  1. You guys sound like you escaped from the What's for Dinner thread! Did one of you dig under the fence again?
  2. Looks like I'm not helping here. Good luck to you.
  3. The flour in your lungs shouldn't be an issue. But, think about it. How does the flour get to your lungs? It passes thru your throat. Some probably gets swallowed.
  4. Have you been checked for anemia? It should resolve but can take a few months gluten-free if its severe.
  5. Asthma seemed like a lung issue to me, too. At least it was 30 years ago when I studied it in school. SOB can be caused by other things like heart disease or severe anemia and have nothing to do with the lungs. The heart isn't moving the oxygen around properly or the blood can't store enough oxygen and the body wants more. The body thinks the...
  6. I liked the idea of playing with her bears. You could put notes everywhere she will look that say "HI MOM!" or "Mom- help yourself to a pair of socks". Along the lines of the porn video - have a really dirty book for her to take from you to read.
  7. On THIS site, if you are giving scientific evidence and quotes, please state and link to the source. Edited to fix some bizarre typo or spell correct!
  8. You do realize they have Celiac Disease in Europe, right? And there is evidence of Celiac before anyone thought about genetically engineering plants? Could you please link to some evidence that gliadin is a new additive to wheat? I thought it was the name for a protein that is in all wheat - GMO or " original".
  9. Forgot what it was.... The PB pudding was so good. We had burgers on the grill ( we mix a tomato based BBQ sauce in the burger), corn on the cob and oven fries
  10. Last night we had this! OMG! So good! http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Peanut-Butter-Milk-Chocolate-Puddings-350968 And we had something else.....
  11. You don't have to buy only " certified gluten-free" foods. Just oats.
  12. Now you just aren't listening, young lady! Oats are an exception. Even Quaker will tell you there is a very big possibly that the oats contain accidental wheat. Maybe they should label that, but its not required by law. As for more meds to make the diarrhea worse? Stop that! Give your body time to heal from the problem it had yesterday and the...
  13. They were pretty good. I made extra " icing" with lots of lemon. I poked holes in the top of the pan of " Lemonies". And poured it on. We always need more lemon
  14. This sounds great! What beer do you use?
  15. Yeah! That, too! Re- read my pre- coffee post - I meant that if you ate more fatty food, for example, you might also be dealing with that stomach upset as well as gluten. But I'm still back to - stop putting yourself in a position to eat gluten for a few months so you can heal.
  16. Cipro is a very common antibiotic. Descending colon isn't Celiac. Do you have colitis or Chron's? I'm not familiar with the treatment for that. Are you eating enough calories and still loosing weight? Or you aren't eating enough because of pain? Why not ask the doctor all these questions? Write them down and call. Maybe put him on speaker phone...
  17. You can eat healthy without grains. Some things we think are grains are actually nuts or seeds. Just try to keep a balance of fiber and nutrients. You can certainly eat a limited variety of food for a few month and then try new items, 1 at a time. Maybe when healed you will be able to eat some grains. Actually - your dietician is right - a banana...
  18. Yes. You could have different reactions. Some of it is that you are healing, so the reaction might change as you get your gut healed. Some of it may be what else you ate with the gluten. Was it more fatty or salty or less fiber or more fiber than your normal food? The real issue here, as I see it, is that you have only been trying to be gluten-free...
  19. Just an FYI - if you want any additional testing - like an endoscopy, you will need to continue eating gluten.
  20. It may take a few months, or a few years, but you will realize, one day, that you forgot to check the location of the bathroom at the new grocery. And then you realize you didn't need it! FYI - last names not required in forum posts. You can edit yours out if you would like. Edit works for about 2 days after a post
  21. He's a grown-up. he is capable of ordering his own food. He is capable of deciding if he wants to order his food gluten-free or not. If he chooses not to, see my first sentence. You can't make him eat gluten-free by ordering his food, etc. Maybe this is a control issue for him?. Maybe he is immature? Maybe its something else? You could look at...
  22. I have never heard that not eating yeast is an issue. I rarely eat anything with yeast in it. I think there are cultures that don't eat yeasty baked goods - at least traditionally.
  23. If you are waiting to find one that is tested for gluten....you may be waiting for a long time. No gluten ingredients sounds fine to me.
  24. Wow...Maybe don't get married until he comes can accept his Celiac Disease? Obviously, you have to wonder about someone who wants to date/marry a person they think makes them feel bad about themselves. My hub and my kids usually eat gluten-free meals with me. Why should I spend the extra time and effort to make 2 different meals? Why does he want to...
  25. For sweet potatoes, try boiling the whole potato for about 5 minutes first. Much easier to cut.
