Of anything I miss a good thick pizza crust. I hate the gluten free crusts that always seem like a cracker. Oh and a fresh hot donut. Although, there are alternatives to those. Oh and good fresh mexican food, soft flour tacos..yumie. dang gluten.... Hmmm, what to cook for dinner.

I have gone to Jason's many times with no issues...except on Monday this week. I believe, I got glutened from there, usual symptoms. So just becareful and watch them if you can. Also, if you feel uncomfortable, ask for the manager. I should have this last time. I think the person I had was training..

Hi Guys, I am begining to suspect I have Leaky Gut. And I am trying to find accurate resources on diet information for this. Does any one have any really good sources on Leaky Gut and the Diet? Any personal experiences with De-toxing or not? I was thinking about going Paleo anyways, but I am not sure on the fruit side of things and the whole discussion...

Thats what I thought. I need to ask. I hope it's not the doctor that is confused. I'd get another doc. Thanks guys. -
Question for all you brainie-acks out there
-
I have the same. I higly recommend George's Aloe Vera juice twice a day. Once in the AM and once before bed. About 1/2 of a shot glass full. More than that can give you D. I have the herna as well, my doc started me on this for 3 weeks, symptoms gone, it heals the herna and the throat, etc.. When or if they start again, go back on the aloe. You should be...

I have started using this one as well, as I recently discovered a allergy to soy. It's a good protien, it doesn't upset my stomach or taste like Peas..for those of you wondering. It mixes well with other additions and takes on the flavor (PB, fruit, etc). It's a good choice for us troubled tummy people.
-
Thanks for the info, I believe my reaction is that of allergy vs intolerance, so I think your right the lecithin is bad bad for me. I believe I also had trouble breathing, so I hear ya.
-
I guess that makes sense, but agree a "may contain" warning would be helpful. Any places that we can eat out without gluten and soy safely?
-
It's totally what they are puttin' in that tummy that cause tummy troubles. People don't want to take the time or they don't get it..imho. Food is just like fuel for cars, you put the wrong kind in...issues pop up, car doesn't function so well.. But yes that chocolate isn't bad, especially with gobs of PB on it! Yum!
-
I experienced this as well. My hubby was taking out everthing in the pantry with soy (God, I love that man!...He is so good to me), anywho we also discovered that the vegetable oil had soy! I was dumb struck! And so was he. CRAZY, what is soy doing in there! So ya, trash canned that. Also, corn tortilla chips and PB, thank GOD I still have my PB (el' natural...

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed, Can't Really Afford The Over Priced Foods.
Salax replied to tessabear's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Premade as in frozen in a box type? Just a secret between you and me, those are bad bad bad for one's health. Oops not a secret anymore! I guess it's a good thing you don't care for them, just as well...you'll be eating WAY healther than they will. And feeling better too. -
Thanks. It's amazing what's in our food. I am still surprised more and more people haven't developed food allergies or intolerences at a faster rate. Maybe they are, I don't know..maybe they don't care. Either way it sucks..lol I miss my chocolate. Luckily I found an alternative without soy or gluten, YEAH!

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed, Can't Really Afford The Over Priced Foods.
Salax replied to tessabear's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That sucks. Perhaps food stamps or there might be outreach centers in your area that do food services? In all honesty the best way to heal your body is by not eating the processed gluten-free foods right now. I know the varity can suck, but it's doing your body good. I would stick with meats, veggies, fruits, rice, corn, potatoes, beans, nuts, and seeds for... -
So the last few weeks I have noticed that something has been making my tongue itch and swell, which finally got to the point of making my lips puff and tingle. (It was not the Angelina Jolie look I was hoping for, ) Seriously, it scared me. I thought it was caffine, because I was drinking coffee and pepsi like a fish. So I stopped that, seemed still mildly...

ARCHIVED Never Thought I Would Be Able To Do This
Salax replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Congrats, now go celebrate...buy yourself something special and make an awesome dinner!!! Rock on!!! -
I was thinking the same thing. Crazy how they add gluten/wheat to naturally gluten free foods. Like asparagus and broccoli. My only thought is either its the seasoning or even more so I am guessing they blanch (spelling?) them in the boiling pasta water? Unless there is a glutening fairy that comes at night and sprinkles gluteny particles on the veggies...
-
Oh I hate that! It's they think its a joke or its a fun/funny thing..hehe, haha, giggle....When I want to do is slap them when they make that ignorant comment. It's like you want to grab their food and sprinkle it with a arsenic and give it back to them while saying, "Oops sorry, a little won't hurt you." then giggle. OOOOH that would feel good.

ARCHIVED So Frustrated! What Would You Do?
Salax replied to Ox on the Roof's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree as well. Yes, casien and/or/both lactose intolerence seems to be a common thing in us celiac's that experience issues with. Expecially in the begining of the diet. We tend to stop eating that so we can heal. I believe casien can agravate the gut and allow the gut not heal as quickly. When the gut is repared, some of us can add it back in and some... -
ARCHIVED So Frustrated! What Would You Do?

I would stick with the gluten free diet and try a casein free diet as well with it. I guess my rationale here is that what could it hurt? If it works then you know what -
ARCHIVED Are Places Like Panera & Chipotle Safe?
Salax replied to jasonD2's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I agree. I also try to read each post as informational, nothing personal. In fact to a degree, I do understand the comment about gluten flying through the air from flour tortillas or that being extreme or whatever. It all depends on personal experience and what you are comfortable eating or not eating. To each his own I say. Besides, we as a celiac...
