  1. I have frozen chili and taco meat. I put them on the bottom of the cooler and they were still frozen when we got there. You can keep them frozen for a couple of more days before using. I got those exact pans at Cabellas.
  2. I saw a plug-in cooler at Walmart last year. In this heat, it might be a good idea. This could be a thread we can refer people to in the future. (I don't want to repeat myself at Thanskgiving and next summer. ) I'm going to add: A small insulated lunch bag and ice pack to take food to eat outside of hotel.
  3. Chebe Open Original Shared Link I have gotten them at HyVee, Hen House and Price Chopper. You know how that goes though. They don't have them this week but have them next week. You might have to make a shopping trip to KC. Ginny - have you made the Chebe without the cheese? I have heard you can, but haven't tried it. My boys (hub included...
  4. Mo - I know a few of these you can't do, like the Go Picnic things but I put them on for others who may wonder about travelling. You could make your own versions of them. Not all these may work for everyone but here are a few things that work for me when traveling by car. Prepare as much as possible before you go. Shred cheese, cut up meat &...
  5. I'm not super sensitive or have as many intolerances as you, but I can relate. Sometimes, I just don't go if it would make me sad. Hub has been taking the boys, and meeting up with his brother and his kids and wife, at various bar/restauraunts in town. I am welcome to come and have a glass of wine or other adult beverage. But I can't stand to watch...
  6. Cerave has an A.M. with sunscreen and a P.M. version for night. All Cerave products are gluten-free (I have checked with the company).
  7. Mo, I'm tired now and kid is using the PC. If I don't post by tomorrow, PM me and remind me. I want to find a few links for you, too.
  8. You plan ahead. then you plan some more. If you are driving, you bring lots of stuff. If flying, you research where the groceries are and bring some stuff. You get a hotel with at least a fridge. Microwave is better, kitchen even better. Are you driving? Or flying? Or just wondering what can be done? I don't have as many intolerances as...
  9. I'm posting this for future readers looking for info on Schar. We do not really know why the OP chose to single out one company and this website for selling that company's products. This is from Schar's Facebook page today: "' Schar gluten-free Gluten-free Fact of the Day: Corn has been used by manufacturers in gluten-free products for many...
  10. This isn't a "fail" on Kelloggs part. They have compied with regulations. It is our job as Celiacs to read the ingredients and know that we cannot eat wheat, barley, rye and non-certified gluten-free oats. Kelloggs did not try to pass this off as gluten-free.
  11. You made it thru the night! Glad your pain is down
  12. I have tried different flour mixes with bean flour. I found that they all taste funny as batter or dough but usually cook up well. Considering every baked good in our house must have PB or massive amounts of chocolate or both, they don't taste beany in the end. Maybe they would for a lighter flavored white cake. Used garbanzo bean flour in some pizza...
  13. Sometimes dentists willl let you pay monthly. Many will take a trade.
  14. What I noticed at some of the Wendy's is say "allergic to wheat'. Even the ones who don't speak a lot of English seem to understand. One of them said not to have the cheese today because they had a reason to thnk it wasn't safe that day. She couldn't explain it but I think someone dropped a bun or something. I get the chilli and put it on the potato....
  15. Maybe it was missed. I think we both posted at once. Can they give it to you as a shot or an IV?
  16. 'How about a dose of IV antibiotic or a shot?
  17. That's OK. I knew what you meant.
  18. Could they prescribe one that the compounding pharmacy has? Sometimes more than one type will work.
  19. Wheat, rye, barley
  20. If you are going to see her tomorrow, can't hurt to mentioin it. Might want to get tested for some basic nutrional deficiencies.
  21. We prefer to think of ourselves as creative, special, fun & sexy....not irrational or wierd
  22. I would say 29 but I have a 19 yr old so that would make my hub a child molester!
  23. This is my lasagna sauce. I think it would make a good spaghetti sauce. Cooking it for 2-3 hours helps the taste and cooks out some of the liquid. If you want it more liquid, pur a little of the pasta water in with it when ready to serve. A good Ital sausage will be the spices. The can ounces are approx. Get whatever is close. 1 Lb Italian sausage...
  24. Noticed you didn't say how old you are!
