  1. I called again after hours out of curiosity, and yep, if I had been patient I would have gotten to the right thing. It started out as a voicemail that said something to the effect of not having service...but then it directed somewhere else, to "Wines US" or something. So I took a sip, then stopped because I suddenly realized the night I thought I drank...
  2. To the original poster...don't feel bad about being paranoid. That's how one has to be if they wanna stay gluten-free! I'm definitely on the paranoid side with this diet too. It's like, every unknown food is a potential bomb in my digestive system. Don't want that...high alert! Anyway I drink the coffee and mocha frappucino's fine. I never ask them to...
  3. Haha I agree with everything you said in there, verbatim.
  4. It's difficult. Good luck with it. I have a small social life as it is, which has probably worked in my favor. But it will be a drastic change, as far as restaurants. Be prepared to perhaps do a lot of sitting around and sipping on coke while others eat, if you still want to be able to hang out with friends. I've been lucky to be surrounded by people...
  5. I called the number from their site earlier today and kept getting a voicemail or something odd. Either that was the right number, and I was just confused, or I misdialed or...something. Boo. And I'm so annoyed at Pamprin too (on another note). I contacted them via email over a month ago and have heard nothing back, and they have no number. Kind of makes...
  6. Thanks. But I don't see it on there? I guess it falls under wine, so it should be okay. I'm just worried about the "wine coolers sometimes have malt" thing. I'm not even sure if it's a wine cooler, but it's not just pure wine either.
  7. Is Arbor Mist wine gluten free? I bought it thinking it was...I think I even drank some after being gluten-free before and was okay...yet suddenly I'm getting paranoid with doubts. I found some threads saying it was okay, but those were from 2004, 2005...anyone? Please? I want to drink it lol.
  8. Really, that's what that odd taste is with Amy's? I love garlic. But I have noticed that a lot Amy's foods all have this same...odd...taste to them. That's like...eeck. The only two that DON'T have it, that I actually eat, are the mac n cheese and the cheese enchiladas. But the other more 'dinner' types I've tried that have rice and other stuff, I bit...
  9. I feel your desperation, and when you said "I'll do anything to feel better..." my advice would be, maybe you need to take a step back and eliminate a lot more from your diet first. Do some hardcore research of brands/etc that are confirmed gluten free instead of trying to go from labels. I'm sure I lean toward the side of paranoia, but I've been doing this...
  10. I have a pet peeve against people who critizice others' grammar/English or are always jumping to point out when something is incorrect, even though they know that they know what the other person meant to say. Shh...this thread is probably not for me, then... *hides*
  11. For what it's worth, I drink the "Grain" vodka fine. Whatever the standard vodka is that they use in bars (I get White Russians) and Skky vodka have been fine for me. On the other hand, potato vodka makes me feel more drunk and nauseas than the grain. I bought some to be safe early on, and drank it and was ...bleech. For a while after I couldn't even smell...
  12. Not all movie popcorn is gluten free from my experience. The two theaters near me, we'd called ahead and they said they were and it was fine. I ate their popcorn and all was well. Then I went to another state, and we went to see a movie. I can't remember what the company was. I asked the people if they knew whether it was gluten free, and of course they...
  13. Yeah sorry to say I have not found a replacement yet. I love CheezIts, those used to be my favorite junk food kinda snack. No such luck yet. I tried those chedder nut thins too and they are just not the same, lol.
  14. Huh interesting. Just to throw out my experience. I've always been thin. The first few months of going gluten-free, I got thinner, maybe lost 2-4 pounds. I think there's no mystery though...I was still in college and suddenly thanks to the diet, over half the stuff I used to eat I could no longer eat. So I had to scrape around for corn tortillas, and could...
  15. I didn't think Maalox was gluten free. I can't confirm but for some reason I have that in my head. I've used Tums for heartburn...but not the 'fruit smoothie' flavors because those are not gluten free. But, Zantac and regular Tums (peppermint flavor) work. And I've never dared to try McDonald's fries and don't plan to anytime soon. Five Guys fries...
  16. Thanks for the response. In this case, I'd be glad not to be unusual lol! It's going to be 3 years in January that I've been on the diet. My mom is always egging me to go see a nutritionist or something and I'm like "ehh" because all that stuff bores me. I only pay attention to what I eat now because I have to, lol. but what I really need to do...
  17. Hi. Not sure if this is the right section to post this in...feel free to bump it around. Also if this has been addressed, I apologize. Feel free to direct me to the already existent thread. That said. I think I'm...I had a little realization of sorts. I'm curious, in the period shortly AFTER going gluten-free for the first time, has anyone experienced...
  18. I didn't drop out, but I did start the gluten free diet in my last semester of college. Boy that was a fun semester. Went gluten-free, had a near stress-breakdown of sorts (not that I think it's connected...although who knows, maybe it secretly was? never thought about that before)... and then 33 people get shot/murdered on my campus....and then that was...
  19. I might have to try that about calcium/magnesium thing. And yes, asking the doctor for painkiller might help as person above me suggested, but again I went to three different kinds of doctors and they all said "birth control or Celebrex." I made a slight noise after a second appointment about tylenol codeine and the doc mentioned how that was a narcotic...
  20. Ahhhh yes. The dilemma of period cramps. I have a similar problem in that I'm in a quandry. I have a post a few pages back asking about Pamprin. The site says they do not have gluten in them, but I just wanted confirmation from either people on this site or from them and haven't gotten either yet. I might just jump in and try it next month. But I'm not...
  21. I don't mind the new board. I noticed it for about a milisecond and then kept looking for whatever I was looking for. We'll get used to it. We're the masters of adaptability what with our removing 85% of existent convenient food diet and all.
  22. Now if that's true...that just ain't right. People with a wheat allergy could die. And all the gluten-intolerants out there get terribly sick, and can also offset years of the dieting (as far as cancer risk) with one glutenous blow. And if it is thanks to those faking-dieters, who claim they "can't" eat something when it's exaggerated and for attention...
  23. Haha yeah um...that's why those are what I had when starting out, but not anymore. Because I thought they tasted pretty crappy. Warming them up does help but...eeh. Would rather use something else like glutino bread or whatever.
  24. Yay glad I could help!
  25. Good idea. I purposely chose a gluten free one that was resting at the top for the drippage reason. But next time I might just ask for it from the back to be safe.
