  1. Of course, I don't know her mom, but, If I were you, I would request a copy of her recent medical records from the doctor. See for yourself if they have retested her blood to see if she is really compliant. Dairy can cause bloating and gas but it sounds like her mom feeds her alot of dairy. Can you get her to try to not eat dairy for a few weeks to...
  2. I have pink or purple ones for gluten-free and the standard blue ones for gluten. I really wanted blue cooking spoons, toaster, colander, etc but red is much easier to find. Then I use red tape on my PB, etc. And a piece of red tape on the handle to remind people that the stovetop grill is gluten-free.
  3. Have you tried eliminating dairy? Is she sneaking something at school or dance, etc? You don't live with her, maybe her mom isn't doing a very good job of gluten-free diet? Have her antibodies gone down?
  4. If you have Celiac disease, those crumbs that soak into the burger, are too much gluten. Google the other Celiac medical centers and they will say the same thing: "The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your intestine. This is true for anyone with the disease, including people who...
  5. I see my neice's little guys. I don't worry about a stray crumb on them. At my house they eat gluten free. They are never "covered" in obvious crumbs. If they were, we would brush them off. I don't kiss them on the lips but I do hug them. Living with kids might be different but visits are fine I let anyone pet my dog. He doesn't have cookies or...

  7. The info on this thread is 6 years old. You will want to get more current info. Products and company paractices may have changed in that amount of time.
  8. We only fused tonight. I left when it had come down to 1000F. We will slump next week. These first things I "cooked" tonight are just little bits of stuff to see what happens.
  9. If you have been doing things like sharing condiments and PB and eating out, you haven't gotten the gluten-free diet down yet. There is a learning curve involved. Give a real gluten-free diet a fair shot for a couple of months and see if that helps. all grains have "gluten". Celiacs re-act to what we commonly call gluten - the gluten protein of wheat...
  10. All grains have "gluten". Celiacs misuse that term when we are only referring to wheat, rye & barley. Corn gluten, rice gluten, etc are all safe for someone with Celiac. It is possible to have an issue with another food like corn or even bananas, that doesn't not mean they have the gluten that causes a Celiac reaction. Please read the safe and unsafe...
  11. She doesn't have all those nasty diseases an outdoor cat could have. She was fine in a cardboard box on the way there. I let her out in the van on the 5 minute ride home. She crawled under my seat and was fine. Then she came out into the garage and right in the house with no problems. Her only issue is dermatitis. We are going to give it a week and...
  12. Natural flavorings does not mean wheat. In the US, they must declare wheat if that is an ingredient.
  13. Please note that this thread is 6 years old. Product info discussed may have changed in 6 years. Most vinegar is considered safe for Celiacs. The exception is Malt vinegar which contains barley malt.
  14. You think I need a class in that?
  15. I'm taking a class tonight - Intro to Fusing and Slumping.
  16. Last night I gave her a tiny piece of roast beef. I held it out to her and she wouldn't take it. As soon as I put it on the ground, she gobbled it. So far she isn't picky about food. She had some cheap looking kibble at her old house, my neighbor had some cans of Friskys she liked and I have BB grainfree and she seems to like it. We are going to...
  17. We have a long thread on what people are eating for breakfast: What about PB or nut butters for your protein? On toast, an apple, etc
  18. I think he was 'taking note" of that
  19. I was thinking something like that or maybe some tuna at bed. I want her to stay in her new 900 sq ft apartment (basement) at night. The dog sleeps in our room and her food, water, litter box, leather couch, double chair with attached ottoman, big screen TV, Xbox and ground level bunny viewing are there. Of course, she will not be spoiled....
  20. Julie, she doesn't have any claws, front or back! I wish she would purr.... My dog always gets a dog biscuit at bedtime. What kind of treats do they like?
  21. Apparently, Gracie is done with me. She only has eyes and cuddles for M (16). Last I looked she was sleeping soundly on his chest as he was trying to nap. I'm sure its my fault I didn't cat-nap her years ago and bring her to him. When he wasn't suitable for sleeping on, She is sleeping on my workbench, on the spongy glass cutting mat, that I doubled...
  22. I would see how much vitamins are in the Ensure? If its the amount you have been taking, I would back off some. I'm not sure what the question is? Are you asking about an interaction? I would look at the Ensure site or the vitamin's directions for that.
  23. Doesn't seem crazy to me. Baking probably wouldn't be involved. That might be the only thing I would really worry about.
  24. Anatto should be gluten-free. It is made from seeds of a tree. You could have a non-gluten issue with anatto. Its used to give dairy products a yellow color
  25. I just had her out on the screened porch. she didn't try to get out, or be frantic or anything. She looked around & wanted to come back in. I think the people who claimed she wouldn't stay in the house either didn't Fortun want her in the house or thier little dog drove her out. Fortunately, Cooper is very mellow & obedient. She's probably...
