  1. I love Jay Robb's. It's a bit pricy. But it tastes fantastic and it's gluten-free. Also, it's a better processed protien, cleaner without all that "junk" that others have. Another option is www.mercola.com, he has a awesome whey powder as well. It's high on the whey chart for me. I can use Jay Robb's whey powder mix, but if you have issues with milk...
  2. I know this thread was started earlier this year. But I too have been having weird things happening to me and I think it's the coffee. For over a week I have had the swollen, itchy tongue, with D and tummy issues going on. I also saw a gray/white film on my tongue the other day. I did some research and I think I have a coffee/caffine intolerance. Apparently...
  3. That sucks. But at least they are trying. I see this alot with Fries. Then when you ask if it's a dedicated fryer, you get the deer in head lights look. I also have experienced this in a pizza place. They have the gluten-free pizze crust, but when I asked about the toppings, sauce, etc...I got a blank stare. They they proceeded to explain that the toppings...
  4. Just read the label. I have seen 1 sour cream that wasnt gluten-free. I wish I could remember the name of the brand. But it did list wheat. So just becareful. I always buy Daisy. Good luck!
  5. I agree. Not to mention that the FDA also declares things like aspartame, floride and other toxic substances safe..doesn't necessarily make them safe. Just because someone says something is ok...doesn't mean its ok, it's just what someone says...Do your own research. Your body, your mind, you're allowed to decide what goes in your body or not. Don...
  6. Mine too. We are all truely blessed to have men in our lives that are willing to accept, eat and live through and with our gluten issues.
  7. That sucks. Seems like companies add this stuff at random, probably not..but it seems like it. I guess it's just more affirmation (at least for me) not to eat this junk.
  8. I find it fascinating how people give a crap what you are eating or not eating. Your body, your mouth. You can decide what not to eat and what to put in it. End of discussion, no need for further explanation. Maybe it's just me, but who cares. Really, why are other people so concerned with what other people are eating? I think our society is obsessed with...
  9. Hehe, I hear ya...people who say I have celiacs drives me nuts...it's not celiacs, it's celiac. There is no plural, unless your saying "a group of celiacs", otherwise it's singular. As: I am a celiac or I have celiac disease. It's not, I have celiacs. Unless you are collecting a group of celiac people....then I guess I have celiacs would work.. ...
  10. I agree. Besides who says flour/wheat is actually good for the body? No so much, maybe back in the old days when it was truly natural and organic, today they have "high" gluten, "super" gluten and everything is GMO. So in my mind the body might be right in this case, attack the evil gluten! Stuffs bad for people.
  11. I have actually become that person. At first I would get horrible CC or gluten reactions during the first 5-6 months of being gluten-free. Now still gluten-free, I have become asymptomatic/no reactions, etc. I ate a meal that was suposed to be gluten-free and then after eating it I found out it wasn't..I had no reaction. I started to doubt the diagnosis....
  12. I eat before hand, it's safe, no issue...Done. If they don't like it, that's too bad. Your body, your comfort level. Thats just my 2 cents.
  13. Yes Bob's products do expire, at least the flours that I have used. I hope he feels better.
  14. Wow. Well I hear the best diet is one with NO, and I mean NO processed foods. Hard as that might be, your body likes it better and it is natural. So an idea, maybe crazy. How about things like Mustard or Kechup you make at home? All natural ingredients, right? Maybe thats the way to go. Make more things at home. Or you just don't eat those things...
  15. Ahh. That's too bad. Sounds extremely legalistic to me, but thats my opinion. I hope it all works out for her.
  16. Your right to doesn't address celiac issue, but the "bread" isn't specified, doesn't say whole wheat or rye bread, etc. So does the bread like substance really matter? Back then everything was organic and more el'natural then today. So times changes, super gluten rules the world So, would it matter if it had gluten or not? Thats just like saying it needs...
  17. I think the concept of communion is more symbolic in nature rather than in literal terms. So in my mind if it
  18. You go girl! hmmm, treats....yummie!
  19. That's interesting. It didn't know that, it's the salt! Hmph. Thank. Makes sense now.
  20. As a side note, many blue cheeses are now safe. Some still aren't, but there are several that I have ran into that are safe and even one says, "gluten free" on the label. I think it starts with an M, in the frig section next to the salad stuff. Not all of them are made with bread anymore, as it is more expensive. They have been making them more often with...
  21. I had the same thing. It took the doctors way to long to figure it out but I knew it was my gallbladder. No stones, and they did the hidda scan told me it was fine. It wasn't. I had to have the doctor specifically ask for the hidda scan with CCK contrast. This will show how hard or not the gallbladder is working. So, if you don't have stones and still have...
  22. I am so sorry for your loss. *hugs*
  23. Thanks for the great sugestions! Much appreciated. I hope that I am, so does the Hubby. So it would be a blessing. And worth the sickness LOL.
  24. Hi Ladies, I need your advice. My last period was 8/20 through 8/27. I had weird bleeding on 9/5 in the evening that lasted for about an hour, then again on 9/7 same thing. No pain very mild bleeding. Then I started to get pain in my ovaries. And lower back. Nausea, tender breasts more than on a period; and I am so exhausted (constantly). I still have...
  25. I live in Vegas. I eat at Outback, Red Robin, PF Changs, Pei Wei, In n' Out, The Cracked Egg, Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, Joe's Crab Shack, Chilli's, and there are so many more on the Urban Spoon website. I know there are a few places on the strip. I don't live close to those, but there are many options.
