Cortisone cream also works well for chapped lips. -
OAS is Oral Allergy Symptom. You shouldn't have a serious reaction from the testing. If it is the skin prick test you will get some swelling. It could be bad swelling if you are allergic. If there is swelling they will keep you there if they feel they need to until the swelling has gone down. They may give you Benadryl or put a cream on the area tested...

ARCHIVED Can Anyone Recomend A Diet Rotation Book?
Juliebove replied to Littllemel's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Sorry, no. It's a HUGE book. Wouldn't fit in my scanner. Plus even if I were able to get a scan to post it, I think that would be a copyright violation. Surely there must be an online chart? Let me Swagbuck it... This might help: Open Original Shared Link Or this: Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED New Allergy Or Intolerance?
Juliebove replied to stef-the-kicking-cuty's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My last intolerance test showed that I am intolerant to green coffee beans. Whether or not that means I can drink roasted coffee beans I do not know. I just don't drink coffee to begin with so I guess I never will. I did drink it many years ago. I don't know if it was a problem or not. But you can be allergic to anything! -
ARCHIVED Can Anyone Recomend A Diet Rotation Book?
Juliebove replied to Littllemel's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I just started reading this book today: Open Original Shared Link 4th one down. Starts with the name Prescription. Some of it seemed like outdated info. and a lot of it won't apply to you. But there is a section on rotation diets and it has a chart in there to use. -

ARCHIVED Need Rotational Diet Examples
Juliebove replied to Littllemel's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Ah, military. Yep, yep. My husband is in the Coast Guard. We have had three tests done. The first two were IgG blood tests. But one Dr. was rip off in many ways and we won't go back there. Plus he charged over $2,000 for the test and it is not covered by insurance. Next Dr. was cheaper but she is now dead. The last test was a hair test. This... -
Good luck with the test! In our cases, no food allergies were found. I do have OAS and we do have intolerances. There are two forms of testing. One is simply a blood test. The other is the prick test. It doesn't hurt these days like it did back when I had one some 30 years ago.

I wish she would speak up for herself but she just won't. I think this year she finally is hanging out with some kids that are nice to her but I'm not really sure. She is so busy with dance I haven't gotten to meet any of her new friends. In the past she hung out with kids that were very abusive to her. To the point of stealing her things. And saying...

Milk and flour are not allowed on phase 1. And she isn't overly fond of omelettes. She does order them once in a while in a restaurant just because they are an option. Frankly there isn't enough time in the morning to cook anyting. I have a hard enough time getting her up. And I have never been one to cook breakfast. I am severely intolerant to...

ARCHIVED Need Rotational Diet Examples

That avatar is sooo cool! But I am a little confused at what you need to do. Are you allowed to eat those things and have to rotate them? Or you have to totally avoid them? Or are looking for other intolerances? For me, I outgrew a dairy allergy. The Dr. told me never to eat it because it had made me so sock. But... My daughter had outgrown... -
So... I am just now reading the book and I think the first two weeks will be the worst! She will not really be able to fully go on it till we do our grocery shopping on Fri. because right now the cupboard is pretty bare. But the problem? She is refusing to eat breakfast or eat at school. She has to do both. You can not skip meals on this diet I...

I am looking at drugstore.com and do not see wheat listed. But they do have soy. -
I don't think my daughter has noticed a difference but then she got to mainly add things to her diet. The only things she can't have that she could have before are some nuts she never ate, coconut and a few herbs. I had a weird sort of nasal thing. Like a tickle/itch that would never go away and weird, watery nose bleeds that got more and more frequent...

Thanks! It was hair testing. The results said mint, thyme and marjoram. Daughter can't have basil or marjoram but can have the others. So I think I want to eliminate only those things with mint in the name.

Wow! I wonder if they all put flour on the cheese? We have had problems with them bringing a salad with a lone crouton then trying to just pick it off. Or acting annoyed when we ask for a special salad. I didn't know about the quiona either. Hmmm... I have had the gluten-free pasta and it didn't taste like quinoa. My daughter can't have quinoa. So...

I don't know if it's a problem or not. Something was a problem. Or some things. I eliminated all 21 things and several problems have cleared up. Mint is not that hard to avoid. So for now I will avoid it.

Not that I know of. Being diabetic, I don't usually eat a lot of candy. Chocolate bothers my GERD and Junior Mints contain egg which I am severely intolerant to. Andes contain dairy and I am intolerant to that as well. I didn't know that mint was a problem for me. I just learned of it on my last testing. Mint was not something I really consumed much...

I know to avoid anytihng that says it has mint in it. I have to check labels now for lip and tooth products and I realize that a lot of tooth things do contain mint even though it is not listed. But what about other things that are in the mint family that are not actually mint? Like oregano and chia seeds? I don't think these things are causing a probem...

My daughter and I have modified our diets yet again after getting our recent intolerence tests back. In my daughter's case she can actually have some things that she couldn't have before. She is intolerant to more nuts now and also coconut. But overall she can now eat a fairly normal diet. She can even order in a restaurant with no problems! We are...

ARCHIVED Anyone Been To Five Graces Restaurant?
Juliebove replied to cyberprof's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Hmmm... I went to the website and it doesn't look very allergy friendly to me! There are eggs in several dishes. Lots of dairy and nuts and seafood! They even use Earth Balance which has flax in it. My daughter can't have flax. I don't really see too many items on that menu we could eat except for the pasta and only with some stuff left off. -
ARCHIVED Problems Maintaining A gluten-free Diet With A Busy Schedule
Juliebove replied to Rhabdoviridae's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I made it through high school and college (I dropped out) eating lots of trail mix that I made up myself. Assorted nuts and seeds, maybe some coconut, dried fruit and if I was in the mood for it, chocolate or carob chips. You could also put in some kind of small candy bits for the junk food factor. If you have a bag of that stuff in your purse, there is... -
