  1. I'm going to copy this and email it to my husband! He will love it!! PS: the warning about the peepee should have come first, I almost wet myself laughing!
  2. I think a website for this cause would be an excellent idea! It would give other parents going through this a place to go for advice and information.
  3. Since it has only been 2 weeks, he could be detoxing. This means that his body is still eliminating gluten from his system. Give it three months for real improvement. He has had this, unknown and untreated, for 30 years. That makes for a lot of damage, which needs a lot of time to heal.
  4. Yes, some reactions do go on for long periods of time. I am currently having a bad reaction to ragweed pollen, and it will continue from now until the first hard frost. I am using everything the doctor gave me for it, and still can't breathe well enough to eat very much. The diarrhea has let up, though, so I don't feel quite so miserable. If this reaction...
  5. Doll, You use a shampoo that contains wheat? I take it, then, that you do not have the habit of chewing your hair (like my daughter does) or sometimes pushing your hair out of your face right before taking a bite of food held in your hand (like many women do). I also take it to understand that you never find a strand of hair in your food after you have...

    ARCHIVED New Dr.

I have to agree with the other posters. Your kids are doing so much better, why jeopardize their health again just so another doctor can run tests? Isn't the first rule of medicine to first do no harm? Doesn't gluten harm your kids? Why, oh why, can't doctors understand this?
  7. The difference is this: All grains are seeds, but not all seeds are grains. Is that as clear as mud?
  8. My favorite root beer ever (yumyum!) is Nature's Brew.
  9. I have multiple respiratory allergies that cause severe nasal symptoms. The worst was the congestion. No drug on the market could wipe out my congestion. When I stopped eating gluten, the congestion went away. It was an intolerant reaction to the gluten. You could very well have the same complication.
  10. I use Solaray brand for my supplements.
  11. I like the way you merged the two threads. It makes less confusion when I am clicking on threads to read.
  12. This has turned into a most interesting discussion. I can see both points of view. Now I have to let them sink into my brain and ferment for a while. Thanks for the food for thought.
  13. My thoughts, exactly.
  14. I was always told that the reason rich people were called blue-bloods was because they never went outside, so their skin was very pale, almost translucent, and you could see their veinous blood through the skin. Interesting to hear about the silver connection!
  15. This is how my sister's allergist explained it to me: when the body is having a histamine reaction, systems tend to shut down. This includes the appetite, which leads to weight loss. Also, the intestinal tract is a mucous membrane, so it oozes mucous when a histamine reaction happens. This causes diarrhea, which causes weight loss. The body needs energy...
  16. Would that be the thread where the original poster was claiming that all autoimmune diseases were actually yeast infections? If so, Scott might have pulled it because it was very false and misleading.
  17. Allergic reactions cause many symptoms, not just asthma, hives, and anaphlyxia. My egg/poultry allergy causes severe migraines. My allergist called it all in my head, but my sister's allergist said it is an allergy, just with different symptoms. One symptom of an allergy can easily be weight gain or loss. As for colloidal silver, a woman I used to know...
  18. ThermaCare heat wraps. They work fantastic on my back. I like the fact that they are portable, dry, and can be worn under clothes.
  19. Ooh, yum! I have eaten apples fresh from the tree at my grandma's that were bright red all the way through, those were the sweetest! Grandma said they were worthless as pie/canning apples because they were too sweet, so us kids got to eat all we wanted of them.
  20. I think the culprit is the caramel coloring. I use McCormick's.
  21. Try clicking on your user name, then find all posts. Since you posted on the thread you are looking for, it should be saved on your posts.
  22. My only problem with treadmills and gazelles is that they promote tendonitis and plantar fasciitis if you do not stretch very well before, during, and after your workout.
  23. I'm glad your drug is cheap! I filled a prescription for Maxalt for my migraines yesterday: $160 for 9 little pills!! Thank God the insurance paid 80% of that, or I would still be suffering! Lynne, it is interesting that you mention the t-vertebrae in relation to migraines and menstrual cycles. I did notice the day before this migraine that my spine...
  24. You do not need a doctor's permission to eat gluten free. Just do the diet. Try it for 6 weeks or more, see how you feel. It is possible to have the disease, but not enough damage to show up anywhere.
  25. Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, Albuterol, Patanol, Nasacort, and a really good filter on my air conditioner. I struggle mightily to breathe when harvest is occurring around here! BTW, my town is smaller than yours: 1 square mile!!
