ARCHIVED Guten Free Crispy Battered Seafood
kareng replied to puffinlover's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just an FYI, the original info is about 5 years old. Products can change in that time but I bet you checked the product to see if it was still gluten-free? -

ARCHIVED Blog Entries Posting To Draft Only
kareng replied to Ohmyword's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
They are appearing now. Peter tweaked something and made them appear. It seems to be a system issue that they are looking into. You could probably edit them and add a line that says something like " written on April 25" or whatever date. -

kareng replied to kareng's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips

ARCHIVED Blog Entries Posting To Draft Only
kareng replied to Ohmyword's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I'm not sure what is going on. I just tried it. I saved a draft and then had a little box to pick options - publish, edit and delete were my choices. You are saying that you click the box and publish is not an option? That's what I think you are saying. -
ARCHIVED Would You Trust This?
kareng replied to CommonTater's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I wouldn't. I figure if a company is too lazy to clean machines properly, I will not buy their product. To me this is different than a " made on shared machinery" . In actual practice - it probably means shared machinery, but this statement on products just pisses me off. -
Not sure if this is a new idea, but it is to me! Watch that the almond paste has no gluten ingredients. I saw one that had wheat. You could use any fruit in these. It uses 1 tbsp of flour. I would use almond flour or rice flour, I think. The revelation to me - Using almond paste to make a crust! Open Original Shared Link

If your pics have less clothes, you will need to spray tan them? Really, that man had a few too many clothes, also. All he really needs is a strategically placed sash. -

ARCHIVED Looking For Juicer/blender
kareng replied to Chrissyb's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The bullet one you have - can it grind up frozen fruit for a smoothie? My son would make them often if we didn't have to clean the big Kitchen Aid blender - which does a great job with frozen fruit. -
ARCHIVED Read This If You Could Use A Chuckle :)
kareng replied to NotMollyRingwald's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I thought about bathing the cat but many people talked me out of it - a cat rescue lady, several vet techs, the 2 people at the boutique pet treat store...They all said to get a furminator. Gracie loves it! She was purring! Then Cooper decided he wanted to be "raked" too. He loved it! A lot of my brain fog went away when I was no longer extremely... -

Jess's bird children sound just like human children. We let them try to work it out, but when we get tired of listening to the fighting, we have to separate them! Victor/Vincent - I don't know much about anime/computer characters but I do think the women are supposed to have a lot less clothing and a lot bigger chest! Just watching Dr Travis on... -
Just if it makes it a bit easier at home. My kids have some gluten and they are old enough to keep it on thier counter and be careful. If I fix meals, its gluten free. I used to try to fix gluten-free pasta for me and gluten for them and it got too confusing keeping spoons out of the wrong pot, Unless one person was responsible for one pot and one for...

ARCHIVED Positive Biopsy/negative Blood Results-Dr States No Celiac
kareng replied to carpermi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you were gluten free, you could certainly test negative. Get a copy of the pathology report and see what it says. Get a copy of the blood work, too. Just in case.... This doc sounds like he doesn't know what he is talking about. -
ARCHIVED Screen Too Wide-How To Shrink It?

ARCHIVED Finally Got Into Rheumatology Triage
kareng replied to nvsmom's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have worked with doctors and live in a neighborhood with doctors and my kids have friends whose parents are doctors - they are idiots sometimes, just like the rest of us. They forget to put the trash out for trash day, their kids get suspended for drinking, they have kids with perfect ACTs, they coach 1 st grade t ball, they buy Cheetos at the grocery... -
ARCHIVED Labeling On Foods
kareng replied to ryann14's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If the candy contains wheat, in the US and Canada and probably other countries, it must state that in the ingredients. There is no rule about labeling if it is made in the same facility or on the same machinery as a wheat containing product. Therefore, pretzel M&Ms, KitKats and Twix do say they have wheat in the ingredients.- 3 replies

ARCHIVED Brand New Celiac Here With Tons Of Questions
kareng replied to rene83's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes you should check ingredients. Most flavored coffee beans are gluten-free. Most of the syrups at Starbucks are gluten-free. You just need to read the ingredients. I drink coffee and lattes and iced coffees from Starbucks all the time. I'm not sure that a blanket statement that all Pepsi products are gluten-free is correct. I know all the sodas are...- 27 replies

If you want to get the blood tests and possibly endoscopy, you need to continue to eat gluten.
