  1. Enterolab's "Do it yourself lab tests" cannot diagnosis Celiac disease. Why don't you want to get a legitimate diagnosis? One you could use if you are ever hospitalized or as a reason to get your kids tested? Open Original Shared Link
  2. As serious as your husbands issues seem to be, I have to wonder why you want to go "the self-diagnosis with unproven internet tests" route? I think there may be some legitimate "cross-reactivities" with allergies but that wouldn't apply to Celiac as there is no scientific evidence for that. 3. I don't know either. It's just an interesting fact for the people who can fix the system to consider. Perhaps a system upgrade messed up people with previous blogs in some way. For what I know of computers - it could be that the gerbil that runs the " publish blog" wheel has run off.
  4. Don't know about the food situation....but a heads up. The WF in some places close at 8 pm.
  5. This seems to be happening to people who have had blogs before.
  6. We seem to be having this issues with some accounts. Have you had a blog previously? Do you have an option for "publish"? Do you have more than 1 draft? Until this is worked out, Peter has been going in with his Super Powers and publishing them.
  7. Have you deleted the computer's cookies and history? This forum seems very sensitive to all that left-over stuff floating around in your computer. And that's what Peter and Scott always say...
  8. Have you deleted all your cookies and history? (not your personal ones but the computer ones) Tis forum seems to be very sensitive to those things. Not this kind of clearing cookies:
  9. I knew I had replied to one with a lot of ideas before. I used the google in the top right on the main forum page (if you use it from this page, it will just search this parent section). I put my name in for poster and the word lunch and selected to look at posts.
  10. I noticed this would happen if I had been in one position for a long time. Like laying down and then getting up , or sitting and then standing. Its like it was dammed up and the shift in the body position released it.

  13. About 30% of the population have at least one of the genes for Celiac. Most do not develop Celiac. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link However, why not get tested for Celiac? Do not stop eating gluten until all testing is finished - blood tests and possibly endoscopy. Open Original Shared Link
  14. Are you doing gluten-free baked goods because its the " trendy" diet? Or for people with a real medical need? Those with a real medical need a lot more care in the preparing of the foods. There are many ways to contaminate the " gluten-free" baked goods and make them unsafe for Celiacs. For example, using the same kitchen, equipment, display cases, etc...
  15. Looks like she was last on the forum in 2011. You could try to send a personal message? Some people have that set up to notify them by email. If she would still have that email, maybe she would respond. I know we have had quite a few people who believe they have candida. Perhaps if you used the google function in the top right of the main forum page? ...
  16. I can quote, too. But the iPad has never had the emoticon feature. I have bugged Scott mercilessly about it, but it may not be possible.
  17. Its on this list. Its over for this year but I know it has been around several years, so something for next year. I wish they had an adult one! Open Original Shared Link
  18. You can put the link here, if you want to. As long as its not your business.
  19. Lots of people cut dairy but its not because nutrients aren't absorbed. It's because the substance that " digests " or breaks down lactose ( in milk) is produced int the villi. If the villi are damaged, they can't produce this substance. Some dairy products have more lactose than others. Some of your villi are not damaged. It would be rare for all of...
  20. I figured these two people don't know how to cook because they seem to believe that gluten-free food is only produce and meat or not enjoying life. They seemed smart enough to know that doesn't have to be true, so I figured they may not be able to cook. Because gluten-free food is more than boring, unseasoned food and can be quite delicious and even...
  21. Some of these posters may be a bit like my dad - it doesn't matter how much instructions you give them - they just can't cook. Eating more than just boring, plain food (when you can't eat at nice restaurants all the time) is something they aren't capable of if they must cook it. So, I suppose, for those people, I can see how Celiac really limits what they...
  22. yes that is true. I have seen that numerous places. It appears people with Celiac may require multiple tries at the Hep B vaccine. This does not appear to be true with other vaccines. 23. It should be fine. But if you want to make sure...eat gluten for a few days and then get your blood work. You also need gluten in your system for the endoscopy if you choose to have it.
  24. The "entire gluten spectrum". - approx. 90% wheat, 9% barley / malt, 1% rye ( usually just bread or crackers) Rarely see rye without some wheat flour. Barley is in non gluten-free beers, some in food, usually as malt.
