  1. Sweetfudge: I used to get that periodically also, particularly in the winter. I have found a solution that works wonderfully for me though. Get the Infusium Leave-In Treatment and also get a bottle of Tea Tree Oil from the drug store. Put 30 drops of tea tree oil in the bottle of Infusium and shake well. After you shampoo and rinse well spray the...
  2. Happy Birthday Rusla! Hope you got a "21 Jump Street" DVD collection for your birthday! Hugs! Karen
  3. Here in Canada, we are encouraged to "go forth and multiply"..... If you go into the following link and click on "The Importance of Immigration to Canada - A Focus on London", open the document and go to Page 17, you will see that Canada's population decline is being shored up by immigration and that Canadian couples are not only encouraged to "replace...
  4. I had all four of my children before going gluten free (well, three pregnancies, four children!). I wouldn't worry! Believe it or not, I was told in my early 20's I would have a 50/50 chance of ever being able to conceive a child due to endometriosis. I got married at 29, had Eileen at 30, Rhiannon at 35 and the boys (Daniel and Connor) at 37. Just...

    ARCHIVED Ithaca, Ny

My niece goes to Cornell in Ithaca, NY. I can't help you with doctor's names but I wonder if you contact the university, would they know of any celiac-knowledgeable doctors who are making a name for themselves there..... Good Luck! Karen
  6. I have no problem with anything Sinenox has said except for one thing. It is every person's right and privilege to have children or NOT have children. One should not be judged either way. One should also not be judged by the NUMBER of children they have. Does her statement mean that just because I chose to have four children (well, technically, three...
  7. Of course you're "official" Spunky. Who gives a rat's behind whether you actually heard those words from a doctor "You have celiac disease". Gluten = poison, period. End of discussion. Whether it's full blown celiac or gluten intolerance, there is absolutely no difference between the two. So don't worry, you're "official" just like the rest of us!...
  8. I think this poll will help put people at ease..... Those of us "officially" diagnosed don't distinguish between that and an "unofficial" diagnosis. Given the lack of knowledge and the reluctance of the medical field to accept gluten as poison, it's not surprising most people stumble upon the answer themselves..... After all, the bottom line is ...
  9. You can't ask me that until March..... Wake me up when March comes..... Hugs. Karen
  10. Maybe someone thinks we are hotels.......
  11. It sure sounds to me like she is rather envious, and instead of admitting that, she is lashing out with criticism..... Perhaps she sees how happy you are, and if you have a child, you will be even happier. It's sad to think of sisters behaving that way, but it is the nature of the beast...... Hugs being sent your way. Oh, and for the record, children...
  12. Definitely a keeper..... Congrats! And it's great hearing from you again! Hugs. Karen
  13. Official diagnoses mean nothing here.... Considering the lack of knowledge from the medical community about celiac disease/gluten intolerance, it's not surprising most people find their own answers..... Our belief is that the "gold standard" for diagnosis is a positive dietary response.... Also, quite often, once you have been off of gluten for awhile...
  14. Sending good wishes her way..... Oh, and screw the vacuum. Dust bunnies don't contain gluten, so just stay in bed and relax...... Hugs. Karen
  15. The one most important thing you can do is gargle three times a day (especially just before bedtime) with a cup of warm water (as warm as you can handle it) with salt in it. Put 1 teaspoon of salt in a coffee cup and then fill it three quarters of the way with warm water, stir it up with a spoon and then gargle with it. You will be amazed how quickly...
  16. Merry Christmas to everyone! I love you guys! I don't think you guys realize how important you are to me..... Hugs. Karen
  17. Back at ya! You are a wonderful addition to the group! That's what it's all about - taking care of each other..... Hugs. Karen
  18. ROFLMAO!!!! That's okay! I forget my age and I'm in my 40's!!!! Luv ya, Karen
  19. Happy Birthday Judy! Hope it's a wonderful day for you! Sending hugs, Karen
  20. Anybody have any confirmation from their lists as to whether Lea and Perrins Worchesthire sauce is gluten free in Canada? Thanks! Karen
  21. OMG Steph! I am sooo happy for you! Congratulations! Just for the record: My first and second pregnancy, I never had a day of morning sickness through the whole pregnancy. They were the girls...... My third pregnancy, I was sick as a dog throughout the whole pregnancy. They were the boys (the twins)...... That's how I knew I was having boys, because...
  22. Okay guys, I spoke too soon...... I am in extreme pain right now with the excruciating cramps that I usually get and although not as heavy, my period is still heavy (to days of spotting came before the real deal......) So, I guess I have to just be patient and as the website says, it will take a few months before this hormone thing really kicks in....
  23. I guess that's what happens when you deal with a bunch of people who are susceptible to brain fog!
