    Here's another option. There is a Restaurant in Nelson where we can go and get gluten free Chinese food and gluten free, deep fried fish and chips. They hired a Celiac cook who set up the kitchen so that we can eat there very safely.     Better dip that toilet paper in chocolate, or a good wine first. They sure do make you want to wring their necks or something. They have no idea how it affects their customers, and they don't seem to care either.

    Thanks for the information on General Mills Rusla! What is with these companies that can't make a statement and stick to it. You would think we were asking them about rocket science or something. Either their stuff is clear of gluten or not. Considering the amount of people diagnosed every day now, they would get tired of us calling them and smarten...

    Have you been having problems with the paper products before this discussion came up? If not, perhaps there isn't enough corn in there to bother you, or you likely aren't ingesting any. I'm not sure where you would find corn free, if this is indeed a problem for you.

    It is funny ... we never had a snow day here either. However I have lived on the North Coast ... Just south of Alaska ... and on the coast that slushy mess is slipperyer ... hmmmmm, is that a word?

    Ahhhhhhhh now I know what you mean. It is connected with GERD, but the acid effects the essophogus (sp) and that is what is going into spasm. Sometimes you can't even breath! Not nice. Im being treated with Periet and Domperidone. (also know as Motility). The Domperidone needs to be taken about 1/2 hour before eating three times a day. the Periet is taken...

    Perhaps instead of thinking of what you can't have, think about what you can have. There are many chocolate bars that are gluten free, even potato chips like Lays Staxx, or Hardbite that are gluten free. Lots of ice creams, and of course good meals that just need gluten free spices and sauces. In chocolate you need to look for Malt flavouring or of course...

    I remember both CeliacMe and CeliacChap. Both were people to avoid at the time. I do hope they have improved their personalities with the diet. They are probably nice people without a chip on their shoulders and without all the anger about getting this disease.

    I remember when we were bugging Scott to start a chat/gab thread for us It didn't take us long to get one really, Scott is so good about stuff. We've certainly had some fun with it.

    Actually, I've had trouble with Planters nuts before, but I just lately found out what it was. I walked into the living room where the nuts were, and caught my hubby dipping into the nuts, he had just finished eating a sandwich! That's why I've had trouble with the nuts Needless to say, he won't be dipping into my nuts without washing his hands next time...

    Actually, I think you best check on those paper towels, I don't think they would contain flour anymore than the toilet paper. It's possible that there is a tiny amount in the glue that they use to make the cardboard roll the paper towels are on, but it's not likely to have flour in the towels themselves.
