ARCHIVED Need Advice About Going Back To Work As A Teacher...
NoGluGirl replied to Walter S's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Walter, I understand your concern. I cannot work a regular job because of it. I tried to start my own business, but I was defrauded by a company called Digiworld Technologies and lost everything. However, I think I know something you could do. There is a thing called the Specialty Merchandising Corporation. Obtaining your membership... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Carla, Wow! I did not expect medical to cover that! How interesting! TMJ sucks. You know that part by your ear where your jaw connects to the bone? You know how there is supposed to be a padded disk there? Mine is so misaligned, that it cannot do its job, and the bone is scraping against bone. My jaw is always so tense, too. ... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Know Of False Eyelashes That Are Safe?
NoGluGirl replied to NoGluGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear Lynn, I have acne that itches and burns, and eczema. Those are not the same as DH though, are they? I think that is a different thing altogether. My skin tends to be sensitive. I had worn false lashes before with no trouble. I just wanted to be extra careful! Thanks! Sincerely, ... -
ARCHIVED Gluten In My Meds?
NoGluGirl replied to BackTalk's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear BackTalk, I think I know what our fellow poster was talking about. I think it is just www.glutenfreedrugs.com . It sounds simple, but that is good. Complicated is not good. We have it complicated enough already! Sincerely, NoGluGirl -
ARCHIVED Most Recent Delphi List?
NoGluGirl replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear JerseyGirl, It is such a bummer, too! Misinformation can kill us! I had to stop eating the Johnsonville Brats because they have milk protein. I just found out that I do not tolerate it either. I have such a violent reaction to gluten, a microscopic amount of the crap makes me terribly ill. That is what I call a "Why am I still... -
ARCHIVED Girlfriend Of Possible Celiac/gi
NoGluGirl replied to I3Daniel's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear Sami, I need to update something. Someone told me that Hormel Beef Au Jus has made them ill. In fact, two or more people. They have cross-contamination issues. Scratch those and Lay's off except for the Stax. They are made on dedicated lines, but not the other types. Tostitos made me sick recently. I just found this out the other day... -
ARCHIVED Day 4...
NoGluGirl replied to I3Daniel's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear Sami, Anytime for our buddies! We are a tight-knit group! We know how much it sucks to suffer. Easing others pain as much as possible is important to us all on here! It is so funny, because you do not realize you feel good at first! My first thought was "I feel different." Then I realized "I feel better!" "This is what your are... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Andrea, I will do the search. I know there are no biological dentists here, though. I have looked for them. Thank you for the info! My grandfather would not be willing. I know him. There is a sales rep here for Lava crowns, though. I was surprised! My doctor is a holistic physician. I see her next week. Perhaps she could point... -
ARCHIVED Day 4...
NoGluGirl replied to I3Daniel's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear Sami, It is wonderful to find out Daniel is doing better! I do not know what fiber supplements are safe. It is funny, you forget what normal is like. Then when you start feeling better, you think something is wrong! I always eat a couple of plums when I need to ease constipation. Really, apples are great as well. Make sure he eats... -

Dear All, What Deb and Adelle spoke of is all too familiar. In my hometown, we now have 5,149 homeless. There is no reason this should occur. Even worse, many people with real physical disabilities prevented from working due to their ill health (myself, my mother's best friend, and my best friend's mother) are denied assistance. Then, people...

ARCHIVED My Husband Tries To Be Gluten Free
NoGluGirl replied to BamBam's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear BamBam, Diabetes is awful. My grandfather has it. Couple that with Celiac and travel, and you have a royal pain in the butt to deal with! No pun intended. I wonder if he could speak to his employer and see if they could find a way that when he travels he could stay at the Homestead Inn. They have kitchens inside the suites. That... -
Dear BamBam, That is mostly what I do as well. The specialty foods for the most part are too expensive. That is impossible on our budget. So, when I can, I get cake mix from the Chocolate Emporium. It is terrific! You have to make a minimum order of $15, but each cake mix is $3.29 per box. There are three kinds. With shipping, I paid...

