  1. Thanks for the update!
  2. You also might not be getting enough fiber in your diet. If there isn't enough bulk, the muscles won't be able to push it through.
  3. Are you in an apartment or a dorm? Do you have a fridge, a microwave, and a crockpot? Throwing a chunk of beef into a crockpot with some raw veggies and letting it cook all day is cheap and quick. You can make 2-4 meals that way, just fridge or freeze leftovers in single-serving comtainers.
  4. I got "The Notebook" for Christmas, and I just bought "The Lakehouse", so I just might spend my night watching movies! Anyone who wants to join me is welcome to drop in!
  5. Open Original Shared Link There is an entire thread on this forum about liver flushes. I don't believe in them. The flushes can be done best by simply eating less processed foods and drinking more water. Your liver is designed to flush itself out and maintain itself. The same is true for your colon. You could take beneficial herbs, which would be...

I can see both new avatars. Absolutely gorgeous!
  7. Congratulations Angie! I will be at home, watching movies alone, maybe watching my grandson, trying not to fall asleep before midnight. Maybe I will pop in now and then.
  8. age 42, officially diagnosed Sept. 15, 2004, glutenfree since February 14, 2004.
  9. Vicki, if you live in the United States, and your daughter attends a licensed preschool/daycare, inform the teachers that the next time your daughter's things are used for anyone/thing other than your daughter, you will report their negligence to the licensing board. If you bring soap, towels, whatever for your child to use, it is to have your child's name...
  10. My favorite gift to display is the pictures of my grandson: in one, he is dressed in a leather jacket and bandanna, riding a motorcycle; the second has him wearing dress pants and a white shirt standing next to a thing that rich folks put statues on (reminds me of a scholar!); and the third has him wearing the leather jacket again, this time with his hair...
  11. I have to agree with BroncoBux. Educate your teachers, otherwise you are the dumb one. As a former daycare provider, I can tell you that you need to give written, literal instructions about how to handle every little instance. Why didn't you give the preschool two towels, one for her table and one for her hands? Or a container of disposable disinfecting...
  12. I'm glad that you are having good days! Perhaps you have become anemic with the poor digestion. Hopefully the digestive aids will continue to help you, and you will start to feel even better!
  13. That's the problem with some forms of depression: not everyone has someone that will drag them out for exercise outdoors. The weather is not always cooperative, either: it's hard to walk in sunshine when you have a week straight of rain and clouds. Sunshine and exercise also does not cure all forms of depression (they do nothing for my hormone imbalance...
  14. Maybe we need to let the manufacturers know that we have no desire or inclination to read through the impossibly small fine print of a mile-long ingredients list. I sure don't need to eat all of the chemicals they add to food to make it "better" for me!
  15. Sunshine and exercise are good for depression, but if yours is anything like mine, you just don't care enough to get out of bed. You could try St John's Wort, but I recommend going to the doc first to make sure your depression doesn't have a physical cause. Mine is caused by chemical and hormonal imbalances. I refuse to use HRT, so I take Lexapro every...
  16. Nothing is wrong with you, Cathy. You're human, just like us. For breakfast, I like to eat the previous night's leftovers or a fruit/yogurt smoothie. I only use 100% fruit juices, real fruit, and lite vanilla yogurt in my smoothies. I have gotten to where I don't like sorting through a long list of ingredients to determine if I can eat something...
  17. Using critical thinking, I see no evidence whatsoever that this story is true. I can make up things like those so-called experiments, and put them on a website. Without proper referencing, I cannot check to see if I am being told the truth. An article like this would not change my mind if I ate cereal every day.
  18. The doc said the rash is a yeast/fungus rash, caused by the contents of his diarrhea. We are now using a medicine twice a day to see if it clears up. The diarrhea is still happening, though, and the doc wants a diet log kept, telling what he eats and when he has diarrhea. This spring, he will do allergy tests.
  19. Whoo, this thread sounds so negative!! Or maybe it is the artist in me that rarely comes out to play! When I drive past a wheat field, I see the beauty of the shadows rippling across the surface. I see the glorious hues in the sunlight. I see farmers able to support their families for another season (that's the practical side of me). When I look at a...
  20. Happy birthday, JenVan! And I think I saw a birthday thread with your name on it, so happy birthday to you, Judy!!
  21. I've seen problems with dairy cause stools the color you are describing. My grandson is very pale with the dark rings around his eyes, but his doc won't do any tests until spring. He says the boy is growing well and too active to be very sick. Leaky gut is when the intestines let large particles of food into the bloodstream. This causes the immune system...
  22. Danishes, popovers, and muffins, all without eggs, potato, and rice, would be awfully nice.
  23. What probably happened is that there were no new replies. Thus, it is still there, just not on the front pages or the new posts pages. If you had said something bad, you would have been told.
  24. Friday, Dec 22, at 9 a.m. central time, Haden will see his doctor about his rash and diarrhea. His doc wants to test for allergies, so his mommy is going to ask him about the celiac. I just want everyone to try him on the diet for 6 weeks, and see if there is any improvement. Several people (me included!) will be calling her in the afternoon to see what...
  25. I get it when my sinuses are inflamed. Just the slightest pressure in the maxillus cavities causes severe mouth pain for me. I use ibuprofen, antihistamines, and decongestants to relieve the pressure and pain.
