  1. Make sure her lunch is sealed tight. Every item in a baggie and then in a bigger baggie or closed lunch bag stapled closed. If the other kid brings a lunch it will probably be sealed, too. I suppose its possible the other kid will eat at the locker but I would just brush off the crumbs and wash my hands before eating. Does she know her "lockermate"? ...
  2. Something to think about: Will your insurance pay for you to repeat a $300 + lab test that was negative a couple of months before?
  3. So frustrating. I had an ortho appt for J once and I left after 2 hours. Was able to get him a better doc. Why are some doctors' offices really good at scheduling and some so bad?
  4. Most of us don't worry about carrots or most produce. We wash it and enjoy.

It doesn't show exactly what you posted. You have to click on it and look through the thread for your post. When I saw the title I thought content like :"satisfied with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else."
  6. If you want to get tested for Celiac, eating Quaker Oats shouldn't be enough gluten. The reason we don't eat non gluten-free oats is because there might be some wheat cc. There may be none in the batch you get. The Univ of Chicago Celiac Ct sent me a note about testing family members. It said they must be eating a "regular" gluten diet for 3 month.
  7. Plain frozen veggies are great. Just read the ingredients to make sure you don't pick one up with a sauce. Don't worry about eggs. some people are bothered by eggs but its not directly related to Celiac or gluten.
  8. Wash them if you are worried they might have somethng on them. Edited to fix "worrtied"! What was that? where is that spell check when you need it?
  9. The genetic test only proves you have a gene. Many people have the gene and don't have Celiac.

Only Scott and Peter know if that is possible or something they want to do. I don't know how much work or money it would take. They read suggestions and decide if the suggestion is helpful & if its something they can do. I'm guessing it wouldn't be an instant change if they wanted to do it. I do find the site hard to use on my Iphone but it works...
  11. On of the "Rules of celiac" never assume ingredients - always ask.
  12. https://www.celiac.com/articles/181/1/Safe-Gluten-Free-Food-List-Safe-Ingredients/Page1.html There are some other things you might want to look at on the celiac.com page, too.

    ARCHIVED Thanks

No problem. Its really a product issue. Makes it easier for someone looking for something in the future.
  14. If your Grand Tour takes you to KC, let me know! I can talk about my dog, too!
  15. It sounds like it would be. Fruit and choclate should be. If I am looking at your info right, you have only been gluten-free for less than 2 weeks. You haven't had a chance to heal and get things under control in your bowels. You are still at the stage where eating anything can be a problem. You haven't had time to figure out if there are things...
  16. Are you saying you bought a jar of Mayo? If so, read the ingredients. If you are saying what the previous poster is talking about (buying a sandwich or chicken salad), then it was likely cc'd. They use that jar of mayo to spread on gluten sandwiches. They cook parts of the chicken salad and drain it in the same colander they drain the gluten pasta for...
  17. Just wanted you to know. I think one of them is still around on this site. Sometimes people get angry when they think someone should respond and they aren't here any longer.
  18. Please watch the dates on the posts. These posts are 5 years old. Products change and this info may not still be accurate.
  19. You are responding to 2-3 yeart old posts. Probably won't get a response from most of them.
  20. If your roaster pan is like mine, I would use it. My pan is smooth metal with no grooves or scratches. I could get it very clean. Maybe if we had mixed wheat bread in it, I would worry. I think the soy sauce would come off with a good washing.
  21. Sounds like a CYA statement. They don't test for gluten so they aren't going to say its gluten-free. I eat blue cheeses and gorgonzola and feta with no problems.
  22. Just a thought but, if everytime you eat there, you feel bad.....don't eat there?
  23. Honey...its late for me but I live in a household of male gluten eaters. I will post tomorrow so check back.
  24. Peter, are you coming thru KC on the way back?
