  1. Even if you don't have Celiac Disease you could have some food intolerances.
  2. Are you really under-weight? It varies from person to person on how you gain weight back. Just talk to your doctor about it if you are concerened about your weight.
  3. Some people, including myself, start to develop allergic reactions to gluten. I don't know why but I figure it's because my body isn't used to having it at all. I get rashes on my scalp from shampoo with wheat in it. My hair isn't very long yet I still stomes get it in my mouth and can taste the shampoo when I do. I will get itchy red spots if I don't...
  4. You are right and there are very wrong. That kind of stuff is annoying!
  5. I did not like the pizza flavoured ones.
  6. I think he was just dealing with her in a civil way and grading what he could eat. How mean of her, though.
  7. I was diagnosed with Celiacs right before I graduated High School. I haven't really had any trouble in college (knock on wood). I used to tell my professors about my Celiacs and that sometimes I may have to leave early from a class if I get sick and such. They usually said we'd deal with it if any problems came up. Now, I just don't tell my professors...
  8. This message board will help you out a lot, Aurora. You'll need to keep on the diet the same as if you had Celiacs. All that's different is the reaction. Maybe you should get a better more helpful doctor, too.
  9. I found some vegan and gluten-free burgers. I didn't like them but I didn't eat much of vegetarian burgers before being gluten-free. I am sure lots of people would like them. They aren't awful but rather not my taste. Open Original Shared Link Not to sound mean but one can't be a vegetarian and eat animals. If either of you know anymore good tips...
  10. Some people don't write Gods name out fully because it is too special. They simply took out the "o." I am glad you found help, tiredofdoctors!!!
  11. I do remember people, or one person, posting here after doing the test for the genes and saying since they did not have the gene they did not have Celiacs so they are just gluten intolerant.
  12. While it makes a little sense but not really, I am more on the line that without the gene it cannot turn into Celiacs. People who don't have the gene can't be considered having this disease. I do think it is very unhealthy to consume gluten if it does damage to you, Celiac or not, and would further harm your body but as of the research yet I don't think...
  13. Where did you learn that, Kaiti? It doesn't make sense. The only way to stop problems caused by gluten is to be 100% gluten-free.
  14. No, 80% gluten-free would not be helpful to someone with Celiac Disease.
  15. It is probably just the move and change that has made you sick. You aren't actually in the bread factory inhaling flour so it should be okay.
  16. Atlantis Natural Foods is too far from me and I only go if I have to. Life Grocery and Harrys Farmers market are good, to..
  17. Maybe she can just prepare naturally glutenfree things. Like meat, fruits, and veggies. Since she wants to cook maybe you could give her some sauces that are gluten-free that require cooking.
  18. I like the sugar ones heated up!
  19. You seem to be dealing well with her food but running into bad people. Just don't let them stop you and this will show her hwo to deal with things when she is older.
  20. Is it from sitting on the toilet too long?
  21. I seem to be bitten more so or just as much as before!
  22. I knew more things made me sicker than ever before and I just figured that everyone had the same problems I did and just thought that was life. After starting the diet I was shocked at how "normal" people weren't sick everyday.
  23. That is a very nice thing to have in school!
  24. Sometimes there isn't time to go into details so I say "Yes, it is sort of like an allergy but it is much worse!" If there is more time and people want to know more I talk about it being genetic, an auto-immune disorder, and the villi in my intestines gets detroyed. As long as they understand it's serious then that's good.