Dear MarisaB, I have heard about people reacting to Kettle Chips, too. Utz has some good safe chips. I do not tolerate anything fried well. I had my gallbladder out, so I have to watch my fat intake. Otherwise, I have serious stomach issues. Since going gluten free, my severe reflux and nausea has improved. However, I too, found casein...

ARCHIVED 10 Things I Hate About Celiac
NoGluGirl replied to Mtndog's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Mtndog, Another one to add to the list is people who don't know anything about your disease, but claim you do not really have it! That would be my genius parents. My father tries to give weightloss advice, despite the fact he is not thin either. My mother has serious bowel problems, stomach cramps daily (she eats crackers every day... -
ARCHIVED I Love My Family, But...
NoGluGirl replied to atflyaway's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear atflyaway, I understand where you are coming from. My parents are not gluten free, and I am stuck (against my will) living here. So, keeping things gluten-free is difficult. Dad and Mom are not careful at all, and eat crackers, cereal, and toast near my coffee and stuff. Unfortunately, they did not tell me, and I got sick. They... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear celitiredu, Welcome to the thread! I am glad your seizures stopped. Gluten causes me to have a violent GI reaction. Everyone has different problems with it, I think. Doctors are idiots, it seems. I went through Hell, and I cannot forgive them for doping me up on pills and telling me I was crazy, when I was just sick. This... -
ARCHIVED Public Restroom Issues...
NoGluGirl replied to Walter S's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Walter, There are some things you may not know we could eat.I have a list that should really help. This is overwhelming. I went through this with myself six months ago. You spend most of your day cooking and cleaning obsessively. The rest you are on the phone with reps from companies trying to find out what is safe. I decided to save you... -

ARCHIVED New To Celiac
NoGluGirl replied to ckmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear lorlyn, Trix is safe now? I heard something about it, but was not sure. That is so weird. They should put consumer warnings out on candies and stuff. I hate having to worry constantly about being poisoned from gluten! Dear ckmom, You are welcome! I want this to be as little stress as I can make it for others. ... -
ARCHIVED Can Someone Help Me?
NoGluGirl replied to sweetmag72's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear sweetmag72, I need to correct my list a bit. I found out from some members that Hormel's Beef Au Jus has cross contamination issues. Lay's does as well. Tostitos have made me ill recently. Scratch those off. Lay's products are not made on dedicated lines, except with the Stax. They are safe. I wanted to warn you before anyone... -
ARCHIVED New To Celiac
NoGluGirl replied to ckmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear ckmom, I need to correct something from my list. Other members just told me there are cross contamination issues with the Hormel Beef Au Jus. Tostitos recently made me ill. Lay's are not made on dedicated lines except for the Stax. They are your safest bet. Some companies besides that having cross contamination issues include Bob... -
Dear Lynn, I am glad your girl had a great Easter! Those pocket books are fun to have! There are more options than we tend to acknowledge! You are right, she may be interested in the make-up next year. It varies, though. I loved wearing make-up and wearing heels at three! My grandfather was amazed that I did cartwheels in them! I...

ARCHIVED Gluten-free Moisturizer?
NoGluGirl replied to Izak's Mom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear Izak's Mom, Johnson's Baby Oil is safe! It is terrific! I get incredibly dry skin on my legs and feet. You just exfoliate by having a mix of sugar and water paste on for 15 minutes, then use a rough loofah to slough off the dead skin cells. Then, you apply the oil! Sincerely, ... -
Dear madi, My advice is do not eat out. It is too much of a risk. I won't do it. I get too violent a reaction. No stamps or envelopes! They have gluten in the adhesive. I am extremely sensitive to a microscopic amount of the stuff. I also would like to point out cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, nailpolish, and soaps can make...
