. Staying with water & ice chips. Even jello is too harsh.

Love,

Loey peanut

It has no fiber so it does go thru in a runny fashion. Did you want a topic about it?

Looks like i'll be getting the flu shot this year  Hopefully, i don't get sick afterwards (I know the flu shot doesn't cause it, but lo and behold after i've gotten them i've usually gotten the flu). Maybe its due to the germs in the hospital? Ugh.

I've got a doctors appointment this week to do the standard check up. I'm going to see if i can get my doctor to run the celiac panel (or at the very least the IGA TTG) test again. I wanna see if the numbers have dropped since i've been gluten free.

Praying you won't get sick. I still need my pneumonia shot. I've had it three times in six months. Off the pills but still withdrawing. It's worse twice a day. Right nw I want to sleep but I'm shaking too badly. BTW, since stopping the pain pills my pain levels between a 1 & a two. On them it was a 10. Going to try to sleep - might be back on if I can't. Too tied to deal with junk mail.

Love,

Loey

I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50. US 2024 - Increased Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection in Patients with Celiac Disease 50 Years Old and Older Sweden 2018 - Increased risk of herpes zoster in patients with coeliac disease - nationwide cohort study

BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.

You might try Heallix.  It's a silver solution with fulvic acid. I just put the solution on with a cotton ball.  It seemed to stop the nerve pain. Again,  not in your eyes or ears.   Go to heallix.com to read more about it and decide for yourself Also,  I do think nerve and celiac combined have a lot to do with your susceptibility to shingles breaking out.

Celiac disease requires both genetic potential and a triggering stress event to activate the genes. Otherwise it remains dormant and only a potential problem. So having the genetic potential is not deterministic for celiac disease. Many more people have the genes than actually develop the disease. But if you don't have the genes, the symptoms are likely being caused by something else.

Yes, i pulled raw ancetry data and saw i have 2/3 markers for DQ2.2 but have heard from friends in genetics that this raw data can be wildly innacurate
