  1. Kim, I see your sig and you have soy issues - I contacted the company about their seasoning - they use "a little soy oil" in their seasoning - I ordered mine without then was very happy I did. "Thank you for your interest in Cheeseburger In Paradise. In regards to your question, some of our seasonings contain a small trace of soy oil as a binding agent...
  2. I just recently had to give up peas - just as mine in the garden were coming on too - I love those fresh peas, right out of the garden.
  3. I am totally paranoid about CC - too sensitive and get too sick. I take that chance when we eat out but since I am very careful about my places and I am very specific about how to prepare and cook my meal, I rarely get sick. There are one or two places that I can go but avoid unless I really need to attend a work function but I always get sick, no matter...
  4. I have color in two of mine and had no problems - little tip, don't get one over stretch marks - can make it feel (on the surface) a little funny, looks fine but I can feel the difference.
  5. For unmelted butter replacement in baking, I use lard - no extra flavor (like the palm oil - funny taste), I use canola oil for melted butter. Never have any problems and my pie crusts are better than ever before, and I like to bake pies.
  6. The way I started to notice my additional intolerances was I began like you but started to notice a pattern - soy was the first to rear its ugly head.
  7. And I use the microwave before anyone else so their steam (laugh now but I have gotten sick) was absorbed into my gluten-free dressing leftovers after thanksgiving.
  8. I ate very few carbs before going gluten-free, now they make up about 1/2 my diet - not good. Right after going gluten-free, I craved sweets but couldn't eat them due to the yeast and corn thing so I ate extra salt and extra potatoes. I am finally off the salt kick - luckily I have always had low blood pressure otherwise I might have gone a little bonkers...
  9. I do the same thing with the dishcloths, almost. I wipe everything down, rinse really really well, re-wipe, rinse really really well again, wipe it down one more time and then, if I will be using the counter, I go back over it with my special, gluten-free sponge. I have a drawer full of washrags and they are always in the wash. And I wonder why hubby...
  10. I have played with the grains and some plain rice doesn't bother me, I just don't overdo it. Also, I was afraid I had issues with potatoes but now that I fixed the other things, I am fine and I have potatoes on a regular basis. My sister has issues with nightshades.
  11. I just found out two new things to watch, one an intolerance - I think, just this month. I cannot have any meat if it has been sitting out in the meat section, I only seem to be able to eat meat behind the counter, not wrapped, not packaged. Also, no more non-dairy milk (except I haven't tried my Vance's yet - I will, I will), no rice, no hazlenut. For...
  12. I often crave pizza or guac. - don't know why, just every now and then out of the blue and I have to have it - NOW.
  13. There are levels of lactose intolerance. Many people can even drink a little milk without any problems, I don't know of any but I have heard that, others can tolerate cheese (not american) and yogurt - my step-daughter can but not much more than that--she rarely gets sick at our house because I am very careful with her diet, whether she knows it or not, even...
  14. My youngest son, who is lactose intolerant, cannot tolerate ANY dairy products, including hard cheeses, without 3 lactaid ultra pills - at 82lbs. We started with one, then two, but three is all that will help. As long as he takes his lactaid, he is OK so it is not a casein intolerance (and we tested the theory with an elimination diet). Maybe there is...
  15. I discovered a problem with the gluten-free breads (I went a little crazy baking and cooking all the breads and muffins I could find when I first switched over) and found out my problem was not a bread issue but a yeast issue. I am not saying that you have that problem, only that I did. I like the Chebe breads which help but not great for sandwhiches...
  16. When eating out, I order all my food, cooked in its own clean skillet, everything unseasoned--I can add salt at the table if I want, no butter, no bun, no sauces, no dressing, etc. and use the term allergy because people can understand and respect that better. I am one of those who is intolerant to yeast (and bunches of other stuff) - I cannot have any...
  17. Lactose intolerance can be a first, if you miss the rest because they are and can be very general or are asymptomatic sympton of celiac disease.
  18. I think there is a brand of tator tots that is gluten-free, CF, DF--don't know though, maybe someone else can point you in that direction. You can make your own chicken nuggets (bake or fry) so that they are safe for her too. Cheeseless homemade pizza is GREAT. I just read that Muir Glen (delphi form) is now using a corn-derived citric acid so you may need...
  19. We do homefries, like Carla, with olive oil and our BBQ salt. Grilled squash/zuchini, onions, peppers, and potato slices (nuke them first for about 5-7 minutes to speed up grill time). Last night, I had a pasta with a fresh tomato mix on top with olive oil, fresh oregano, basil, garlic, and some lemon. Very nice light.
  20. I have my own condiments, completely separate from everyone else's--on my own top shelf in the 'fridge. Naturally gluten free meals are very easy and can be enjoyed, even by step-children, trust me. It just takes a little time. My SD loves my spaghetti with rice pasta (tinkanika something - I can't spell it but they are the best). We dealt with the...

    ARCHIVED Normal Bm's

OK, for the first time in YEARS, I don't have anything in my diet, currently, that is bothering me. AND the first thing I noticed was, wow, I am not going to the bathroom 3+ times a day, always D. I was NORMAL!!!! Even told the hubby--I was so proud (scarry, ain't it).
  22. I am the only one in our house of 5 with this restrictive of a diet (read below). Most of meals i.e., dinner, are gluten free unless I am too tired and have enough for me to eat then I let the kids fix a pizza. If we are warming or cooking separate foods, mine goes first - I have gotten sick by letting them go first. Nobody complains because they don't want...
  23. I make my own breakfast sausage, meat+spices=sausage but I don't measure anything but will try here. But, you could modify this to have more garlic and less breakfast by tweaking - I only throw stuff in and hope it works...it usually does. My hubby really likes it sweet so you may really want to cut back on the sugar and add more oregano than sage (sounds...
  24. First, I call the place before I go to see if they will be willing to cook for me (I have so many restrictions) and most places I chose say yes. When I go in, I explain that I am the problem child (not a child - I just turned 40) in the group and am very nice. I explain that I have called or eaten there before and they are willing to cook for me. I thank...
  25. My son's school has block scheduling and it works really well for him. Day one, 4 classes, Day two 4 other classes, and Friday's have built in study hall. When he had huge projects due for CP Biology last year, he had an extra day - theoreticly (sp??) but it really helped him. He is dislexic, disgraphic, and has ADHD. He originally planned on Latin for...
