In general if you see "gluten-free" on a label in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc., it does mean that the food is safe for those with celiac disease, and it does NOT mean that there is 19ppm gluten in it, as some people might lead you to believe. Whenever a company detects gluten in the 5-19ppm (most tests can't accurately go below this level...

Brands of Gluten-Free Parmesan Cheese
Scott Adams commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Gluten-Free Foods & Beverages
1) You would need to ask them where their cultured come from, but their ingredients look naturally gluten-free: https://www.organicvalley.coop/products/cottage-cheese/cottage-cheese-16-oz/ 2) This is not correct, most are gluten-free and if wheat is used it must be disclosed on the label as an allergen:- 9 comments

Gluten Free and Rice Free Recipes
Scott Adams replied to Brooklyn Lyn's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I think you need to find a good gluten-free all purpose baking flour, and we have some older recipes here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-recipes/gluten-free-flour-mixes/ including this one: -
I also want to add that one day gluten-free, even if you had celiac disease, would not likely be enough time for you to tell whether or not gluten is the cause of your symptoms. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat...

@nico86, I also suspect that you could be reacting to another ingredient, as Barilla pastas are certified gluten-free and made on a dedicated gluten-free line. Here are the ingredients for their penne, which I just had yesterday and have eaten for years without issues. Is it possible you have issues with corn or rice? https://www.barilla.com/en-us/products...

Can you eat potatoes, corn and beans? These will provide you with more calories and nutrition. -
Just to clarify, this article does not mention any brands, it is new research that is being done and the bread is not currently commercially available.

Desperate for an answer
Scott Adams replied to Courtneylb's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The prevalence of MTHFR gene mutations varies by population. The two most studied variants are C677T and A1298C. C677T Variant: Homozygous (two copies of the mutation)**: About 10-15% of the general population. Heterozygous (one copy of the mutation)**: About 30-40% of the general population. A1298C Variant: Homozygous... -
Confused about results...
Scott Adams replied to alicepalace's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree with @trents and a full celiac disease blood panel would be a good idea given your symptoms. I would also like to know more about the test you ordered for gluten intolerance. -
Awaiting biopsy
Scott Adams replied to Abbie11's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Your symptoms certainly sounds like celiac disease, and I would request a celiac disease blood panel as well because not everyone performs or interprets the endoscopy/biopsies correctly. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease... -
Can you share with us what product you mean? Rigorous cleaning processes between product runs, and throwing away some of the first gluten-free product run through the equipment, can mean that the products are indeed gluten-free.

Yes, the quote attributed to Hippocrates is often rendered as "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." This statement reflects the idea that a healthy diet can be a fundamental part of maintaining good health and preventing disease, rather than relying solely on medicines. While the exact phrasing may vary, the essence of the message emphasizes...

Given that you paid so much for these tests, I think it would be a good idea to contact Rootcause Foundation and find out exactly what test for gluten that they ran, and what your results were. I've never even heard of a test for gluten allergy, but have heard of testing for wheat allergy. They should be able to tell you what test you were given, which...

AMB Food Inc. in Brooklyn NY is recalling 8 oz bags of Pop a Nosh Mix Munch Regular and Honey BBQ snacks because it contains pretzels, but does not list Wheat as an allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The products were distributed...

Pre-Diagnosis
Scott Adams replied to bluebnrf's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Feel free to share your blood test results for your celiac disease panel (hopefully they did this). The endoscopy procedure is generally safe and complications are rare. Sedation ensures that the patient feels minimal discomfort. Most people do not remember the procedure and experience only mild side effects like a sore throat or bloating afterward.
