Hi All- I am not sure where to start but I feel like many of you might be like me or had similar experiences. I have been gluten free since Feb 2009 and I was feeling fantastic! I started to experience pain in the gall bladder area in May 2009 and it was finally removed in July 2009 (working at 13%), so digestive wise I feel great! However, I feel like I...

I use and would highly recommend checking out; www.mercola.com Through their online chat I confirmed that all of their products are gluten free. May want to double check, I confirmed this in Nov 2009. As we all know things change, but no issues so far. Many of the products are top notch and have been great in my experience. I do a multi vitamin...

Salax replied to CelestialNav's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Mine did have one, then all of a sudden it was gone! I was livid! Still am to a degree....I was told management pulled it. No reason given. I rarely go to walmart anymore now because of it. Sucks. I am in Henderson, NV (Las Vegas area) -
ARCHIVED Recently Diagnosed Celiac; Relieved, Angry And Sad
Salax replied to kayo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I feel for you and I must say I think I am something of a rarity here. I did not go through the grief process like most of you did. Perhaps it is just my character. But I can tell you I was pissed. Pissed at the doctors that didn -
I am Italian and refuse to eat there. The food isn't that great and I can make sauce from scratch at home with gluten-free pasta that tastes fantastic with no chance of getting sick. So to me it's worth not going there. Evil food chains...LOL

ARCHIVED Anybody Out There A Morbidly Obese Celiac?
Salax replied to ts1986's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
AliB, Can you explain how you eat/what you eat on a daily basis? I really think that your diet would work for me greatly! Any advice would be awesome! I too am an overweight Celiac, but I wasn't always, only about the last 7 years. And I still feel like my body needs a different plan of eating and your approach seems logical and I think my body likes... -

Hi Guys, My hubby's family does a October cruise every year to mexico out of cali and always uses carnival. I tried to get them to use Royal Caribbean, but apparently they don't do this cruise anymore. My fear is the I have read some bad feedback on carnival. Anyone use them recently? This would be my first cruise. I don't really want to go to...

Hi All- As my Celiac family (all of you) I wanted so see if any of you have some tips for introducing current pets with a new pet. Currently we (me and the hubby) have adopted 2 cats and a dog, our dog is a female 10 years old maltese, very HIGH strung, she wasn't well taken care of prior to our rescue of her. She has gotten better, but she is...

ARCHIVED Walmart Labeled Item "Gluten Free" But States May Contain Wheat!
Salax replied to Darissa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I agree. It's a confusing statement and possibly deceptive. And if I was still a "noobie" at this I would be confused. I imagine that perhaps some newer Celiac's are. -
ARCHIVED Pamela'S Products
Salax replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know. I did a double take....I even looked at some of the other ones at that cost and they had the same "specs" (6inch round, 1.25 pound cake). I thought I was going to choke. They do list a few of them for $63 and change, those are 8 packs with smaller rounds. Still pricey.. But dang she makes good food. I seriously am going to make my own.... -
I am full blooded Italian an I feel your pain.... But in all honesty, I am use to it and it's really not that bad. Or I should say the sickness I had before being gluten-free isn't worth repeating for a piece of wheat bread or pasta...

ARCHIVED Diagnosis - Can We Help The People Coming After Us?
Salax replied to T.H.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Think this is an excellent idea. Imagine if all of us did just 3 letters to doctors in our area, it could have a profound impact. Perhaps the answer is to not only have a Celiac awareness day, but to be activists in our own communities. -
ARCHIVED Pamela'S Products
Salax replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well I tried to post the link but this forum won't take it (as you can see), but if you go to the link and the product information on the site, it takes you to purchase through amazon an it's on page 6. It's listed as a single item for $49.31, 6inch round 1.25 pound new york cheese cake. http://astore.(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and... -
ARCHIVED Pamela'S Products
Salax replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Wow...I am drooling. Only problem is it's really expensive. I get that gluten free flour mixes are expensive but cream cheese? Common now, 6 inch round cheese cake for $50 bucks, seriously? Might have to make my own.....*puts the gloves on* -
ARCHIVED Having Pain From Eating Non Gluten Foods
Salax replied to Pianogirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My 2 cents.... Eating only bread, potatoes and fruit - Those are all carbs, not good. My thoughts 1. Have you been to the doctor? 2. Are you backed up? With only carbs in your diet, your body may not be processing food correctly. Carbs "stick" to our bowel walls....just food for thought. 3. Is your pain on the right side and up your back? IF so... -
Eat light meals: chicken soup with rice or rice noddles, jello, eggs...make sure you drink plenty of water and gatorade. I would also recommend some probotics. While you are on the mend, try not to stress...it's possible that it can be the stomach flu. I had that a while back and though it was glutening until I went to my doc. I hope you feel...

ARCHIVED Help Me Figure Out What Had Gluten
Salax replied to Coleslawcat's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I once found a non gluten free sour cream....I wish I could remember the name...Dang it! But they are out there. Kroger though I just had a few days ago and it was gluten-free and I was ok. I am wondering about the gold fish crackers.....those are bad bad gold fish...any chance the little one were eating them and then maybe touched the torillas or dipped... -
ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Protein Powders
Salax replied to olivia1010's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I love Jay Robb's whey protien powder. Also, Dr. Mercola's Miracle Whey Protien powders are all gluten-free, according to the rep I spoke too. I love the chocolate, the strawberry is kinda blah and the hubby loves the vanilla. Not sure how the others taste. To add-Dr. Mercola's website: Open Original Shared Link He has an interesting article... -
Since we are on the topic of Starbucks....Does anyone get light headed or dizzy from any of their drinks? Everytime I get a decaf white chocolate mocha with soy milk, I get the dizzies and light headed. I stopped drinking regular coffee as it gave me the D, but no dizzies or light headed with the same drink only caffinated.

ARCHIVED Am I Celiac?
Salax replied to olivebee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It sounds like you might be one of us. If the gluten-free diet is working, stay off the gluten for as long as you can. If you get better and better, I would say you definitely have either a gluten intolerance and/or allergy or even celiac disease. If a actual diag is important, you'll need to be eating gluten...if not, stay gluten free and be well! -
ARCHIVED Need Guidance Fast!
Salax replied to NHMOM's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
First I would like to say, Take a deep breath and breathe. You've come to the right place. Now, for your little one make sure she drinks water and gatorade (the fruit punch and most of the other flavors are Gluten Free, I think only 2 have gluten if they still do at all), also Jello is good. That should help keep her hydrated. Second, for food. I... -
Ahh woopie pies (although I am from Vegas, yes I am a native...I do no what those are) my dad is from back east. So maybe thats the challenge you need? Do you like to cook/create? That is awesome series of books btw! Moving on.....I know life appears to suck right now, but you are on the mend (right?, your gluten-free yes?) Your ex has to deal with himself and his issues, they are not your issues. Besides who wants a guy that will walk out at the first sign of a hardship? Your better than that, you deserve better than that. I...
