  1. I think you need to get copies of those tests and see what was really positive, I have seen docs thinking odd things mean someone is eating gluten.
  2. Chicken and spinach oven risotto! Yum! Yum! You know I love a good " meal in one pot".
  3. On this thread? https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/98288-the-funny-pages-tickle-me-elbow-the-sequel/page-120#entry882889 Why....we never drink! We are a serious and sober group! Open Original Shared Link
  4. Nate- I don't think I would worry about rare things like flouride intolerance right yet. Sounds like the doc is eliminating the obvious problem first - problems with Celiac and the gluten-free diet. See what the scope says and the urologist. Get that info and take care of the issues they find. Then you can see if you need to look into more obscure problems...
  5. I have never seen any peanuts sticking together. So why? Plus, wheat flour isn't really good for that. It gets sticky when moist.
  6. It is a bit confusing because you keep asking the same question in 3 or 4 different places. I think I said before that you might be sensitive to an ingredient? Maybe your baking tools ( sheets, etc) had left- over gluten, etc. If you think you are a " super sensitive" you want to stop eating any of these processed foods. Perhaps even eat only foods...
  7. The best place to get current info would be to call the company
  8. I do that. I say the doctors at The Univ of Chicago Medical Center Celiac Center say " insert what you want them to know here". People think they are my doctors and I just let them think so. They have lots of advice on their website, so they are sort of our doctors.
  9. Coffee is gluten free. Drink whatever brand you like.
  10. Too bad we can't Internet babysit! We could pass the baby around and all get our baby fix! I know people who work from home, but they have their own businesses selling or doing book keeping/ medical billing. Not something you could start next week. I don't know what hours hub works but could you at least be a waitress or work the overnight shift at...
  11. We have the famous Kansas law - If two trains meet on the same track, neither shall proceed until the other has passed. And a few other brilliant ones : Rabbits may not be shot from motorboats. Pedestrians crossing the highways at night must wear tail lights. No one may catch fish with his bare hands. ( shared by several states) The state game...
  12. But, for this discussion, its gluten free. Not to confuse people - corn is considered gluten free.
  13. It's not saying there is 20 ppm in them. They don't add gluten to get to an amount. The test is less than 20 ppm. It could be 19 or 1 or 0. I didn't see anything about what level they test, but its at least 20 as they are made in Canada. There are a lot of ingredients, they have Xantham gum. This can be a problem for some people - Celiac or not. It...
  14. If its that bad, call an ambulance! Go to the hospital!
  15. Maybe email or call the company? These may be a voluntary recall by the company not the goverment. Might be they aren't in the Walmart system or didn't scan well and that is what a lazy check- out clerk said?
  16. What I don't think you are understanding is, if soy sauce has wheat in it , it will list it. For example - salad dressing - ingredients - olive oil, soy sauce ( soy, wheat, salt), onion, spices. Got interrupted. To continue: It can be surprising to see some of the foods with wheat and malt added. Contadina had some tomato pastes with wheat added. Not...
  17. I think that Celiac takes a while to appear. You have to make antibodies and then they have to have time to destroy the small intestine enough that it starts to bother you. I would think this would take at least a month, probably more. Just my guess. For most people, it appears it was a gradual decline over many months or years.
  18. That is why you read the ingredients on everything you buy. Wheat must be labelled. I have never seen it injected in meat. Modified food starch is corn unless specified otherwise. These are just US laws. In the US, most sausages don't have bread fillers - a few do, so read the ingredients. Bread fillers in sausages are more common in Canada and the...
  19. I don't understand the choice of eat gluten or starve. You know you will be wanting to eat, so you can bring something. Keep a packet of nuts or a gluten-free granola or protein style bar with you, always. If the choice is to eat rat poison or starve, which would you chose? Especially because we you aren't talking about really " starving ". I get...
  20. My SIL saw her in person last week! She is a big hit in the Dallas Ft. worth area!
  21. So, your saying that your family would be insulted by you taking care of your health? Your family expects someone with a severe peanut allergy to eat the Pb cookies they made and die? They think a person with diabetes can't take a minute to check their blood sugar and give them self insulin? Why would you want to associate with these evil people? Ok...
  22. Looks like, depending on how the rule is interpreted but.....there will be no more gluten free menus in restaurants . They can't test every food they serve, so this may mess things up for the good gluten-free menus. However, the FDA doesn't exactly regulate them...so who knows.
  23. [ I'm starting to sound like a broken record but....gluten does not hide. It is not sneaky. It is not demonic. In the US and Canada and a few other countries - if wheat is used as a filler in lunch meat, tomato paste, beans, etc, etc.....it must legally be listed in the ingredients in some fashion. It will say WHEAT. It may say at the end " contains...
  24. Have you asked the hotel about a fridge? Many have them for people with a medical need. They aren't supposed to ask what the nature of the medical issue is. Call and ask about the hotel store or any stores nearby that might sell food items like a Quick Trip or grocery. gluten-free beef jerky. WF has shelf stable pepperoni I think is gluten-free. ...
  25. In the US & Canada, labeling laws would require the wheat to be listed on tomato purée. Corn starch is safe for Celiacs unless you have an additional issue with corn. If wheat is used to thicken a food, it must be listed.
