  1. We have eaten several times at the PFChangs in Downtown SLC with no problems. My daugther and I are both very sensitive to the CC, and we have never gotten sick. This is our favorite place to eat out when in SLC. We have eaten at the ChickFilA in Sandy (off the freeway behind the Hilton Garden Hotel, can't remember the street) a few times, we always ask...
  2. THe majority of their rubs and sauces contain wheat. You can email the company, and they will send you via email an ingredient list. I have an updated ingredient list. Here is a sample of the list Just visit their website and go to the contact page and send them an email. Here is the link: Open Original Shared Link ST. LOUIS STYLE RIBS ST. LOUIS...
  3. I microwave the corn mission tortillas in a quart size baggie with a damp papertowel (for about 30 sec, depending on how many tortillas in bag. Than I take the towel out, leave the tortilla in, and close the bag right after I microwave it. Than my daughter will add her ham/cheese roll or spread her peanut butter on the tortilla when she eats. The tortilla...
  4. We have a Famous Daves right down the street from us. We have eaten there twice in the last two years. The first time, the manager was very knowledgable, and came out with a big black binder full of all the ingredients. There was not a lot of choices, but we both had the chicken. The fries at our resturant are fried in the same oil as breaded items, so...
  5. We tried the new dessert last night! It was really good. It is one of their mini desserts. I am thankful for PFChangs and all of their gluten free options!
  6. Thanks for the link to the website. We love the gluten free menu at PFChangs...and now I can't wait to try the new mini desert! And also on that link I downloaded the 2 gluten free recipes from PFChangs. Can't wait to try the mongollian beef at home! THanks!
  7. The same thing happened to me when I first went gluten free. I was working, on the road, and stopped in during their breakfast. I was wondering about the sausage and eggs or any other options. I didn't know much about gluten free, as it had only been a couple of months at that time since going gluten free. I was told the same thing by the store manager...
  8. Regarding the slicers at the deli, The CC can occur even if you can not see it. My friend that goes to the deli often has a working relationship with the Deli Manager and she puts in her order the night before, and the manger cuts her meats/cheese in the morning right before opening since everything is clean. Maybe you could work out something like this...
  9. Do your grates on your foreman come out? I take mine out and wash them in hot soapy water after each time I use it. We don't grill anything that contains gluten on the grates, but just to clean it well. Since you had used it prior to your dx of celiac disease, I would wash them very good. Also, you said sliced cheese from the deli. They use the...
  10. You might call ahead of time and check the hours of Against The Grain because they are not open like regular grocery stores. It is in a strip mall, in the corner, but easy to find. There is a lot to do in SLC, and the canyons and mountains are beautiful, so hope you enjoy your stay. Good luck!
  11. We have tried Jason's Deli twice..once in Nashville, TN and once in Arizona and both times we were very disapointed. The staff did not take our concerns about CC seriously. I think it depends on the staff and how they are trained at each location rather you will have a negative or positive experience. My daugther and I were both sick with our usual gluten...
  12. Thanks I will give this a try. I tried springrolls last week, and deep fried them, and we didn't like them, so I am excitied to try and bake them! Thanks!
  13. Your in luck for buying gluten free food in Taylorsville. There is a completly gluten free grocery store in Taylorsville: Against The Grain 2292 West 5400 South Taylorsville, Utah 84118 Phone: (801) 955-4418 We shop there when we are in town. We travel to SLC about 2 or 3 times a year, and here are some places we eat at while we are there...
  14. Canned Hormel Beef Stew is Gluten Free - it says on the back of the label (watch out for store brands...I have not found one that is gluten-free) Udi's Bread makes good sandwiches...or ham and cheese roll ups. We use Hormel Naturals turkey or ham or RB that we buy at Walmart...only 2.50 an 8 oz pkg Tin Foil Dinners gluten-free Box Mrs. Leepers "hamburger...
  15. I am thankful to hear that some people have been using them for years and have done okay with them! That makes me happy:) I'm sure it is a cover yourself answer, but its just so nice when things are labeled gluten free!! Makes our lives much easier!! Thanks for the info
  16. I have a recipe that after much trial and error came up with that we love. We serve it with dinner when we have guest over, and they have no idea it is gluten free. I like a sweet cornbread, so if you don't, you can alter the amount of sugar put it this recipe. If I don't have all the ingredients, we also use Pamela's Gluten Free CornBread Mix. It is really...
  17. I was wondering about EggBeaters and contacted ConAgra. I was frustrated with their response. Here is their response that I recieved 8/16/2010. Thought others might benefit from this email also. So is this true with all ConAgra products? That they don't know about the ingredients they use in their products if they contain gluten or not. Kinda of frustrating...
  18. We stay away from the great value brand (walmart) frozen potatoes...but we use Ore Ida frozen potatoes all the time..the hasbrowns, tatortots, french fries. They state gluten free right on the package under the ingredients. Sometimes you have to look for the words "gluten free" most of the time they are realy close to the bottom of the package. We eat them...
  19. Just an idea...for the Tator Tot Casserole we use Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup. It says gluten free right on the label. It is thinner than the old gluten fill cream of mushroom soup because this one is not condensed, but it is good, just decrease the other amount of liquid you put in the casserole.
  20. I was so excitied for the new gluten-free Bisquick to hit the shelves. I was hoping it would be more reasonably priced compared to all the other gluten free flour blends/baking mixes, but it was not. The cheapest place I found it at was at Walmart. It was a 16 oz box for $4.15. It was sitting next to the 96 oz box for $5.98. The gluten free mix is 4 times...
  21. As long as I can remember, McDonald's fry's have had wheat in them. We do not eat them. We do love ChickFilA's fry's. They are never cooked with anything breaded. Also, In and Out has gluten free fries. Good luck!
  22. We love love love Mrs. Leepers corn pasta! We buy the rotini at Walmart of all places! We can also get it at our local Whole Foods. It holds up great, and taste just like the old gluten filled pastas!! I serve it to family/friends when they come over, and they have no idea it is made from corn and gluten free! It makes great cold pastas. Give it a try!
  23. The Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup is gluten free. It says so right on the back of the can. It is thinner than the campbells, so you don't dilute it in your recipes, but once you get used to it, it works good. Progresso has a few gluten free soups. CHeck out there website. If it is gluten free, it will always say so on the back of the can. They don...
  24. My daughter loves taking homemade chicken soup. I bought a thermos brand soup container (I've tried the cheaper brands, and they don't keep the soup hot, but the thermos brand I buy at Target or Walmart works really good. They are like 15$, but will last a couple of years). I make a huge pot of chicken soup and than freeze it into individual containers...
