  1. So, just to throw something out there....Do you (or anyone that has a same situation) wonder if maybe just maybe, people that do this are doing for the attention they get. Like your mom being sick and you asking her what's wrong, are you ok. The sympathy vote or the "oh, poor baby." stuff. Just a thought that perhaps people like this crave the attention....
  2. I have never had a problem with it.
  3. Agave isn't a good choice for a sugar sub... Open Original Shared Link great article on agave.
  4. If you are concerned about sugar use Stevia or pure Dextrose. There is a great article about sugars here: Open Original Shared Link Best of luck.
  5. Interesting. I guess time will tell.
  6. Thanks for the info. Just was kind of weird when I found out I ate some mistakingly because I was told it was gluten-free and then I found out there was flour in it. So with something like this as I continue to be gluten-free and the years go by does the symptoms ever return if acidently glutened? Or is that depending from person to person? Your knowledge...
  7. Mine seem too have changed as well. I wonder if you can be a symptomatic celiac and then become asymptomatic after going gluten free? Anyone experience this? My reason for asking is before I was gluten-free I had the general stomach symptoms and then after gluten free I unknowingly twice in a matter of 2 weeks ate something with gluten and had not a single...
  8. Your right. Who cares what we do or don't eat!!!! It
  9. I use FMLA every year for Celiac. To my understanding most places require an employee to be with a company for 12 months before appling for FMLA. The legal side of it here (I would check online, each state may also be different, I dunno), you are allowed 12 weeks total throughout the year for that particular FMLA. After a year it expires and you have to file...
  10. How bout a fresh piece of fruit? No labels to read, naturally gluten free, good on the go. I know it's not chocolate, but it's a good sweet tooth fix that is healthier than candy or muffins. Although those are awesome too.
  11. Congratulations on your new adventure! I am not sure if you have health issues that got you to this point, but the journey here was the toughest for most of us. So if that is your situation, your not alone. This site is the best site for us, the information is great and the people are awesome. We can and are your support group through this new...
  12. Forgive me if this comes across in a "rude" way. It is not my intention. My thought is only to help. I can't help but to wonder why you would eat something that you
  13. Hi Guys, I am thinking about using winder farms for the bulk of my shopping (eggs, meats, milk, produce, etc...I like to eat organic) Anyone have any experiences with this company? They do not carry any gluten free breads but they do share whats in everything, so that's good. Thoughts?

    ARCHIVED Lupus

Hi Guys, I have noticed that I tend to be getting flare ups at random these last few months of stomach upset, nausea, low-grade fevers, fatigue (bad), sweating, chills, a general feeling of being sick. I have it right now. They generally kick my butt for a couple days then die down. Today I have a new symptom. I have a light red butterfly rash on my face...
  16. I know, but it's so expensive. I might break down one day and order it.
  17. I have been researching this because I too want to go on a cruise. To be honest I have been calling them directly and asking how they have gluten free dinning in place. Here is what I gathered so far... Carnival: they have no policy or procedures in place for gluten free dinning. Meaning they will make you gluten-free choices, but there are no guidelines...
  18. I would love to try Udi's, nothing but good stuff I hear from all of you...*sigh* my whole foods doesn't carry it nor will they according to the rep I spoke too. I am in Vegas, so I don't know why they won't carry it, but I am sad. Maybe one day.
  19. In regards to a gall bladder, I had exactly the same issue, I have been gluten-free since feb 2009 and in late april the pains in the right side began. I knew it was my gall bladder, but when I went to the ER they did a HIDDA scan that showed everything was ok. The HIDDA scan is suppose to show stones or blockages. HOWEVER, if you do a HIDDA Scan with CCK...
  20. Same here, had some last week, no issues! Enjoy!
  21. For those of you that use agave, you should read this. Just something that we really should all be aware of. Open Original Shared Link Just trying to help.
  22. Wow. I will stick with Glutino. I do hope however that Snyders (if the story is a true one) gets their head out of their arse and really does make a truely gluten-free product. Otherwise, they are going to kill their product before it's even known with the gluten-free community. Dumb Dumbs...
  23. How frustrating! It
  24. Ok scratch that, I have a 3CM mass in my liver... Ugh...MRI here I come.
  25. Thanks all for your responses. I realize it's tough with something like this and I appreciate the feedback. Today I had another flare up of extreme pain in the gut area-generally around the belly button both to the right and left. With horrible back pain, cold sweats, severe nausea. At the time I was driving (or trying too) it was the worst. Lasted...
