  1. Hmm, that sounds good. I was eying that tomato soup too. Thanks. Mayhaps I shall try it one day (but probably on a Friday, in case I DO get sick lol, at least I won't miss work). Thank you!
  2. Am I the only one who eats Amy's regularly and doesn't get sick? I eat some of her soups, some of her salad dressing, her (rice pasta) mac n' cheese, (rice crust) pizza now and then (although I don't like how it tastes), and cheese enchiladas. I've tried some of her other microwave stuff but really think it tastes kinda bad. But the rest, I eat frequently...
  3. Anyone? *tear* C'mon, only have 4 more weeks left lol...and Pamprin still hasn't written me back.
  4. I got corn tortillas just in a generic food store, not even in a health section or anything. I'm not sure what aisle they'd be grouped in...since it probably depends on the store. I think in Kroger it was near the olives and spaghetti sauce, or something weird. But...the point...I think they can be found in any ol' grocery store. Maybe just ask a grocery...
  5. Don't beat yourself up too much. Your body is already doing enough of that on its own. Feel better.
  6. Oh, nice. Thank you. I have one of those sort of close to where I work, might be nice to try. So you've eaten some of their salads with no problem? (I'm so cynical and non-trusting lol. Just because they say it does not have gluten/"wheat" doesn't convince me...because it's not JUST wheat, you know? lol.)

    ARCHIVED Appendicitis?

I had my appendix out when I was 10. I went to the general practioner for my intense burning abdomen pain that was not getting any better. He told me I had an upset stomach, but then somehow noticed my neck and discovered I had hashimoto's/thyroid disease. (Well, he suspected it and told me and my mom to check it out and sure enough, I have hypothyroidism...
  8. Hmm, tryin' to think. When I started I went to Whole Foods, and now some stores where I live have a dedicated generic "health" section which seem to include gluten free stuff. And I bought gluten-free pasta, some gluten-free crackers, etc. Just to have some stuff to munch on. Salad, lettuce, all that is good. I like Drew's dressing. Again a whole' food...
  9. My advice on this. As with everything else, when in doubt, don't. As someone suggested, call the specific theater beforehand and see if their stuff is okay. The two theaters near me were okay, I ate the popcorn fine and blah blah. Then I went to another theater in another state. Different company...but, thinking on a whim...maybe just maybe I'd have it...
  10. Wanted to add my props for BD's Mongolian Grill as well. I was eating out with friends and they suggested this place. I was mortified, of course, because I'm hesitant to eat at any new place that I don't already know is safe. but they did the research and wrote down the gluten free items for me, etc., so I went with. I winced at the fact that the chicken...
  11. Hi. I've had issues with menstural cramps. Someone suggested Pamprin, and my automatic reaction was "ehh I don't know if it's gluten free..." I checked that glutenfreedrugs.com list, and it was not on there. However, Pamprin's site says in the FAQ "No" to containing gluten. They have several varieties of Pamprin, but the FAQ just said "Does your...
  12. Oh Lord. Really? Somehow my mom found a way a while ago so that we were stocked up on synthroid for the past several years without needing refills so I've been fine. But mine are running low lately. Perhaps I should ask for the generic brand when I get it again. What is the generic brand? Thanks for this thread. And like someone said...often times...
  13. Oh Lord, I could barely even finish that list. What do you eat then, beef? Not trying to emphasize how difficult it must be for you but, dang. I get bitter enough from time to time with the gluten restriction. But then you have so much more, plus it seems so arbitrary (I mean quail? Octopus? String cheese?). God's speed to you!! :/
  14. I will answer this since I am "self-diagnosed" gluten intolerant. Since I never had the biopsy, I don't claim to be Celiac because I do not know for sure if I am or not and am not about to eat gluten just to know for sure. But gluten intolerant, yes. Why? The answer is simple. I was at the end of my rope not even wanting to live with the sickness and...
  15. At work the other day, I saw someone eating a piece of cake and for a moment my stomach turned. It's intermittent to me. Sometimes I am envious of the nice smells of pizza, etc. But for some reason, looking at cakes and cupcakes etc. sometimes makes my stomach turn. Definitely not a gluten attack for me by any stretch of the imagination. But still,...
  16. Ooh I like this thread! Glass half full! A few months ago, I tried Bove's Vodka Sauce. In all the following months after, I would randomly crave it off and on. More than I usually crave food. So just yesterday, I made some (gluten free) pasta with the sauce. Yey. Open Original Shared Link Some good stuff there. I don't know why I crave/like it...
  17. Oh...and lol to your comment about the mom. My mom has done the same thing. She's done tons of research, subscribed to clan thompson, made a binder of safe foods...etc. I'm more lazy and check things out of necessity. Frankly nutrition, food, diets, physical health... all that stuff bores me. but now, I'm forced to think about it! Boo. But yeah, thankfully...
  18. Everyone's already given good advice. I eat shredded cheese, Heinz ketchup and salad dressing too. But, like has been said, you just have to make sure the brand and type is okay. I don't make blanket statements...all of 'this' brand are okay, or all of 'this' food are okay... cuz ya never know. So like, you can't say "Ooooh yeah all cheese is perfectly...
  19. Cool, thanks for the response and the link. I shall have to start using it again.
  20. Does anyone use Spike seasoning safely? I had it in my head that this was not gluten-safe for some reason, but recently heard otherwise. I used to like Spike so it would be nice to use it again. Anyone? Thanks.
  21. That gluten-free drugs link someone gave on here is good. I'm not sure if it is ALL inclusive, but I always bring it to the doctors whenever I go and make them pick something from on there. I started taking LoOvral for cramps etc. it's gluten free. The nuvaring someone mentioned on here sounds intriguing.
  22. This made me laugh too. Perhaps only we sufferers understand it! And you paid $65 for that crap? I'm sure that's just what everyone paid, but that's ridiculous. If they couldn't give you a sufficient meal, there should have been a refund. Maybe you should call them back and be like "Give me at least $55 back!!" I lucked out once. Very early...
  23. I've never tried them. I eat regular altoids all the time. I was hoping someone would respond to you because they sound good and I want to eat them. I found this online, but you seem to already know this much anyway. So yeah, if anyone has an answer to if these have been 'safe' when eaten or not, let us know! "Thank you for writing to inquire about ingredients...
  24. I concur. One time I ordered take-out from Outback Steakhouse. I did the online ordering and wrote 'gluten free!!!' a million times. Then I called just to make sure they got the GLUTEN FREE!!! part. Then they asked if I wanted bread with it, and I was all "Um, duh, NO!!" So after I go to pick up my food. What do I see? A stupid little bread loaf tucked...
  25. Regarding the hot sauce. Somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I remember that "everything is gluten-free except the flour tortillas and the hot sauce." So I've always avoided that. Something about the vinegar in that one, I thought. So the 'hot' salsa is a no-no, but the mild pico de gallo is fine, as is the medium salsa, as is the corn salsa. But...
