  1. I eat Ore Ida products regularly and haven't had any issues either, I'm wondering if it is a nightshade thing! I hope you figure it out soon!
  2. I use El Paso Mild and Ortega, the ingrediants do not have any gluten ingrediants and I've never had a problem with them. There are some, however, that have wheat in there...I think ChiChi's is one...you just need to read and be very careful!
  3. Frustrating. If it's such a small amount of malt flavoring, then why is it necessary to include at all!!
  4. It might also be worth getting your B12 levels checked. I just had to start getting shots because mine were way low and I was always a bit "off" so to speak with my memory. Celiacs are like 20% more likely to have a B12 deficiancy because of our difficulty to absorb things...I wish I would've known that 6 years ago Honestly, I feel ridiculously better...
  5. Thanks!!! I am just a bit leery about all of the Sandals "all inclusive" packages... Hawaii is looking mighty appealing
  6. I know that this subject has been brought up before but I haven't seen any new info on it lately. We're planning a fall honeymoon (November) and I'd love to know your experiences with traveling and being gluten free. We're looking at more beachy places like Hawaii, St. Lucia, those types...but I know absolutely nothing about how I'll manage on my diet....
  7. I've never heard of anyone having problems with bottled water!
  8. So the Dole Apple and cream fruit parfaits look gluten free but I can't seem to find any information on it...has anyone had experience with these ?
  9. I didn't have an endo and just relied on the blood test results for my diagnosis. I can't speak to your other questions though. I do know that once I started the gluten-free diet my life was much more pleasant
  10. I haven't read through all of the responses to your initial post but I have a few things for you to think about... Do you feel crappy? Are you tired of feeling that way?? If so, how would a gluten free diet hurt? If anything, it could rule out a possible diagnosis or even *GasP* make you feel better!!!!! I remember when I was going through the process...
  11. I'm not sure where you've gotten your information because I've definitely never heard or experienced that Chicory Root is not gluten free. It's a natural herb. So when you say "we definitely all know that Chicory Root is NOT gluten free", please provide us with some documentation of such so we can do our best not to spread false information. Being gluten...
  12. I'm with LM on this one. I have family members who work for Hershey Co. and have been told directly that they won't claim gluten free but their products don't contain gluten ingrediants. If they changed their formula to something that did contain those ingrediants, they'd be obligated by the FDA to put that on the label. I eat these and many of their other...
  13. Carmel color in the U.S. is fine for celiacs. I've eaten Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles for a LONG time and never had any issues. Sorry you got sick!
  14. I've had a smoothie there with no issues.
  15. I eat them in all flavors and haven't gotten sick from it and as I get older, I'm seemingly more sensitive!
  16. hahah I mean, seriously...what doesn't give us diarreha
  17. If anyone is shocked by the lack of real beef in their meat, they should probably get out more!!
  18. I eat them with no issues. I've also been in the factory numerous times and can attest that they really do a good job on some lines with avoiding cross contamination.
  19. I thought that Hornsby's was the not safe brand as well. I'll second the recommendation for JK Scrumpy's, that stuff is amazing.
  20. I do love Bob Hope...maybe we should try him
  21. I love Against the Grain bread. Its my favorite but I always toast it up a bit first!
  22. I've gotten them at Weis Markets but sadly have realized that I can't have Teff....too much fiber for me!
  23. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to try other meats, but I don't have an issue with chicken or turkey. Surprisingly, some lamb isn't that expensive...if you can find it.It's definitely worth a shot! The only other question I can really answer is that rice typically is good for you and tolerated by many celiacs. I've never needed to do an elimination...
  24. Using the term "wet hen party" just made me laugh.
  25. I've never heard of such a thing, interesting! I react strongly to Udi's, as did my non-celiac gluten devouring finacee (which was weird) however, I've never had an issue with cheese. I just think it might be a tad too much xanathan gum for my system!
