  1. I was tested IgA +2 from negitive and IgG, at the very top of negitive. I was just going though the similar thing... see my post "Just a little bit Celiac?". That may help, it helped me quite a bit.
  2. I love this thing I used to make with Chicken, Feta, and spinich. I took a flour tortilla, but obviously you would have to use corn, grilled chicken strips, fresh spinisch and crumbled feta cheese. I added a little oil and vinegar feta dressing i made and drizze it over it. I roll it up and mmmm.... of course, that is assuming your mom is ok with...
  3. most of the time with scanners, you need to install the software first, then hook up the scanner. I'm not sure if that would be the same with that. I know HP is usally really good with step by step instructions!
  4. I cannot tolerate MSG at all. I had beef jerky one day... it was pretty much beef and msg and spices.... i was sick for 2 days. It is a reaction completely seperate from gluten though. I pretty much agree that MSG is bad for everyone, and so is Artfical Sweeteners. I only physically react to MSG and Splenda, but I avoid them all out of worry for my health...
  5. Hi guys! I'm interested in trying this, but the stress in my life right now, the newness of gluten-free and other possible food problems... I'm forseing problems. I am going to try to read here for a little while and get your motivation start fresh on July 9th (after holidays and far enough out to eat all the bad stuff out of the house). My history... I...
  6. Hey Amanda there is one in York! Little D, i'd think if your in texas you would have lots of BBQ and pulled pork places all around. I've never been to texas, but I hear they have the best BBQ around.
  7. Ohh.. Storms. I love storms! Tonight I'm going to Fiesta Mexicano over your neck of the woods... I will see how gluten free they are! Oh and I have an interview in Hershey on Friday, it's a publishing group.
  8. kbtoyssni gave you alot of great information! I love HP printers, if it's for home you probally only need an ink jet unless you make lots of printouts. Laser are more buiness level, most homes can use ink jet fine. I reccomend the HP's because when you change the ink cartidge, you get a new print head. I have found with other companies that don't replace...
  9. I was once refered to as the "Toot Fairy".... if looks could kil.... I'd be in deep trouble.
  10. I love smokey bones, haven't eaten scince going gluten-free, though my fave parts of the meal was the Cornbread appitizer and texas toast! Not gonna be ordering that now. However, I like their pulled pork! Will Check it out next time.
  11. Just a FYI, Smokey Bones in Dickson City Closed. There is one in Wilkes-barre still.
  12. I'm still down here, my mom told me there is nothing I can do if I were to come home. He is in CMC still, they keeping him until they know for sure what It was and if it was some new meds they but him on that caused it. I was home on monday when he couldn't find his car in the parking lot at work so i had to pick him up. I will probally be coming home again...
  13. I am just asking for positive vibes and energy for my father, he was slightly out of it this Sunday, Monday things got worse, he fell, so my mom took him to the ER, they say it was probably minor stokes. He isn't completely aware of what is going on, but they ran lots of tests. They are keeping him in the hospital, but i'm worried about him. Yesterday he...
  14. I'm with you Amanda, hot and humid outside in Pa, but frozen solid inside. I have a co-worker who runs around all day and when he comes back to the office cranks up the AC! I don't usally notice how cold I am until I think about it. I was disapointed in the weather, espically at my parents house for the weekend. It's cold up there!
  15. Thanks for finding out about the comforting cream cleanser! I have it, but been afraid to use it. Waiting on Clinuque for a few things!
  16. I have had some suspect thyroid issues. My mom is hypothyroid. So I got tested when I was tired all the time. My thyroid was low, but not abnormally. I was put on some synthroid, it didn't do much she didn't feel confedient to put me on any other drugs. I do feel my thyroid is something I need to work on, I'm very overweight... and I have a VERY hard time...
  17. I actually have a post it note on my insurance card that I'm gluten intolerant. There has been some discussion about medical alert braclets. It was mentioned that they don't need to know about it ASAP when treating you in ER but once admitted they need to know. Even if they do gluten you in the ER, I don't know if it would really kill you. I figure after...
  18. I figured that I had a proper Dx, with the blood test, but here I find I only got half of them, and I've been gluten-free for 3 monthes... I don't think I would go back on gluten for a challenge unless somehow I had no other responsibilties like work or anything and I could spend time in the bathroom all day. I am also terrified of the idea of seeing a GI...
  19. I have been known to be impatient...! I know I am a long way from healed, especially as i have thought back to my probable trigger - 10 years ago. It is completely unrealistic to expect to reverse 10 years in 3 months... but I still lack energy and have lots of GI problems still that I can't nail down to what did it. I am starting to cement that me...
  20. Mononucleosis in 1997, my junior year of high school. Ten years later, I figured it out on my own and demanded to be tested by my GP. It was positive (turns out she only did half the panel), so Here I am 3 months gluten free and only seeing minor improvement. My next step is to see a Homeopathic Doctor to see if I have leaky gut or candidia. After Mono...
  21. I think Paris went in there emaciated! My boyfriend's uncle works at the local jail as a psych nurse and has to help give diabetics and other ill people their drugs. I'll ask him next time if he has any idea about gluten free meals. He and his wife and his sister-in-law (my boyfriend's mother) all are nurses.
  22. That was my only diagnosis testing. Was eating gluten scince birth before them. Only avoiding pasta and stuff occasionally. i'm kinda bummed now that I didn't get the full panel, but i'm not going to go back on gluten. i can't say i have gotten a huge improvment either. I still have to work on finding what ever foods are making me sick.... gluten isnt...
  23. I know a woman who went to them a few times when first diagnosed. She says they have a good "just diagnosed" workshop or something. I saw it listed, but I had just missed it. I have gone to a gluten free "class" at the camp hill Giant. It was before I was gluten-free, but I was sure that I had celiac (in my gut...not by docs). I liked seeing the products...
  24. So I was so excited 3 monthes ago when I was daignosed with Celiac that I didnt' get the actual test results. My doc told me I had a positive celaic test and I should go gluten free. So today i go back for my follow up, and I ask for my results so I can compare... and I am disapointed in myself for having such low levels. My IgA was 6 (negitive 0-4)...
