  1. I agree with everything posted. I would add though if you are going to order grilled meat..have them grill it on foil. It takes a couple minutes longer..but it will be safer from cc. Also, I carry a small tupperwear of seasoning with me. So the food isn't boring. You can also ask for lemon wedges and olive oil for veggies. A1 for steaks. There are options...
  2. Thanks for the reply. Sorry I am delayed in getting back to you, I ended up in the hospital! As it turns out it's ulcers and although my gall bladder is dumping some bile into my stomach.... ............ We are trying to heal the stomach before we result into removing the gall bladder. I have more tests to do. On the flip side, my villi are beautiful!! ...
  3. I got diagnosed with hashimoto's to start with an enlarged thyroid/goiter. Then labs confirmed it. Meds where the only thing I could do to get the goiter down in size. It came down quite a bit after a couple of months of meds. I take synthyroid, it doesn't bother me. I an not familar with alternatives or other options for treatment. I guess you could have...
  4. I was wondering if anyone else with gastroparesis and celiac has any other issues with their gall bladder or other stomach organs? I think I have a gall bladder issues. After eating it hurts under my right rib cage upper right area with some back pain...when I eat fatter foods it's even worse or with salads. My hunch is that its my gall bladder. I am going...
  5. Hormel Black Label Bacon..YUMMIE!
  6. I have taken it. When I was being treated for candida. With oregano the activated charcoal is also suppose to help "eat up" the toxic gas that the candida/bacteria release as they die. It's seemed to work for me.
  7. I think that is brillant! Makes sense to me.
  8. I also read some where that the large reese's cups were NOT gluten-free, only the mini's were. Can anyone confirm or deny that? Those are my favorites. Thanks!

    ARCHIVED Smell

LOL now that you say it..your right my nose is like a dogs..It was pretty good before going gluten-free..now it's even more super powered! To bad I can smell cc in my food. That would be super hero cool! Sometimes I think its a blessing that my smell is so good, sometimes I think it's a curse. But thanks to your post I no longer feel crazy for getting...
  10. Becareful with whole corn. It's very dificult to digest regardless but even harder in whole kernals. Many GI's told me it's not un common for corn to come out whole. I thought I also read somewhere that kids weren't suppose to eat corn until after a certain age. Not sure on that, but I would recommend if your little one has other food issues, for now cut...

    ARCHIVED Smell

Gem, (hope it's ok for me to call ya that) I definitely get the gag reflex and want to run..then the nausea sets in after awhile of staying there and not running. And same thing with the bread section at the store. Even when my co-workers are eating gluten foods, man I gotta leave the office.

    ARCHIVED Smell

I am not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I gotta ask this. Does anyone (besides myself) react with nausea when smelling regular bread, toasted bread, etc? I get really nauseated. Once I get out of the area I am better. But I wonder if it's a mental reaction or not. Meaning I smell it and know consuming it will make me sick...
  13. I believe allgery tests are available. For me, before the confirmed allergic reaction test, I self tested. After noting in a food journal about 3 days the only common factor was casein products (milk, cheese)...I didn't eat any for a day, noticed improvement. I decided to test my theory and eat some. Sure enough..reaction. Afterwards my doc tested me for...
  14. I am, but its the casein for me. Instant D and pain in the tummy almost immediately.
  15. You could try gas-x and my favorite is ginger ale for an upset tummy; vernors is my preferred brand. Here is post on gluten-free beverages: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...d=27&cat=55 Feel better!
  16. Karen, you should be confused. That is a confusing diagnosis or lack there of. ...doctors today... I would say that because the blood shows positive you do have celiac disease. My biopsy was negative and blood work positive. And my doc told me the same thing in 2000 (I have it, then I didn't). So, I went back to eating gluten and was ever sick for...
  17. I like almond milk, it's my favorite milk. I would recommend it. If you are going to try it, try not to think of it as it should taste as cows milk, because you'll be expecting cows milk taste and that could mess ya up..you know like when you go to drink pepsi/coke and it's diet... so it's not anything like cows milk. I personally like it better. I get...
  18. I use A1. No issues for me. There is a thread here: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=15967 about it.
  19. Very cool then that you have those nailed down. Us celiac's seems to always have more than one intolerance, huh. Hehe. Have you tried almond milk or hemp milk, those might be an option for you too. Not sure if you do almonds (again some of us can't, I can't do them whole..diverticulitis). Also too, I noticed that I am super sensitive to even the...
  20. 3 days for me. I feel ya. Hang in there. It will pass.
  21. I agree with you. I had the same problem. I stopped eating gluten and still I got sick. Until I finally realized I needed to research and do a food journal. I realized it was dairy and took it out..woot! I wasn't sick after eating at all. I think that Jestgar has a very valid point. Even though your lets say...the most sensitive celiac in the world, doesn...
  22. I believe casein is still present in whey as it's the protein from the milk. I have not seen casein removed from anything milk derived. I could be wrong, I would hope if I am someone would correct me. In regards to damage, many celiacs do not have any symptoms at all yet their villi are still damaged. So in regards to casein, I would assume that even...

    ARCHIVED Salsarita's

I feel ya. Grats you enjoyed your food and didn't' get sick! I can't find good mexican here that doesn't make me sick. I have reverted to making my own..LOL. I feel your pain. This last weekend my hubby and me went camping out of town. We had our bestfriend watch the house and the dog. Bad idea. Last night I went to make myself peanut butter and...
  24. I would say that it does affect healing, after all you could never have symptoms but the body still produces an immune response to the gluten...therefore damage occurs..whether you feel that or not. That is celiac disease. However...Have you been diagnosed with Celiac or are do you just think you are gluten intolerant? If you are intolerant to gluten...
  25. Honestly, I would recommend buying naturally gluten-free foods; fruit, veggies and fresh meat. Once you start with processed foods you will run the risk of items containing or getting cc'd with gluten. There are things like salad dressings, gluten-free pasta, potato chips, etc you can find at the store. But you need to read everything to look for gluten or...
