  1. Hi There, I highly recommend Body for Life, www.bodyforlife.com (everything I am about to share is in the book) Most of what everyone is saying here is also in this book. You would have to modify the plan slightly since we can't eat gluten foods, so what I do is eat more veggies. Eat 5 to 6 small meals per day, with 6 days of 30 minutes of activity...
  2. Let us not forget that many makeups are extremely toxic (regardless of gluten) and the skin being a major organ has our livers flitering out the crap and junk we put on our skin. Personally, I use Larenim Open Original Shared Link Besides being gluten free, it also lacks the other chemicals that are harmful. A friend of mine shared a website with me...
  3. I use the Whey Protein from Jay Robb. It's awesome. I mix it with a little milk and ice, I use the chocolate and will sometimes add a banana or peanut butter to the mixture. Great breakfast. It's not dairy free though, I was trying to find one coming from the Muscle Milk (that one is, but has wheat in it) prior to Celiac Dx. I can eat small amounts of dairy...
  4. I agree, bring your own food. I live in Vegas....Buffets are crazy here. I would NEVER eat at one. I use to work in a casino, I hate to say it but generally speaking they could care less about cc. Really. It's sad but true.
  5. Wow. If it were me, I'd give the teacher a $20 dollar bill and then ask her, "are you done now? can we move on?" With a huge smile on my face.....But I am sh*t disturber as my father tells me. Good luck with that teacher.....looks like she doesn't know how to let go. Bravo to your little one though!
  6. I have never seen any type of drug intervention of someone addicted to pot. Just saying....... As far as the CC goes, if you wouldn't kiss someone with a "gluten'd" mouth, don't share a glass, straw, cig or anything else with them either. Just my two cents.
  7. Well, maybe I will consider not buying their coffee anymore then. It's not a healthy treat, now is it. Maybe if we all did this and spread the word....they might actually listen? Just a thought.
  8. I was diagnosed without weightloss.
  9. Same here. However; it has been mentioned that gluten-free processed foods tend to be really high in calories and can cause weight gain. So, I am getting rid of those and immediately I see a difference.
  10. My fav is toasting some gluten-free waffles. One side peanut butter, other side jelly, and slap them together, run out the door and your gtg. You can also do this with cream cheese and jelly.
  11. Wow, I would definitely get the blood test if nothing else. I would also go gluten-free after that test has been done. If your mom isn't big on the idea to take you to the doctor for the test, I would then just go gluten-free and see how you feel. I find it very sad and frustrating how unsupportive family/parents/friends can be when we are trying to feel...
  12. I also have KP. I have noticed since going gluten-free that it's slowly going away.
  13. I haven't had any issues with the plain ones. Haven't tried the salt and vinegar yet.
  14. If it's not Celiac, perhaps it's Gluten Intolerance. Since, you seem to feel better not eating gluten...I would say it's one or the other.
  15. To my knowledge the caramel and mocha fraps are safe. I would ask to read the labels on the mixes. Or call them.
  16. The Betty Crocker Brownies are EXCELLENT! My non celiac nephew and Hubby couldn't tell the difference. Go Betty Crocker!! WOOT!
  17. Peter, your so wise! Everytime I read one of your posts, I learn something new. Mandy, I would guess Peter might be on to something here. Best of luck.
  18. I use Giovanni products. I think (could be wrong) they have a mouse or gel. I buy at Ulta. You can buy online too.
  19. Woot! There's always something else out there that can replace something that we can't eat. Positive thinking is a great thing to have! Also, regarding startbucks your right the website sucks for allergen information. I always ask at my local starbucks and they let me read the labels to check for myself. So they are trying at least.
  20. Your gut is right. This one contains gluten as does the one with the chips in it. I did ask about the strawberry one, if it was modified from the vanilla bean and it is NOT. They each have their own mixure. So just avoid the vanilla bean and the one with the chips.
  21. I eat there all the time and never have an issue. I am in Las Vegas. I know when first tried it I felt sick because of the dairy..which I shortly cut out afterwards for 4 months and tried it again with cheese, it was awesome. No issues for me.
  22. My advice would be to be the "bigger" person. Ignore it or get up and walk away. If you show that it bothers you, chances are he likes the reaction he is getting from you. Take away that power that you give him.
  23. I would recommend Gas-X as well. I feel for ya. Perhaps eating lighter meals (eggs, soup, etc) without the dairy and sugar as someone sugested would help? I also use vernors ginger ale. Ginger is soothing to the stomach. Peppermint pills are another soother. Best of luck to you.
  24. Woot! This is great news! Thanks for sharing. I love Trix and I am getting board with Chex.
  25. That full feeling for me seems more prominent now than before. I am hoping for me it will help with weight loss as well. That could be a good side affect for me. Since this whole deal started in 2000 I have gained about 80 pounds. Thank goodness I am tall, so I can carry better than most, but I would like to be "back to normal" at some point.
