  1. I just had a very yummy lunch yesterday. I made some french bread into "pizza" crusts, and toasted one, then topped it with tuna/egg salad stuff. It was very yummy. This would be good for any open faced sandwich.
  2. Thanks guys for all the support! I was able to laugh about all this. I did get to use the mixer last night, made some cheezy crackers, which turned out great. I'm not sick either, so I must have cleaned it well. I might still sell it, but I already broke a piece! Lol! I dropped this little metal piece that attatches to the food processor into the bowl...
  3. good idea! never thought about that! i've just been buying mine at walmart, but i'm almost out, so i should go stock up!
  4. no clue what to tell you! good luck though! have you tried things like lactaid? that could help w/ the dairy. I hope you find something you can eat, and soon! I hate being hungry! ((((((HUG))))))
  5. Lol my husband gets like that sometimes. especially when he wants to go out to eat. I get cc most places that he likes to eat. we've started ordering to go it works pretty well! Although he can be really good about things sometimes. He did get a gluten-free cake mix and have his mom make it for my birthday. We need to figure out a way to make...
  6. a good deal! thx!
  7. lol sounds like a pretty good strategy thanks for sharing!
  8. I went to cancun for spring break a few years ago, and it was lots of fun! very americanized, so you shouldn't have a hard time. there's tons to do and see. Plus there's a huge variety of places to eat, so you should be able to find places that serve gluten-free. Have fun
  9. Okay, so I've been keeping this inside and I'm about to explode. Very frustrated with my family. *Brief history* I grew up in a normal, upper class family in Portland, OR. Mostly good childhood/adolescence. Moved to Utah to go to school. Met future husband, dated, then got married (against family wishes). Right before wedding, my mom "snapped"...had...

  12. mmm, sounds yummy! i might just make some breadsticks tonight!...and plan dinner around them
  13. Welcome! Good to have you here! Glad that you're feeling so much better! It's so nice once you finally figure out what's wrong and are able to fix it
  14. I don't know, but I have a great recipe for peppermint bark...I'll repost it sometime!
  15. Pretty sure you're describing Pamela's cookies here. These are my favorite! Her other cookies are okay...pecan shortbread are good, but none of the others compare IMHO. I know Bette Hagman has a recipe for cheddar crackers...I'm gonna look it up cuz I wanted to make it...supposedly taste like cheeseits...that would be a good snack I think
  16. hm, not sure either...
  17. OMG I LOVE Lame Advertisement!!!!! The only thing that I'm sad about is that the orange fiber drink isn't gluten-free! That was my staple for months...probably why I was sick too I take the supplements and drink the tea, eat the chews occasionally, and use the skin/makeup products daily!!!
  18. jessica, that recipe sounds amazing!!!!
  19. you can do some shopping online too. www.amazon .com and www.shopbydiet.com are good places to find gluten free food. just type gluten free into the search. you could also buy your own rice and put it through a grain grinder (if you had one). good luck and glad you found us! lots of good help and recipes here
  20. mmm, sounds really good! i wish i had a reason to make a cake
  21. lol yeah! my 15 year old brother thinks he might have it, but since I live so far away, and the rest of my family thinks i'm just extreme...they tell him not to worry about it. i wish he were more proactive about it! when people bug me about my eating behavior i just tell them very bluntly that if i do eat something w/ gluten i will be sick within a half...
  22. hm, i have heard that the one out here in provo utah will serve tinkyada past if you let them know in advance. i believe you can only have the red sauce. i would give them a call, and see what they can do for you. see if you could bring over a bag of pasta for them to make you. good luck!
  23. thanks patti! i'll give it a try! oooh, coconut milk would be good too, i'm sure. i would only use a very little bit of honey and ginger...the flavor was very faint. both can be overwhelming if overused. i'm excited to try it out myself!
  24. yay! what about regular chocolate covered cherries? i love those
  25. Just got home from a trip to Portland, visiting the fam. Anyway, mom and I went to our favorite restaurant, Newport Bay, and had the above mentioned plate. I absolutely love it! But I don't get out to OR much, and I wanted to recreate the recipe. Anyone ever tried this? The butter is very mild...can't really taste the honey (which is good, cuz I don't much...
