A wheat beer has very little wheat in it. If that is what is bothering you....maybe just don't drink the brands that bother you? I doubt that is the only wheat you are getting? People with a problem with wheat or gluten don't need to eat 6 pieces of cake to " test" it. You stop eating all gluten, including all beer except gluten-free beer for a few months...

Where's Daddy? Might be time for some Daddy time! When they are that age and don't feel good, they want someone to hold them. Some babies aren't as picky about who holds them. When Little Goober is feeling better - that's the time to teach him a little " alone" time. Laying on the floor or sitting in a seat with Mommy eating her soup or spending...

ARCHIVED Fresh Water Prawns - Violently Sick
kareng replied to DebNC84's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have heard that you have to clean these little buggers well. Even if they don't eat the wheat, they take it into the digestive tract. You have to get that cleaned out well and it can be kinda tricky. Maybe google it and see if there is a source. I will try, too. -
Really....if you eat a " ton" of any 1 food in 1 day....you will feel bad. It's not really a good way to test if its wheat or gluten. With the thought that this is a serious self test- The best way might be to completely eliminate all gluten until you feel better. Then add a portion of cooked barley to your diet for a week and see if you start feeling...

ARCHIVED How Do I Find All Of A Member's Posts?
kareng replied to ENF's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
If their posts are older....I'm not sure how many years...maybe 2 or 3, they don't show up that way. To find that, you need to use the google function in the top right corner of the main forum page. Put in their name under the posted by or author ( trying to remember the exact words). Search and that should show you the posts. Also, if people have posted... -

ARCHIVED Can Celiac Disease Prevent Cancer?

If all your villi are damaged and you are getting no nutrition - you would not live long enough to get cancer. So.....I guess it works as a cancer fighter. -

ARCHIVED Any 'canners' Out There?
kareng replied to notme's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I know nothing about canning and wasn't going to read this thread....but you Canners are funny! Who knew you had an official song and everything! -
Alan Levinovitz is an assistant professor of Chinese philosophy and religion at James Madison University. Don't think that makes him an expert on Celiac Disease or NCGI. I usually don't seek my medical advice from Assistant professors of philosophy. Would guess he was just hoping to get some attention. Looks like it worked.

ARCHIVED Birthday Candles And Icing
kareng replied to tigerlily6200's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
No. The company will label on the bag "may contain wheat" if they are a special batch made on a machine that might have run the pretzel m&Ms thru. That is usually the "special" flavors: Mars Chocolate makes M&M's, Dove, Snickers and other products. The company urges gluten-free consumers to check labels, even if a product normally is gluten... -
ARCHIVED Birthday Candles And Icing
kareng replied to tigerlily6200's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm trying to figure out which one I got. I think it was a Betty Crocker icing in a tube, not a gel. When my boys were that age, they loved M&Ms on the cake for decoration. You could spell her name out with them. I had parents ask me how the cake was decorated. Their kids were raving about it and wanted it for their birthday. -
ARCHIVED Birthday Candles And Icing
kareng replied to tigerlily6200's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I wouldn't worry about candles. I have seen 1 type of gel tube or icing without wheat. I can't remember the brand. If no one comes up with it, I'll see if I have some when I get home. I'm having my gray removed from my hair. -

I will answer this assuming you are really asking this question. This group spams a lot of Celiac websites. Remember, this website you are linking to is there to sell people things. The name makes them sound like they are a national celiac group but they are a fancy internet store. I would urge you to get your info from reputable websites like: ... -
ARCHIVED Eating With Your Proper Blood Type, What Do You Think?
kareng replied to Renegade's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
We have had this discussion before and everyone with Celiac has different blood types and needs to avoid gluten. Not just the ones with whichever blood type it is. There is no scientific evidence for this blood type eating. -
My Irish grandma used to do this with mashed potatoes. We didn't add any bacon or cheese. We called them Irish Latkes! These would be so yummy!
