  1. I don't think there is a normal reaction that applies to everyone. My period became clockwork at 28 days the first month, but I got yucky cramps, which I almost never got before. The cramps subsided. I also have had almost no emotional pms. Your body is still rebalancing it seems. Hope it steadies out for you soon.
  2. gelatin is gross. I don't eat it and haven't for years. Not because I am intolerant.
  3. I ate spelt for years instead of wheat. At first I got better, but then I got worse. This winter I cheated with lots more wheat. I went gluten free in january and haven't looked back. No cheating ever again. I a feel so much better. Spelt has gluten but less than wheat. Since they don't sell spelt at restuarants, I didn't eat gluten out hardly. I...
  4. My kids aren't teenagers yet. but my 7 yr old dd can be just awful. I had terrible issues as a young teenager and older teenager. I hope things work out for her. If I had been properly diagnosed earlier I would have gone through so much less pain and suffering mentally as a teenager(and other times too). My mental symptoms were some of the worst to...
  5. hi, before I gave up gluten this winter I was horribly depressed. I was about to go get drugs(I NEVER take drugs because I am so paranoid). I was thinking I did not want to live like that anymore. Went gluten free and I don't think like that at all. I have those horrible crying depressed spells that I know will pass. Thankfully they are very very...
  6. I just got diagnosed with facet joint syndrome. It is where the facet joints on the sides of the spine get sticky, inflamed, and irritated. They stick causing my spine to curve, muscles to pull, muscle spasms, pulls on hamsting, shoulder out of place, shoulder pain and tmj. It sucks. I am off gluten and dairy. One website recommended no dairy and...
  7. first went wheat free for months in 1995 Then went wheat free again in 2003, but cheated on and off for years, this winter cheated a lot and got worse in every area of life. Gluten free no cheating at all!!!since mid january, so 4 1/2 months I noticed improvements right away
  8. I did not have a biopsy or blood test Gluten wrangler on here is double DQ5 AND has biopsy proven refractory sprue..... Hope you heal soon
  9. not me,I run cold, but my hubby gets night sweats from dairy. He eats lots of gluten. so not just gluten as a culprit
  10. HLA-DQB1 - Allele 1 - 0301 HLA-DQB1 - Allele 2 - 0602 Your genes are DQ1, subtype 6 also known as DQ6 DQ3 subtype 1 also known as DQ7. DQ7 is half of the celiac gene.
  11. I just put on the other topic Rachel posted about my symptoms. I am DQ1,5 and DQ2,2(the non celiac DQ2 gene). My speech and vision symptoms started about 17 years into it. I had other symptoms that are neurological though for the whole time: nightmares, anxiety, depression, spacing out. I have seen a huge improvement, though am still dealing with depression...
  12. hi, I am DQ1,5(DQ5) and DQ 2,2(DQ2.2). I did not have blood tests or biopsies. Tested positive for gluten intolerance and tTg antibodies through enterolabI have been sick to some degree forever. Gluten symptoms: I had chronic constipation and "attacks" of pooping(hard bulky) a ton and feeling sick. These attacks made me feel sick, weak, naseous...
  13. Me too. When I was terribly sick from 10 to 13 I had horrible nightmares. I got afraid to sleep at one point, BUT that was not all. I would Leave my body while awake if I was terribly upset and float through black space. I also thought the world was going to end. I was convinced that doom was coming. I dreamed that armagedeon was coming. This past...
  14. hi, Please give it some time. I didn't have loud belly gurgling till after I went off gluten. It was loud too and often. But now it has stopped. It takes some time for your belly to readjust and heal. It takes time to weed out all gluten sometimes. I found barley in the craziest of places-pickled ginger, flavored vinegar. I thought I was 100% but got...
  15. it has only been a week and a half. It has not been long enough to be retesting with both. My suggestion is no gluten or dairy. Then after a couple of weeks try one at a time. You need several days between each to know for sure. My first week off gluten was weird. I can't have casein, but it did not become obvious till after I went off gluten...
  16. my sister wanted me on a antidepressant-"just the lowest dose possible, that's what I'm on" My husband has just ignored it all as much as possible. He has been unsupportive while I was sick at times, but never disbelieving. He is 100% supportive of the gluten free diet though(he's been a vegetarian his entire life so he knows about difficult diets)....
  17. I understand your dilemma. I just saw my doctor and he accepted my self diagnosis!!!! But since I have no on record testing the insurance company can't use that against me. Anyone can not eat gluten. It was already on my records that I had eczama that was cured by not eating wheat. As far as your daughter, If you request a test and will not take no...
  18. Hi, I went to see my dr. Now I am wondering why I waited so long. He told me I have sticky joints that get stuck. I google this and found Facet joint syndrome. He said it is very common and genetic. I have been unable to find any info on line about it being genetic. My dr. says that having sticky joints is passed down. I do see it in my family,...
  19. Being dizzy wasn't a main symptom from being gluttened for me although at times I got lightheaded and weak. Being dizzy is a main symptom from years of being poisoned though. I have had anemia on and off for years. Also I had low blood pressure. After a few months of being off gluten my blood pressure went up to a more normal level. It went down the...
  20. oops. once again
  21. It told me it didn't post, so I reposted. oh well
  22. I saw my doctor today. I only have a few blisters now. I said I use to have tons that ate up half my hand. I said they were almost all gone from no wheat. He said these were classic allergy rashes.
  23. hey. I also have this, dishydrotic dermatitis. It was worst at my sickest and most stressed. I had it on my feet at 12. Then it came back at 25 on my hands. I feel it is related to stress, wheat(in my case), other food intolerances(one lady said she gets them from anything she is intolerant to), detergents(this is real bad for it), and nickel. Wikipedia...
  24. I am having left low back pain now. I have not been glutened and this was never a symptom for me. I am wondering if it is my kidney or just a muscle ache. Any ideas on how to tell the difference?
  25. I live in a rural neighborhood where everyone lives on at least 15 acres. My closest neighbor,me, possibly my daughter and son, my other neighbor and possibly her son are all gluten intolerant. There are 12 of us in my area. So out of 12, 3 definately are gluten intolerant, and possibly 3 more. So if those 3 are then that is 6. Six out of `12. That...
