  1. Also, please remember a biopsy can rule celiac in but not out. So if the biopsy comes back negative you can still have it. If there is little damage from beginning stages or sporadic damage than they can easily miss it. You need to remain on a regular diet until all of the testing you want to get is complete. Do you know what blood tests they ran because...
  2. The ones she listed above....she should make sure they are all done though because some docs skip one or 2 that can be the difference in the results. Make sure she doesn't go gluten free before that too.
  3. Good to hear that after everything you have been through. Congrats on the official word:)
  4. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 That link should help with what gluten can be hidden under. I also have a list of brands that will clearly indicate gluten and not hide it and some other info. If you would like me to send it to you just contact me with your email address:)
  5. Ok, so my mom comes home with these cool lemon burst organic food bars and they said gluten free and she said to try it. So I looked and it said gluten free so I took a bite. Ok, so I decided hey this is good let's see whats in it....it said GLUTEN FREE OAT FIBER!!! Ok, they should not be clearly labeling it gluten free with that in my opinion. I wonder where...
  6. I got mono and then that triggered the celiac to activate. Was diagnosed at 16 and am now 18.
  7. Yep, I check Vitamin E source because I found out a kind of lip balm I was using a while ago had it derived from Wheat. Be very careful:)
  8. I saw a greater sensitivity to gluten. Some people do not though...it's just one of those things that varies.
  9. Yep, I use it alot too..always double check the labels though because things do change.

I won't eat them because I always find an onion ring in mine. Since I was diagnosed I will not trust them.
  11. Were you gluten free at the time of the biopsy? You need to be on gluten for a good 3 months before testing. Also, a biopsy can ONLY rule celiac in...it can't rule it out..if blood tests were positive you likely have it. Which blood tests were positive?
  12. I have heard the same as what Carrie just posted.
  13. I took it for 2 weeks around the time I started the diet. It did not work for me at all...caused all sorts of problems. They switched me to Zoloft and that worked so much better(and I am not a fan of meds unless necessary)
  14. Pepto helped me the most but I try not to take them unless I really have to.
  15. 1.Cybros Rice Rolls 2.Tinkyada Pasta 3.Kinnikinnick products 4.ENER-G pretzels w/sesame seeds 5.Chebe products
  16. I guess the things I miss the most are girl scout cookies, oreos, pizza, and kelloggs cherry poptarts. But hey it's better for me not to eat them and there are other things I can eat..I make a pizza that is really good and just try to look at the positives.
  17. Your blood tests showed it ..you have it. A biopsy can only rule celiac in it can't rule celiac out so the only reason to even get one is to maybe see the extent of damage done. If you go back on it for testing you need to be on it for 3 months prior....I personally do not think it is worth it.... Have you also changed products like shampoos, hairsprays...
  18. Do you use a gluten free shampoo? Some people have said when they use a shampoo with wheat or something in it then that happens. I hope you feel better soon..just make sure you are 100% gluten free it can take some time...if after a long time goes by and you see no improvement you should check all your foods and products to make sure nothing it slipping...
  19. I think if you feel better off of gluten then you should definitely stay off of it. That is the ultimate test and whether you have celiac or just have a problem with gluten you still need to be off of it.
  20. It varies on the person and how much damage, etc. I did not see a difference significantly until a few months and it took about 8 months for me to feel normal again.
  21. Yep, reactions can last a while. My reactions last a good 2 weeks.
  22. It is a good guideline to have...if you would like it I can send it to you. Many people on the board have it. You are welcome to contact me with your email.
  23. Yes, for biopsies and blood tests you need to be on gluten for about 3 months prior. You see when you are gluten free the damage starts to heal and if you already have little or sporadic damage it can easily make for a false negative. Biopsies can only rule celiac in...they can't rule it out.
  24. Yep, it's all thanks to Scott....he puts in alot of time and effort into this site
