  1. I think Pacific brand makes a rice milk and if you have a Wegmans near you their store brand rice milk is also.
  2. One thing that may help is making sure you are getting some protein when you eat a carb or a sugary food. A nut butter, cheese if you tolerate it, nuts or meat of some kind. The carbs will raise your blood sugar fairly quickly but without a protein it will also crash it back down pretty quick.
  3. Have you checked out any of the Gluten Free Pantry mixes? Udi's ready made is free of all that you name if you want a ready made bread. Pamela's Baking mix is also a possiblity at least for biscuits and such. I also like Tom Sawyer flour mix but you would add your own rising agent.
  4. Yea you should be able to find them in any place that has a good selection of vitamins.
  5. Glad your going to get your tests over with fairly soon. Hopefully once those are done and you can get on the diet strictly the GI and skin issues will resolve.
  6. Sublingual B12 bypasses the damaged gut and goes right into your bloodstream through the mucous membranes in your mouth. B12 in a swallowed vitamin will just pass through you unabsorbed. If you want to go with white rice rather than brown that should be fine and you could give wild rice a try. I like a mix of both white and wild that I cook in my rice cooker...
  7. If you can stick with the diet strictly without the endo then skip the endo. Some doctors are finally giving folks a diagnosis with strong positive tests since the endo has a risk of false negatives anyway. The choice is yours to make.
  8. Instead of a just a salad what the men in my family do is simply ask for a steak cooked in a clean pan and a baked potato. They tell the waitress they have a food allergy and will season it themselves at the table. Nothing wimpy about a steak.
  9. In addition if you are celiac you may not be absorbing your meds as well as you would otherwise so you would need a higher dose for the same effect.
  10. Celiac is an autoimmune disease. When you eat gluten that causes the antibodies that you were positive for in the first test. Celiac usually has a trigger which for women is often childbirth so it makes sense that you noticed the symptoms after you child was born. The autoimmune activity can attack any organ in the body including the brain in addition to...
  11. If you are making antibodies to gluten you are celiac or 'gluten intolerant'. Either way the person should avoid gluten strictly.
  12. Hey raven, could you tell me, do you know why eggs might be an issue, It doesn't seem to hit me as obviously as soy or milk, but the next day I feel weird =/ what's your experience with eggs lol

  13. If you are trying to avoid gluten in your diet that will skew the test results although false negatives are not uncommon even on a full gluten diet. If you have been gluten light then go back to eating it until your biopsy is done. Once the biopsy is done then you need to try the diet strictly and see if it helps. The bad news is that if you are celiac...
  14. Have a wonderful birthday!! I hope the sun is shining and the hugs are many.
  15. Happy Anniversary!!!! Glad your feeling better.
  16. If your son has already been diagnosed celiac then IMHO there wouldn't be any reason to have the DH confirmed. The only thing you would do for DH other than the diet would be avoid iodine until the rash is well healed. Some doctors will prescribe dapsone but I don't know that they would give that to a young child as it can be a pretty toxic med.
  17. I don't know anything about the Threelac but if for some reason you have concerns about it if it is unopened you could take it back to the store and ask for a refund or to exchange it for other probiotics and other products. Most will be happy to do so.
  18. Well if you had positive blood work you need to be gluten free no matter what the endo results. For the best chance of not getting a false negative you should be consuming at least 4 - 6 slices of bread a day.
  19. It can be really frustrating. The good thing is that he has seen the improvement on the diet and he has felt awful when he ate gluten after being on it. Hopefully he will stick with the diet and his reactions will be enough to keep him compliant.
  20. Just my opinion but the more basic unprocessed diet would be my first step.
  21. More important than the numbers is how did you feel gluten free and how did your body respond to the challenge. Did the diet help issues you were having and did those issues return when you added back gluten?
  22. If you had positive blood tests and biopsy you are in the right place. It can seem daunting at first but you found a great site for information and support. Ask any questions you need to, be strict with the diet and try to go with whole unprocessed foods at first. I hope you are feeling better soon but do be aware it can take a bit of time to heal. It is...
  23. Have you recently tried to stop taking this med cold turkey? If you were taking it for 6 months straight you would need to taper off of it as it is addictive. Has your doctor had you taper the dose?
  24. Your appointment is still a month away and you had firmly positive blood tests. By that time you will have been gluten free for a couple of months. If they decide to endo without you going back on gluten for a couple more months then be prepared for a false negative. Even with going back on gluten you could have a false negative. Since false positives on...
