ARCHIVED Products Question
modiddly16 replied to modiddly16's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I haven't tried the chocolate chex yet! Bearkat used to make this mexican rice bowl that I had for lunch like everyday. I don't think they make it anymore but I loved it! -
ARCHIVED Products Question
modiddly16 replied to modiddly16's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
No rules! I'm just so bored with my daily food routines, I figure if there are any new products out there or ideas that I'm not aware of, here would be the place to find it! I love gluten-free Bisquick too!! I can't eat Udi's, it makes me sick oddly enough, no other gluten-free product does that. -

ARCHIVED gluten-free Honeymoon Suggestions?
modiddly16 replied to alissar's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
We're going to a Sandals resort in Jamacia. I've called and talked to them and they said they are familiar with celiac disease and get gluten free requests all the time! Some of the all inclusive resorts might be worth calling and checking out if that's what you want to do! -
ARCHIVED Wheat Bran?
modiddly16 replied to DanieGurl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm with them.....wheat bran is gluten, whether its high content or not, you had a rash! Why on earth would you test that out on yourself again? -
ARCHIVED Please Share Your Bisquick Recipes
modiddly16 replied to gflooser's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Does anyone have a recipe that isn't listed on their regular sites online or on the box? It frustrates me to no end that we can't figure out how to substitute the gluten free bisquick in for regular bisquick recipies! If someone could figure that out, it would open our world to huge delicious possibilities -
ARCHIVED B12 Deficiency In Untreated Celiac?
modiddly16 replied to 9na's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don' think that b12 deficiancy's really depend on whether you're eating gluten or not. I've been a celiac for 7 years and am very strict about my diet and I was just diagnosed with a b12 deficiancy a few months ago. "Normal" range is 200-900 and I was under 150, which the doctor called freakishly low...however, I was given no explaination as to why I was... -
ARCHIVED Diarrhea After Endoscopy
modiddly16 replied to bergyali's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had some Diarrhea for a few days after but I also had a colonoscopy, so that was kinda the point I definitely second the probiotic suggestion! Also, maybe steer clear of some veggies, some of them are none to make you a bit more regular..not that any of us ever have problems with that! I hope you feel better soon! -
ARCHIVED Nature Valley
modiddly16 replied to bridgetm's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They are good but they're so hard they hurt my teeth! But, beggers can't be choosers right? -
ARCHIVED Severe Travel Anxiety!
modiddly16 replied to lynnelise's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree. I think you're a great friend and I also think you'll be fine. Pack some snacks! Stop at the grocery store. You can avoid gluten on trips very easily if you eat your own food..I understand you might feel like you are intruding but I bet once you get there, you won't give that a second thought! -
ARCHIVED How Do You Ensure No Cross Contamination At Restaurants?
modiddly16 replied to danzn16's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
You really can't ensure it...you just have to go where you trust, talk to managers, chefs, wait staff and hope that they take it seriously! -
ARCHIVED Need Goldfish Alternative
modiddly16 replied to maximoo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Questions About Peanut Butter And Olives
modiddly16 replied to UpbeatPete's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I like Jif crunchy! -
I don't know that I'd ever trust a KFC or a Taco Bell...KFC for obvious reasons, I'm not sure I've ever heard them having any gluten free items..even their grilled chicken breast is covered in flour and Taco Bell for non-gluten stomach related issues

ARCHIVED Celiac Vaccine Anyone?
modiddly16 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'd get the vaccine but only to help with getting sick when I was cross contaminated or accidentally glutened. I definitely wouldn't go back to eating gluten at this point in my life, I think my body would probably just reject it anyway BUT if getting the vaccine helped me feel better on those off days.....I'd be open to it! -
ARCHIVED Meijer Brand Ricotta Cheese
modiddly16 replied to Coolclimates's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I second that. I've never seen Ricotta with gluten in it! -
If your Chipotles won't do that for you then you need to contact that manager as well as corporate, because they claim to be allergy friendly (to a degree obviously) and advertise that they will accomodate on request. I've never had an issue with several Chipotles (across several states) so I'd definitely look into that! You shouldn't have to miss out on...

ARCHIVED Yogurt And Peanut Butter
modiddly16 replied to divamomma's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've never heard of anyone being glutened by yogourt, Dannon or otherwise, unless it was ones that have obvious gluten items it in (oats, cookie topings). However, most folks stick with Yoplait because they confirm the gluten free status! As for milk and peanut butter, I've never heard any issues with gluten in these prodcuts either! I prefer JIF crunchy -
ARCHIVED Against The Grain Pizza Crust
modiddly16 replied to MyMississippi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I love Against the Grain but have yet to master the pizza crust. I suggest cooking it a bit longer than recommended to get additional crunch. I typically put the plain crust in with some olive oil on top for about 8 minutes then put my toppings on and keep it in for 12 and then judge it from there! -
Most Food Lions in that area have a smaller scale gluten free section. It's near the wine. I'd highly recommend driving into the city though if you're not incredibly far out...the options there are awesome.

ARCHIVED Is Ocella Birth Control Gluten-Free?
modiddly16 replied to caberma's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I take Yasmin because they've confirmed that it is gluten free, I won't change to the generic because they won't confirm it, however, in all likelihood, it probably is.
