  1. I can easily tolerate small amounts of it, but my body is too sensitive to the phytoestrogens in it to eat very much. It has nothing to do with anyone or thing else, just my supersensitive body!
  2. I only got one wrong! I never can remember the rule about parking on hills, except to make sure I apply the parking brake.
  3. This part I have to disagree with. If I don't have some form of protein for breakfast, my blood sugars drop to dangerous levels. This is something that each person will have to work out for themselves.
  4. Carbs, fat, and protein are not the problems. It is how much you eat of each one and how much you exercise that are the problems. Try taking a 15 minute walk each day, or using the stairs instead of the elevator for one flight, or parking at the outer edge of the parking lot and walking to the building. When you want dressing with your salad, put the dressing...
  5. I don't know of any way to clear the gluten out of your system faster. I'm sorry I can't help with that. When I get glutened, I get anxious, depressed, manic, and suicidal. As long as I stay away from the gluten, I'm not manic or suicidal. Therefore, I don't cheat!
  6. I used to have Norton. Then a virus came out that attacked Norton, and my cpu had to be wiped. It ate my soundcard, though. Now I use System Suite.
  7. I got out my crockpot yesterday, and put some beef and acorn squash in it to cook all night. I ate some for breakfast, and will have more for either lunch or dinner. After spending the past week trying to figure out how to handle breakfast on a busy morning, maybe I have finally hit on the solution! Now I will just have to experiment with crockpot meals...
  8. When you bake something like a cake or banana bread, it will get done in the middle if you make it into cupcakes or use a regular-size muffin tin. I have never been able to get a full-size cake/bread to cook in the middle without burning on the outside.
  9. I guess I am one of the fortunate few. Allergies and intolerances have ruled diets on all sides of my family, in-laws included, for generations. No one hollers about what anyone is able to eat or not eat. For gifts from trips, we always try for t-shirts or knick-knacks. I am very sorry that your mil is that way to you.
  10. Happy Birthday!!
  11. The first part of my post was along the lines of the original post about food pellets. The second part was in reference to the mind-set training, classic conditioning. I am serious about the possible need for help from a professional. It is a mental block that needs to be dealt with properly. I am sorry if my post sounded unsupportive, it certainly was...
  12. Thanks for the advice, Ursula. I'm using the book as a starting point, and I already knew many foods I am intolerant of. It's not easy, but like you said, "if I don't look after myself, nobody will." My husband is having fits, saying that I don't eat enough as it is. I tried to explain to him that I can eat as much as I want of foods that don't make me...
  13. Col air triggers spasms in my lungs. So does swimming in cool water. I have had a rough year with my asthma from allergies, and look for it to be worse this winter. I always wear a scarf doubled around my mouth and nose when it is cold enough to trigger an attack. I really feel for you, you are much farther north than I am, and asthma is miserable!
  14. My cat and dog foods have flavors. Each shape/color is a different flavor, and the animals will pick out the flavors they want to eat each time they go to the bowl. Perhaps our food pellets should be that way, so that our tastebuds get a workout when we eat. I am sorry that you do not enjoy eating. Perhaps a good therapist could help you overcome the...
  15. Head Start programs in Kansas are regulated by the state. Yelling at kids, threatening them, hitting them, forcing them to do anything is not allowed. If you do not get to talk to the supervisor, call your state's child welfare department and turn them in. The state will investigate, and the matter will be taken care of. As far as homeschooling your...
  16. So eating out is out. Do you carry a lunch with you when you are going to be gone all day?
  17. It is most interesting to read this thread. I am glad that I am not the only one that knows that cutting calories too much actually leads to weight gain!
  18. Celiac cannot be ruled out, only in. Since you had a negative blood test, it could just be that you do not have enough intestinal damage to get a positive blood test. If you try the diet for six weeks to three months, you can determine for yourself if you are gluten intolerant. Your rash does not sound like anything I have ever seen caused by flea bites...
  19. You need to talk to your doctor. The ligaments and muscles holding your hip joint in place may be stretched and/or stressed, so they are not working properly. There could also be a problem with the joint that needs to be fixed. I'm sure it must be frustrating to not be able to move!
  20. Hi Ursula. I bought the Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type book, and learned that it is all about how different lectins affect your blood. I am trying to follow the diet, but since mine says no corn or potatoes, I am almost lost. I know that those foods make me feel sluggish and worn out, but what do I eat instead? I have been eating squashes, but they take...
  21. Yes, that's the baby from my other avatar. I can't believe he is 1, and toddling around already. He just cut through his eighth tooth, and went through Wal Mart telling everyone "Hi."
  22. My daughter caught a virus that made her feel like that. The doc said it would take a couple of weeks to pass.
  23. I bought the Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type book, and I'm using its guidelines for my elimination diet. I managed to stick to it one whole day so far.
  24. The damage to the villi is why I use liquid supplements. It dissolves much easier. You might also see about trying sublingual meds. Talk to your pharmacist about getting your meds in a form easier for your body to use. I go to a small pharmacy, simply because it is easier to get the help I need. Wal Mart is just too big and too busy.
  25. I have a pup that I think is part pitbull, and I have researched the breed to see what I was up against. I learned that the jaws don't lock, the dogs are trained not to let go. They also have to be trained to be vicious and aggressive . My pup won't be trained that way, and I socialize him with other animals and people all the time. I hope that you will...
