  1. Mother's rice cakes,Rice Chex,Pamela's cookies.Won't even discuss eating out..too many problems to mention at too many places.
  2. I had my thyroid tested, and what I guess was a full panel of tests for celiac.IGE AB test came back negative reaction to gluten.Haven't seen any more results, yet doctor said there was a gluten reaction, and scheduled me for a biopsy. If I'm testing negative, why would this be?Doctor was hesitant to start with because I didn't have the "classic symptoms"(the...
  3. I gained a ton of weight in the year before I stopped eating gluten, lost it all plus some in the year after.Seems like all I want is fruits, veggies, and seafood these these days..lots of them.
  4. Sometimes this is why it's wise to just avoid processed foods, no matter what the label says.I've reacted to a lot of stuff that proudly screamed"gluten free"on the package. You really don't know who handled it,where it was manufactured, and until federal guidelines become a little stricter, it's easy for companies to cut corners and still be in that gray...
  5. Right now I eat mainly seafood, rice cakes, fruits, veggies, sunflower seed spread, honey, and a little dairy here and there.I eat one"regular" sized meal a day,one small one,and fill in the rest with fruit/veggie smoothies.Body is not happy right now,and I have a hard time digesting anything bigger than the size of an apple..anything bigger and I have to go lay...
  6. I had to deal with people at first too. One of our older employees retired, and they had the back breakroom set up with cake, snacks, ect.Due to a deep fear of cross contamination,I won't touch things set up like a buffet, even if they seem safe, and my boss actually accused me of being rude for not eating.Boyfriend writes it off as "not that serious", and...
  7. I did last summer...stomach pains..
  8. Sadly, the ignorance hasn't gotten any better.I had to pull strings and drive 8 hours round trip to get the blood tests done, and have to do it again for a biopsy. My ER doctor in January didn't even know what celiac was..I had to explain it to him.Seems to me like if there isn't a pill that can treat it, it's not worth understanding.
  9. I completely understand where you are coming from.I've been dealing with this for a year now,but very recently have almost completely lost my appetite.Seems like I react to everything I put in my mouth that isn't fruit, rice cakes, sunflower seed spread, or coffee with goat's milk and honey.Laid on the couch today after a reaction last night, listened to people...
  10. Update on Prego- I made a pizza using Rustic Crust, cheese, and Prego last night.. few hours later, my feet are covered in a DH rash..think I know a jar of sauce that is hitting the trash can.Natural flavors my butt.
  11. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  12. That looks exactly like the rash I had for years that I mistook for acne. After I stopped eating gluten it went away completely.
  13. I have a feeling that my current relationship is going to end because of this illness.I'm self diagnosed after a lifetime of mood swings, brain fog, panic attacks, joint pain, fatigue, and assorted other symptoms. When it became intolerable last year, and the doctors couldn't find anything wrong, I started researching on my own and found out about Celiac. My boyfriend...
  14. I'm in myrtle beach, and would be interested in meeting more people.
  15. i looked at the ingredients, then the price and turned my nose up.I'll make two of my own at home for that price, thanks.
  16. Enjoy Life bagles.6 dollars a bag,the size of a nickle, and the texture of a dish sponge.I think that was the end of my attempting to purchase"replacement" breads.
  17. This first tell tale sign my body isn't getting what it needs is the varicose veins in my legs get worse. Now I know for sure how to clear it up.Thank you so much for this thread.
  18. gluten,soy,corn,tapioca,homogenized dairy
  19. Mom I completely understand.I've probably lost 30 pounds since the end of Febuary, and it's still coming off.I actually had to cut back on my exercise a month ago, because I wasn't eating enough to keep up with my old hour a day routine.(my appetite is lesss than half of what it was, and, now that most dairy is out, consists of tea, produce, fish and chicken...
  20. Open Original Shared Link this sounds interesting.
  21. It's usually chicken broth to make it more"chickeny".Way to disguise cheap meat with no flavor. If you have a problem with MSG or carrageen, avoid it.Otherwise, you'll probably be fine.
  22. My pain alternated between a jabbing pain, like something had torn, and a dull ache.My hips would occasionally feel like they were locking in place and didn't want to move.Had tests done for 10 years and couldn't figure out why it could look fine, but hurt that badly. Now I know.
  23. Between the deep fried seafood buffets, the brownies at the Living Room, and Boulineau's doughnuts, it's hard to vacation here and not screw up.(the last one was my weakness for a long time).
  24. I'll also admit that one of the reasons I started looking at being tested was to have a quick end to explaing why I can't eat at family gatherings, restraunts, office parties, especially for my significant other, who isn't exactly being doubtful, but just cannot seem to grasp the whole picture(The old"I'm sure they have SOMETHING you can eat"), and co-workers...
  25. I eat a lot of brown rice w/fruit and nuts in the morning...maybe a little raw honey and non homoginzed milk.Congee(rice porridge) with home pickled veggies and shrimp sometimes.Eggs are also pretty common. For lunch..nuts,spinach salads, fruits, yogurts, smoothies made with green tea and fresh fruits Dinner.. fish, shrimp, sweet potatos, fruit, boomi bars,dates...
