  1. www.pecanbread.com Open Original Shared Link I get my almond meal from www.digestivewellness.com online. Bob's makes it, but this almond flour is far superior IMO. I love the banana bread. These recipes are so simple and delicious. Keep in mind, nothing will taste like "gluten" foods. Enjoy them for what they are. A sweet delicious treat...
  2. My Sister wont participate in her office's monthly potluck. She says it is because she has seen how some of those women leave the bathroom. It aint pretty. She just always brings her own food and says she is on a diet.
  3. The thing is that you cannot know how sensitive you are until you get all better. And you might not heal well eating the dining hall food. I know it would be very hard to do otherwise, but there are other college students who are managing without the dining hall. And they get better. Once better, you can see what you can tolerate. If you want ideas...
  4. If you do have it, dont let them pressure you into LEEP (can cause complications) until you fully research your options.
  5. Im in Temple Terrace near the University where Hubby is a History Prof. I work from home. Not everyone has to be that extreme, but there are quite a few who do because they are sensitive. If you are not getting results, then it behooves you to be a little more careful. Hair products can easily get in your mouth when showering. My shampoo runs...
  6. It may be nothing at all. So dont worry. Wait for the results. My cervix used to bleed at the drop of a hat. And I did end up having HPV (everyone who has ever had sex has at least a few strains). But I had 2 of the strains associated with Cervical Cancer. And I had pre-cancerous cells. I refused invasive/mutilating surgery (LEEP) and went...
  7. Hmmm..."Knowing Too Much"....let me look that up.
  8. Most need to be 100% gluten-free to heal. No wheat, rye, barley or oats. This means scouring your kitchen and removing old scratched Teflon pans, cutting boards, wooden spoons, toasters, etc. (as they can harbor gluten). This also means checking that all of your hair care, makeup, lip stick, chapstick, creams, etc. are gluten-free. It also means not kissing...
  9. When I first started having major problems I weighed 138 and I am just shy of 5'4. I have always been curvy and big up top (Double D back then) so I looked pretty balanced. I got down to 113 over the years and my boobs deflated. I am now back up to 120 - 122. And I dont eat junk food. I gained healthy weight by eating healthy fats and foods.
  10. Happy Birthday!!
  11. There are other brands with wheat as well: Open Original Shared Link
  12. You might consider looking into the SCD diet for healing. It is naturally gluten-free and helps the gut heal and rebalance itself. Dairy is added in after healing has happened. www.pecanbread.com Many on this forum have benefited from it when gluten-free was not enough.
  13. That is so cool you found him. They all look like little boys to me.
  14. A device called a "Rebuilder" really helped the nerves in my feet and hands for neuropathy. Dont know if it would work for your condition though. I would have B12 & MMA tested plus Ferritin as B12 and iron levels can affect neurological function.
  15. Laurie you got to it before me. Yes, many Celiacs are def. in vitamin D. D protects us from skin cancer.
  16. She should be tested. If you absolutely cannot find a doctor to test her, you can order a Celiac panel through an online lab like Direct Labs or Health Check USA. No doctor required. But by all means, get her tested. Find a new doctor if need be or test yourself. Those symptoms do not sound like GERD to me. There is more going on. If she does have...
  17. If he just needs to heal, a warm water bottle or a heating pad with a towel wrapped around it can be very soothing. I have an appendectomy scar that has some scar tissue attached to my bowel. I can get sharp pains there if I have gas. The heating pad makes it feel so much better.
  18. I agree that "proof" is invaluable. I could have just said, I bought the strips and they didnt work. But I know that this board has standards, so I carried out my experiment with proof that I had bought the strips and done the testing correctly (pictures included). Nothing wrong with providing proof. It helps.
  19. Interesting article Pele. Elaine is against Bifidum, but that article says it is the protective strain. No mention of acidophilus. Of note is that my CDSA showed adequate acidophilus but low bifidum and I am gluten intolerant....hmmmmm
  20. I love it too. Some really wonderful people on here.
  21. Magnesium Stearate is an industrial lubricant. Supplement manufacturers use it so that the product runs smoothly through their machines. It is toxic. Google it. I avoid it in my supplements. Pure Encapsulation makes supplements without toxic fillers. A few other companies do to. I like Magnesium citrate or glycinate.
  22. For me NO. I am so much healthier eating "Grain Free". Maybe I am rare, but I dont miss gluten foods. I have come to enjoy natural whole foods so much.
  23. I think you forgot: Lymphoma, Melanoma and other cancers related to untreated Celiac.
  24. You could have inexpensive T-shirts printed up that say: "If You Feed me Gluten" on the front and on the back it can say "You Must Want Me To Get Sick" Or on the front "Dont Feed Me Gluten" and on the back "Because I dont want Diabeties or Cancer. OR "I have Celiac Disease" on the back "Gluten makes me Hurt" Drop him off each time with one of these...
  25. Any kind of pre-made salads are suspect. You will have to ask them if there is gluten, but there is always the possibility of cross contamination. What type of Spaghetti are you eating??
