  1. i did this one once...unfortunately i didn't realize my mistake until after it was too late. that's always a funny one...uh, yeah i got sick from licking an envelope... i also just had a bad experience today. i got up late, and so didn't fully prepare a lunch. halfway through the day, i have no food, and i'm starving, and one of the girls says she's going...
  2. i believe the brand i buy is called delimex?? i don't quite remember. I bought them at walmart, and called the co while at the store. the lady on the phone assured me they were gluten-free. good price
  3. i love the spinach and feta pizza. i like to add to it though: tomato sauce, canadian bacon, mushrooms, olives, and some string cheese. so good! have you tried their gluten-free macaroni and cheese? i love it! i wish i could take it to work more often, but i don't have the money or the freezer space how was the alfredo?
  4. ditto! a great idea. i have been very frustrated several times w/ dining experiences, and unsure about how to express this to the restaurants.
  5. My favorite SEE'S CANDY is now gluten-free...everything except for the malt truffles (obviously). Woo hoo!
  6. Oh wouldn't that be nice! I know, it's the truth. I've learned it personally over the years as my habits have fluctuated. I just really don't feel like I have the extra energy to go and work out like I would need to. Plus it's cold, and I'm lazy. I kinda just want a quick fix...even though I know what I really need is a lifestyle change. Definitely...
  7. I haven't actually had anything done there...I do know I have an aunt w/ thyroid problems. I'm making an appointment first thing in the morning! I'm not a huge fan of weight loss shakes, bars, etc either. I really ought to work out...wish I had an indoor machine. It's so cold here! I might have to do some research into trimspa
  8. I'd still say the cruise is a good idea (they are supposed to be great for gluten-free accomodations). Disney vacation (we did that, before DX though, and it was a great honeymoon!) Do a gluten-free resort place. I know there's lots of places out there...I remember reading about a couple of resorts. One in mexico, one in az I think, that were completely...
  9. Never tried it, but thought I'd put in a good word for chicken alfredo.... The other night I made the best I've had since going gluten-free!!! I used Classico white sauce (found it at walmart), and poured it over tinkyada pasta (the "thai noodles" are my fave), w/ chicken, some parmesan cheese, and pine nuts. Next time I'm gonna try it w/ some warm spinach...
  10. what's the price range on the light boxes? i've actually been recommended trying one by my dad and my dr. maybe i will.
  11. So I know I ought to be working out. I'm eating right (mostly), and I'm sleeping. But I'm still getting used to working full time, and I don't know how I could be exercising right now. Especially in the winter. And when I never see the sun. But I'm really feeling frustrated by my weight. Are there any gluten-free supplements out there that work? Appetite...
  12. So I was grocery shopping today, and I called to verify heinz's taquitos (i forget the sub-brand)....anyway, the lady mentioned to me that I could find a list of all gluten-free heinz foods online. anyone know where to find it? the site isn't very helpful....
  13. I'd never even thought about cooking them! I'll have to try that. I think the lundberg ones are just as good as any others. I don't really eat them often, but I do try and vary how I enjoy them. I like to put different things on them. Some of my favorite things to eat on rice cakes are peanut butter (sometimes w/ thin curls of chocolate), cream cheese...
  14. hm, i'd love it if there were a gluten-free bakery near me! I have also thought about the business idea. I suppose it's worth a shot...
  15. just had a random thought. is it possible to get glutened by the soap used to clean dishes? what do i need to look for? please let me know. thx!
  16. how does vitamin B help? What does it do? I'll go get some tomrrow. I think I might need to get more than 8 hours right now. It's been a big change for me. I did sit down after lunch and watch a movie, that helped I think. Definitely don't want to crash!
  17. lol too bad the good stuff isn't low in fat...my other big "to do" this year was to shed some weight....
  18. So I don't have dh, but I have awful dandruff. It's been especially bad this winter. I have little sores too, from itching it so badly. It's hard b/c I have dark hair. I try and wash w/ something exfoliating, when I'm not raw, like a scalp treatment. I have tried head & shoulders, and selsum blue (the stuff w/ tar)...but that stuff stinks to high heaven...
  19. mmm, chocolate! i've been craving chocolate so badly lately! maybe b/c i told myself i had to start eating healthy foods, and never restocked the goodies! i'm pretty sure (like almost positive) that Jello brand pudding is safe. I've eaten it before. I just don't any more b/c then I eat it ALL! Thats what happens when you live w/ the only man on earth who...
  20. oooh, i'm glad i logged on today! i was wondering when the next class was gonna be! i hope the snow doesn't make it difficult to get there
  21. how is the recipe w/o any flax? i am thinking of making it today, but don't have flax stuff....
  22. Dragging up an old post here So, found some good suggestions here. But have a few questions. What is everyone's favorite crackers? The only one's I've bought are the Blue Diamond nut thins, and they're a bit....uncrackerish, I would say. I eat 'em but I don't love them. I'm talking about REAL cracker-like crackers. Also, what about crutons? I...
  23. How do I get over this exhaustion? I'm now working 40 hrs a week. Before I was going to school part time... It's a huge plateful, and I'm willing to take it on. I just wish I could get some energy back. Today's my day off, and I've had to fight off sleep all day! Makes all my errands and housework very difficult! I've been trying to get 8 hours of sleep...
  24. I bought some salad dressings, neither of which mention any gluten products. The kraft website says that they state any gluten ingredients. I should be okay then, right? Also, does anyone have a list of kraft products that are gluten-free? I would be interested in browsing that before my next grocery trip... Thanks!
