  1. Yes, but the castmember said they provide guides at each of their parks.
  2. City Hall (at Disneyland, to the left once you enter the gates) gave me a print out of everything available at the park gluten free. The guide included the names of chefs and restaurant managers to ask for as well!
  3. I just wanted to let everyone know that I went to Disneyland today for the first time since going gluten-free and discovered that they cater to gluten intolerance, which was a huge relief. The next time you visit any park, just stop by City Hall and ask for their gluten free guide. They will provide you with all of your options and the names of their chefs...
  4. My dad stood up once and hit his back hip area against a doorknob, and he got a nice size bruise. Over time he developed a little nodule that he chose to ignore, which got larger and larger over a year. He eventually had to have it surgically removed. The doctor said that the hit caused this fat pocket to grow (it looked like a tumor). Admittedly, this...
  5. I'm gluten intolerant and do not have Celiac Disease, but suffered with sinus infections and chronic bronchitis before going gluten free. Since making the switch, I'm proud to report that I haven't had one cold, sinus infection, etc. For just this reason, I highly recommend that you adhere to a gluten free diet--I'm amazed how much stronger my immune system...
  6. Yikes! Have you had your liver enzymes tested? If you're experiencing pain then that would mean your liver is inflammed, right? That might be something to get tested. Pain in that area is also commonly associated with gallbladder, too.
  7. I personally wouldn't tred these waters, although I once contemplated this myself. If you
  8. I would suggest pilates as well. It's a great way to get started with exercising, especially for those with injuries or arthritis. Also, do your best to drop or eliminate as much as possible the processed foods--they're a killer on the waistline, especially if you can't exercise vigoriously. Also, I would recommend that you read "French Women Don't Get...
  9. I think about the long, happy life I will live without gluten, versus the sick one I would have continued living with gluten. If gluten can shorten my life or jeopardize my happiness for just a moment, I don't want it. Treat yourself to something yummy that's gluten free . . . maybe you've been neglecting your sweet tooth. Have you tried the gluten-free...
  10. I suggest you add Psyllium Husks into his diet. I add them into my smoothies in the morning and it keeps me regular. I even give it to my cat! You can buy it by the can at any health food store and a couple month's worth is only $7-8.
  11. Hi, Sadly for many of us who have been sick for years, our whole worlds have been turned upside down. Like someone who had a spinal cord injury and needs to learn to walk again, we need to learn to embrace life and transisition from being a "sickly" person to being healthier and more vivacious . . . this is an enormous step and it's completely normal for...
  12. I used to get like that when I ate wheat: sneezy, itchy, achy...sounds like you're just reacting to the wheat. As for myself, beside being gluten intolerant, I'm allergic to grasses, which of course includes wheat, so I get cold-like symptoms when I eat it. I usually would feel better within a few days after an episode. I probably don't need to say...
  13. Add me to the mono list (Yikes!). I had it when I was 17 and things got far worse following the illness. Prior to that, I had suffered throughout childhood with digestive problems, had chronic upper respiratory illnesses and D and cramping. I also had my appendix removed when I was in 6th grade and I remember my issues getting more intense afterward, but...
  14. She only eliminated sugar, both white and brown. The sugar from fruits and vegetables don't cause issues with hormones from what we were told and read. After everything cleared up, she introduced it slowly back into her diet and now knows how much she can eat without causing breakouts.
  15. Although my symptoms weren't as severe as yours, my did just appear out of the blue. Like another person noted, looking back I did see many signs over the years but didn't realize how problematic they really were: D, gas, cramps after eating--they just became a way of life. I was never officially diagnosed with Celiac because I went gluten free almost a year...
  16. PS what are you stuffing the turkey with? I know I won't be using the gluten free bread I attempted to make today--it turned into a glob of glue. I think I'll try some sort of rice concoction.
  17. Hi! My sister suffered her entire life with acne--and when I suffered, I mean suffered. She had really bad acne throughout her teens and well into her adult life. She tried everything . . . every medication, face wash, astringent, mask .... nothing work. She continued to have acne and would even break out it boil-like blemishes. Finally she had a doctor...
  18. I wish the best to you! Thank you for the advice. I haven't been tested for endometriosis, but I think I will now!
  19. Very interesting! I will definitely talked to my doctor about this. . . thanks!
  20. Great advice. I too was going to suggest you read Danerous Grains. You need to really understand gluten intolerance, even if you don't have Celiac. I'm gluten free even though my tests came up negative. I feel so fortunate that I made the decision because I finally feel awesome. Also, I was hypoglycemic like you, and it's getting better and better every day...
  21. I had every one of your symptoms before completely giving up wheat years ago . . .and then voila! they all disappeared. However, about six months ago I started feeling sick again (gastritis) and went through a slew of tests, but because I hadn't been eating wheat for so long, the tests didn't turn up much. I decided on my own to go completely gluten free...
  22. It's grea to know we have another one of our side. Tell your son thanks on all of our behalfs!
  23. I know exactly how you feel. I had similar issues that I had to work through after dealing with D for so long. However, my husband was more in line with how you're feeling. He used to have urgent D attacks all the time. It got to be so that he would have anxiety attacks when he felt "trapped" without an escape route to the restroom. This affected us both...
  24. LiZ Maude has a good point. This happened to me when I had gastritis . . . do you have ingestion, too? If I were you, I would try cutting out the smoothies from the cafe for a month or so and see if you feel better. My favorite smoothie place promised my smoothie was gluten free but I kept feeling sick each time I had one. Also, have you traveled outside...
  25. I personally get gassy with soy, but my husband has had more significant reactions. Being lactose intolerant, he began eating soy frequently, and soon his voice started cracking! We attributed to the phytoestrogens in Soy and he quit eating it. Glad to report that he talks like a man again!
