  1. Do you frequently kiss a gluten eater who has not brushed their teeth before kissing you? Do you work with art materials/craft products that might contain gluten? Did y6ou replace old scratched Teflon pans, toasters, cutting boards and wooden spoons in your kitchen? Do you use a "mixed" kitchen where someone else uses flour products? Do you work somewhere...
  2. I second the coconut milk. Buy the "lite" version or dilute the full fat a little bit. I back with it all of the time.
  3. When I told my best friend, she said her Sister has Celiac. Isnt it funny how in short order we find others right in our area or social network with it?? I wonder about those statistics you always see posted. I think there are more of us than they say.
  4. My Sis did use Lame Advertisement. You might ask your Doctor about it.
  5. Fig Girl - Gracie is our newest rescue. Can you believe someone dumped her and left her for dead, starving on the side of the road? She is like show quality and the sweetest lovingest kissiest doggie ever. I just ordered Breaking the Vicious Cycle. I got everything I know off of the pecanbread site. I decided to go ahead and read the book. I also...
  6. George's taste just like purified water. I mean I can tell it isnt just water, but it doesnt really have a taste. If that makes sense. The density is a little different or something, but it tastes just fine. Not bitter at all. I generally only take it when I feel the need. And I feel it right now. I just picked up a jug this morning. I had some...
  7. Welcome to the board!! "Cooking Free" was a lifesaver when I just started out: http://www.(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned)/Cooking-Free-200Flav...i/dp/1583332154 I dont eat any processed foods, so I cant help you there. But others will chime in soon enough. Apples and almond butter are one of my quick meals without...
  8. I just got the little expensive buggers. November is my busiest month of the year. I have 2 commissions to complete by Friday. Plus finish a book for my book club this Saturday morning. So I am planning on conducting the experiment this weekend when I will have no distractions. And you need to focus. It isnt an easy test. And it takes way more time...
  9. Squirrels are like rats. They are rodent scavengers and they do carry rabies and other pathogens. Our dogs are hunters. Many a squirrel, possum, snake, mouse and bird have met their demise in our backyard. Even one kitty. I did feel really bad about the cat, but it had no collar, so we just buried it and said a prayer for the owners (whoever they were...
  10. People born in November are the best people. Happy Birthday!!
  11. Me too. I feel for you and hope that the recovery can get on with it for you.
  12. gluten-free diet does not affect the gene test. Use whichever lab your insurance will cover. If they wont, then Enterolab is reasonably priced. I have seen results from all of them. I am sure they are all generally reliable. There is always the chance of a false negative, but it is slim. I have only heard one person in here have to retest and then...
  13. Was it Georges? All of the irritating properties of the latex are removed leaving the healing properties in tact. I do not tolerate any others, but this really soothes me. I take it anytime my GI gets irritated.
  14. Lab tests do not rule out gluten intolerance though. The diet IS the "gold standard".
  15. George's Aloe Juice?
  16. I voted last Thursday. 2 hours to wait. But so worth it!!
  17. My sister just quite smoking in March after 30 years. She got dx breast cancer and decided to turn her life around. So Im rootin for you. BTW smoking inhibits thyroid function. Dry eyes was one of my symptoms of hypoT and my Mom's too.
  18. I just had a dream last night that I was invited by a friend to a huge family get together of ALL CELIACS. My friend kept saying that I would love it because I could eat anything there without any worries or fears. They had BBQ, potato salads, greens, pies....all of my Southern favorites.....what a nice dream.....
  19. I have given this advice to MANY men. I Internet dated for years. I am not a gold-digger, but I can spot a victim on an online dating site a mile away. So I would tell these men (some I became friends with), if you do not want a woman going after your money, do not "put it out there" for her to see you have it. Dont put up a profile picture of you leaning...
  20. BTW Sunflower seeds are like cheeseburgers to squirrels. They give them heart disease. And since squirrels will just eat and eat and eat...they can easily eat the equivalent of 20 or more cheeseburgers a day. My dentist told me that they used to have a large squirrel population until one of the hygienist starting bringing Sunflower seeds to put outside...
  21. Malfunctioning adrenal glands can also disrupt normal body temperature. Shoot for as many endocrinological tests as you can get. I have read that you CAN have Hashi's and Graves at the same time. And some people swing back and forth. So make sure they test you for both antibodies. Have them check your cortisol, aldosterone and renin while at it.
  22. Yes, you can. Just order one online. The glucometers are cheap. But the test strips are pricey. Just so you know. It will come with a booklet that will tell you what to shoot for. I like my fasting to be below 90. Same for 2 hours after eating.
  23. Squirrels are finks!! They eat the heads off of my flowering ginger if I dont scare them off. And I have to bring the orchids onto the porch once they start a little bud or they will eat the buds!! Yup...they are b*st@rds!! Sorry about your cookies.
  24. Umm...do you guys know a different definition of "maverick"? Is it some secret code for something bad? I only know the above definitions.
