  1. Holy maple syrup batman! Def gonna wing it.
  2. The original 'alfredo' was just buttered noodles with parm or other hard cheese. Try boiling the noodles in way less water, and don't drain them, like hamburger helper, and once they're done add butter and cheese. Very creamy. I do that with hot dogs and broccoli and cheddar for lazy mac n cheese, if you do butter then parm it will be much closer to 'alfredo...
  3. I make alfredo with milk, butter, cream cheese, and parmesan. And seasonings of course. What's your recipe?
  4. I think I'm gonna beat you guys to the cream maple syrup squash. I have a buttercup squash, butternut, and acorn here. I'm gonna cook it all up, smash it all together, and do the cream and maple syrup thing. I think squashes are best when you mix at least three together. Can include sweet potato and turnip too. So I just looked up a recipe for that...

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! you dirty girl you... Mr Happy, you probably just have dry skin. Maybe your system is using up all your fluids to heal, who knows. Try to eat more salt, drink more water, and try Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream. Only thing that didn't hurt my skin when it was cracking and bleeding from working a housekeeping job.
  6. Last time I got glutened I picked up some digestive enzymes, detox tea, and some activated charcoal. All that seemed to work really well to reduce symptoms, I'll be picking up some nettle tea anyway, but that's a good thing to know! I wonder if there were nettles in that detox tea, I had only looked at the dandelion....
  7. I'm left brain 12 right brain 7. Me n Pattee match! That's kinda funny....
  8. Well, yeah, my Mom's only issue was weight gain. We're 95% sure I got Celiac from my daddy, she's been virtually gluten free for a long time because of living with me and then my grandmother in FL, but shows no reactions when she does eat it, and has none of the symptoms. So her weight loss wasn't also all wrapped up in healing her system, it was just a metabolism...
  9. My favorite brand of cooking utensil is Oxo brand, you can find them in stores and online at the evil website. I have enjoyed the use of every single thing I ever bought from them. Very good stuff.
  10. Browned onions, ground beef, quinoa, broccoli, all in one pan- pan fry in that order, adding water with the quinoa.
  11. Or appliances.....

    Yay!!!!
  13. I used Neutrogena Norwegian formula, the smell-free one, I discovered it years ago when I was working a housekeeping job and my hands were crackin & bleedin! The Norwegian Formula hand cream doesn't hurt when you put it on no matter how messed up your skin is, every other lotion I tried when my hands were that bad hurt like a mother. Now, I've gotten...
  14. I would just be happy that you still WANT to kiss each other all the time!
  15. Can't outrun the collar!
  16. It does suck. Fairs are hard for me too, all the smells and BOY did I love me some fried dough. A lot of people can at least get the fries from a fry booth at a fair, but they're always fried in peanut oil so I can't even have those. I've tried to train myself to remember that when I get home I'm gonna feel a WHOLE lot better than all those people! And that...
  17. If it helps at all, I am the least OCD person I know, except for two things- gluten and driving. I have Celiac and was once in a very bad accident, so those two things make sense. I treat my kitchen like it's full of gluten, even though no gluten ever comes in it. I figure, I've got the process down pat, it doesn't take me any longer to cook or eat something...
  18. You've got a point! Next time I will make sure to try harder.... I just really didn't want a hangover today....
  19. Sandra, I think the point that everyone is trying to make here, but has not been clearly stated for you yet, is this. If gluten makes you feel sick, you stop eating it, and you feel better, then there is nothing else wrong with you. As far as I know, and I'm pretty sure everyone else on the board will agree with me, although correct me if I'm wrong guys...
  20. Thanks, K. In that case, I was referring to the New Wave Enviro 10-stage countertop water filter. I LURVE that thing! You can get it in a store, my local health food store has it, but you'll get it a lot cheaper on The Website That Shall Not Be Named.
  21. I been drinkin!!1 Caan't think of any funny stories with chickens though....
  22. So I just thought of a funny-cute story I haven't shared. My parents were on nursery duty one day for church, and only one little 3 year old boy was in there, Gabe. So my dad picks him up and takes him over to the window where he heard a helicopter, shows it to Gabe, and asks him, "Where do you think the helicopter is going, Gabe?" (Keep in mind this little...
  23. You know, before they get dipped they don't really have that much sugar. Instead of dipping in sugar, imagine a warm honey butter cinnamon nutmeg sauce (maybe with cream? hmm...) poured over them as a side to an omelet and homefries on a holiday morning! Maybe after baking I would cut them in half and pan fry them in butter and THEN put the sauce on them...
  24. I have a stainless steel colander of the same description, and if it somehow got glutened I would consider it possible to save. The mesh kind, no, but the big smooth holes are pretty easy to get into. I think you're good. Of course my neurotic self would wash it like eight thousand times.... But we all know Bunnie's a nutball....
  25. AVR, I can recommend a very good countertop water filter that will cost you less than $150 on the 'website that shall not be named' and will give you much better water than anything you can get bottled. The replacement filters are less than $100, and they last for a year with regular household use, including cooking. I have a new house with whole-house water...
